CommanderJohnson Posted November 23, 2001 Report Posted November 23, 2001 Thought it'd be nice if people could post hints, tips, advice, stories, and just tell us what it's like to be the less popular careers. (IE, Medics, Marines, Assassins flying small ships, etc) To start off:Story: I was an Assasin in one of my first games. I launched and had about 50 red dots around me. I raised shields. I died.Tip: Dont be an assassin in one of your first games.
CommanderJohnson Posted November 24, 2001 Author Report Posted November 24, 2001 Story #2: I wasn't really paying attention where I launched from, I was just in a rush to try out all the cool new stuff in BCM as opposed to Legacy.Tip #2: Pay attention where your launching from.

Pretty funny, whacky stuff you've been posting. You sound like Tac....back when he was, well, Tac.
Cmdr Nova Posted November 24, 2001 Report Posted November 24, 2001 Hehe. Well, he still is Tac, after all. Still wacky, still crazy, still sniffing those Medpacks. (He's got wits now, at least.)Hm. Pre-patch, I launched from the Insurgent station, New America, as a Ter/Mil....... I get control of the ship, try to planetfall as fast as I can to get away....... Too slow. Sliced me in two like a piece of bread. But playing as a SF Marine was probably the coolest experience I've had yet. Try it, and get used to the controls. You'll be impressed when you shift to the outside cameras, while walking on a station or ship. (F9 key)
Hunted Posted November 24, 2001 Report Posted November 24, 2001 Space Force Marine is freaking awesome, though hard as hell, it's absolutely incredible to just drift in and around a space station, play as an sfm once and you will realize the scale of this game, most of the time though if you wanna play sfm go as a cmdr and just hop out in battle

You won't be able to do that in the final patch because I will be disabling the debug info mode which allows that and the /i invincible flag.

Hunted Posted November 24, 2001 Report Posted November 24, 2001 thank you sc, how's it looking, nice?

Quode Posted November 27, 2001 Report Posted November 27, 2001 Well I chose the assassin path with a sentry ship. launched from Credian sector, Arenis, Khan. Was not attacked right off the bat. I intend to learn about the game in this mode, do a little trading and star hopping. My primary goal is to develop the ship as much as possible. When the script developer shows up I plan to develop a few missions for my assassin to attempt. My primary goal for now is to take my sentry and blow up the main station at earth. How about that. that seems a worthy goal for an assassin
Menchise Posted November 27, 2001 Report Posted November 27, 2001 It seems like a worthy goal for a fleet of assassins with a death wish.
Guest Posted November 27, 2001 Report Posted November 27, 2001 prolonged exposure to vacuum and bad gammulan beer has that effect. Sorry
