Emmett.hendrick Posted December 6, 2001 Report Posted December 6, 2001 I've said it before and I'll say it again I feel honoured to have had some input into the devolopment of such a great game. BCM has not left my cdrom since I got the game(and I doubt it will for some time to come)SC you and your great team ROCK
Gordon Posted December 6, 2001 Report Posted December 6, 2001 Yes SC, that was a pleasant suprise, I was not expecting to see each individual name listed. Thanks for letting us know that our efforts were appreciated.
GREG MILLER Posted December 6, 2001 Report Posted December 6, 2001 Thanks here as well Derek, as I to was surprised to see that list.
Supreme Cmdr Posted December 6, 2001 Report Posted December 6, 2001 Melanie650,I deleted that stupid thread you created before. The next time I have to delete another of your threads, I'm going to ban you from the site. I have had to delete four already and you're skirting the fine line.STAY ON TOPIC!Anyway, on to what I was saying. BCM is a team effort and apart from me, no one person is responsible for it. That includes the testers, Darrin, Peter etc. So, unless you know Andrei (which is highly unlikely) and have seen him post here (also unlikely), I don't know what you're thanking one person for. So, I'm not even sure what you're talking about. And why have you not registered the game and fixed your sig?[ 12-06-2001: Message edited by: Supreme Cmdr ]

If you're addressing this to me, I'm talking about the list of beta testers on the last page of the manualette included with the game. It was nice to see our names there. quote:And why have you not registered the game and fixed your sig? I was out of town for two weeks and just got back. My mail was held at the Post Office until yesterday. I only opened up the envelope from BMT last night. I haven't installed it yet. Don't worry -- it's never leaving my hard drive.
Supreme Cmdr Posted December 7, 2001 Report Posted December 7, 2001 Steve, are you Melanie650?[ 12-06-2001: Message edited by: Supreme Cmdr ]
Steve Schacher Posted December 7, 2001 Author Report Posted December 7, 2001 quote:Steve, are you Melanie650? I can be, if you want me to... No, wait...That would be the sycophantic behavior that outsiders and detractors claim goes on over here.
Guest Melanie650 Posted December 7, 2001 Report Posted December 7, 2001 Okay. I don't know if I should make a new topic for this or just respond here which will make it off topic. Since you asked here, i'll just respond to it in this forum cause i really don't think you'd appreciate me making a entirely new topic on why i haven't registered yet. My answer is this, I really HATE and extremely paranoid about information being collected about me. I only give out information about me when it's absolutely needed. I never register any games because of this reason. I don't see why game companies need to collect information about me. They got my money, I got their product.Anyways, If your worried about me getting a hacked version if this game. If you want, I can send you my valid CDKey which was printed on the CD envelope that was in my copy of BCM.If this is unacceptable and i'd have to get banned because I decided not to give my name address phone number and a bunch of other information that the registration asks. Then thats just the way it has to be. I enjoyed my time on this Forum but if it's gonna big of a deal. Then there is nothing more I can really do.Btw I did read about the part that you will not be giving the information to a third party member. While I do know that you will not give out this information to other companies, I'd still have my peace of mind if I didn't give out this information. It's true that this information is stored in other databases of other places of buisness, but if I have to have information like this stored in a database. I'd like to keep it to a minimum.[ 12-07-2001: Message edited by: Melanie650 ][ 12-07-2001: Message edited by: Melanie650 ]
Supreme Cmdr Posted December 7, 2001 Report Posted December 7, 2001 You will be banned from the forum effective 12 midnight tonite if you do not comply with the registration requirements. As I said in this thread. NO EXCEPTIONS. And I also said to provide as much info as possible. There is NOTHING in that reg DB that could be used for any purposes other than what it is intended for. And in fact, apart from your real name, you can skip the personal info (address, tel no etc) part because those fields are NOT mandatory. In fact, your posting priviledges are hereby revoked. And if you don't comply by the due time, your profile will be deleted and you will no longer have access to the board (which is now closed to the public, unless you are registered). That is all[ 12-07-2001: Message edited by: Supreme Cmdr ]

Charles Lindsey Posted December 10, 2001 Report Posted December 10, 2001 Late; but I want to say thank you as well. Was a shock. Haven't shown it to my parents yet. They still ask if I talk to "those people" who play "that game you like".
Guest Posted December 10, 2001 Report Posted December 10, 2001 I am late on this as well, but LONG ago we had a little discussion about this as well, and I thanked you then. But, I will take this opportunity to thank you again. It has been great fun and to see my name in the manual was a thrill to say the least. Thanks SC, I look forward to continuing to help you make this game the greatest game out there!! ( like it isn't already, but those reviews are in the 80's, time to get them up to the 3 digit mark!!) I am also home now, and back on my REAL machine and DSL connection, OH HAPPY DAY!! If my house weren't so trashed by the housesitter, I'd be even happier!! OK, and system info is now in my profile as well, geez, the sig is getting LONG!!! LOL [ 12-10-2001: Message edited by: Jaguar ]
Cmdr Nova Posted December 10, 2001 Report Posted December 10, 2001 Really, Jaguar..... 12 lines, not including spaces or that image. Is there a record for this on the forums? Great job, testers. And a wonderful job on the game, Derek! From me; a non-tester.
Wolferz Posted December 11, 2001 Report Posted December 11, 2001 I second all motions. Thanks for having me as a tester for THE ULTIMATE Space Sim, SC.You should have seen the look on the EB clerks face when I told her my name was in all of the BCM boxes on the shelf. Her reply was the typical one you get from the younger folks.... "Really?" I bet she was probably thinking.."So, what?"
