DCZX Posted March 14, 2003 Report Posted March 14, 2003 Hi, I bought BCM last week and have been playing it. I like it a little more than Freelancer in the respect that it feels more, "off rails". So far, I've been doing simple things, flying around, getting out of the ship, making planetfall and taking off, etc. can't wait to get into it more. One thing I miss is the "bridge view" that was in the old BC3K. I hope it comes back in some form or another in BCG. Does anyone have a list of "things to do" in ROAM mode by any chance? thx DCZX

Gammy hunting First off though.. and its a suggestion when you start off deploy your mining drones on the nearest planet with alot of rescorces *In the case of earth you would go to the moon* and leave your ship there =) I've found that if you leave your ship at the moon *Make sure hold is on* and take a shuttle out you can sometimes get cargo pods and sell whats in them becareful though, if you get an illigel item and dock with a legal station you get a fine not a good thing anywho I hope you enjoy your stay in this wonderful community with our most respected SC!

As for a list of things to do! One of the greatest things about BCM is freedom so basically do what you want - If you want to go Gammulan hunting - feel free - If you want to play Gammulan and go Galcom hunting - feel free - If you want to take a HAV for a joy ride on Obsidia - feel free - If you want......... well you get the idea. Roam mode is Freeform - no set missions assigned to you - just go - have fun - Do what you feel.
Supreme Cmdr Posted March 14, 2003 Report Posted March 14, 2003 There too many user controlled ships in the game to even attempt doing bridge/cockpit bitmaps for any of them. So, its not going to happen.

So, its not going to happen. And although I understand, support and agree with the SC 100% on the issue...I too missed them. I used past tense for a specific reason, as I don't even think twice about it now until someone brings the topic back up. I can guarantee that when I take the center seat tomorrow that I won't even feel a twinge of loss, the game is too engrossing for such a little thing to get in the way.
DCZX Posted March 14, 2003 Author Report Posted March 14, 2003 Thanks for the "things to do" replies. The bridge things were cool because it felt like I was in one of David Weber's Honor Harrington books. Even without them, the game still does a good job though.

Why dont we all go kill some people for no reason steal their cargo pods then run from the peacekeepers (whoever they be)till they give up, sleep for a while, wake up and do it again. In the words of Eminem "What ever happened to wilden out and being violent". Im really more of a loner though, if I do ever choose to go into militarial service how ever yours shall be the first I contact I really am having a fun time terrorizing my own crew and hapless little transports right now though. (ummm save first ) Vlad, Next to last forum is Misc Caste. You could post down there and see if you can scare up anyone else. A couple of independents are still active.

Its a good old fastioned time. I need money and kill=cargo cargo=money money=survival. But theres a ton of fun in killing the screams and the dead bodies, blowing a rasbery at persueing craft, and just being hated buy a ton of people makes mefeel like ive acomplished something. Just wanted to tell you no sorry needed but I started ranting so. COME AND GET ME DO GOODIES!!!!!

I am a Raider/Pirate I stole a Ter/Mil Super Carrier craft and now I run around the galaxy killing sencelessly, being a pain in mailia and police Arses, and stealing cargo. Finatial reasons, plus the cargo pieces are a nice trophy if the advasary put up a decent fight, Id like to have the captains head jared and displayed in cargo bay 2 but what cha guna do? If that was too much, My apologies. Yeah my computer sucks, but it runs BC:M Gold so thats all I need it for, and in the end thats all that matters. Im on a new one but it isn't running yet. still missing processer, Sounds Card, and RAM. P.S. It WILL be finished in time for MP.
