Can you believe people are giving BCMG a bad rating at EBgames.com based only on BK3000K very first release? I don't believe anyone who gave the game a bad review actually baught the game in the first place. One of them even claims that you release this game every six months in a new package (I wish O.o) You shouldn't be able to comment on the game unless you've baught it already. One guy even compared it to Freelancer O.o Boy of boy did I hate that one. I suggest everyone who really loves this game go over to EBgames.com and give it a good review to help balance out the silly bad reviews that haters are giving it.

Don't worry about. Its the same morons who keep doing it. And thats exactly why EB disabled review pages a while back.

Notice two things: first, there are only two scores given to BCMG over the course of 15 reviews: five stars and one star. That tells you right there that there's something else going on besides a game review.

Second, note the dates of the so-called "reviews." Except for the first five, they all predate BCMG's release. Why EBGames allows "reviews" to be posted for games that haven't even been released yet is beyond me, but BC is not the only game to suffer from it. Wise EBGames shoppers already know that EBGames customer "reviews" are less than worthless and don't even waste their time reading them--or at least I don't.

I just peeked at those reviews and since that wanker Scot Tabor keeps spamming my soapbox email address, knowing that I have the right to make them public, here are some.

This will give you an idea of the sort of mentality we're dealing with.

Oh, btw, CAT also banned him like a month ago.

When is the multiplayer patch for the BCM due out. Also, I have been trying to get on the forum but can't find my CDKEY from the disc envelop and your employee by the handle of CAT is very rude and uncooperative. I love this game and am planning on getting the BCMG edition but not if your people are this rude and unhelpful. Please let me know when I can download the multiplayer patch for BCM. I am trying to talk my Star Trek RPG clan to include this program in the infrastructure. If so then you will be selling ALOT more programs.

We have over 300 members.

Please advise

There is no such patch planned

You only need a CDKEY in order to post on the forum. You don't need it to read the forum.

Without it, you won't be approved to post on the forum. Those are the rules and they are

not open to interpretation.

Not sure what you're talking about

You know, you people are treading on thin ice on the false advertisment law. You shouldn't of put the notion of multiplayer in the consumers head and then not deliver. BCM should have the ability to multiplayer. When you promise stuff you have to deliver. Or you will loose your customer pool. Just like you have lost me and my clan. I will see to it that anybody that I know not buy any of your product again. I have been convincing them for months about buying the Gold Edition. Now I am going to change that. They had stated that your game was to difficult to learn. I have been defending the game. But if you are not going to bring out the promised multiplayer patch for the BCM. Then why bother with any of your products.

Put that in your column.

If I could get on then I wouldn't have to bother you. Is there somebody else there that I can talk too? Will you issue me another CDKEY for this program. After all I am buying the BCM Gold Edition in April 1. Doesn't that count for anything?

I have told my Star Trek Clan about the Gold Edition and they are planning on buying it too. Doesn't word of mouth and recommendations mean anything to your company. BTW, who is the CEO of your company?

You were previously banned from the website forum by Derek. As such, you stand absolutely

no chance of ever posting on that board. Ever.

Owning the games don't give you any rights of access. If you need tech support, you can

use the tech support address or read the forum. You just cannot post on the forum and

you're not going to be allowed to.

Ok.... I realize that I am new to BCM ect ect ect...

I have a few things to say on about the issue of flaming, bad reviews ect.

1. My friend Tim recommended me to BCM about a month or so ago saying that it was "like starcraft but extreamly more advanced" so 10 or so of my buddies and I got it and had a hard time learning it but we liked it none-the-less

(1 thing about the game I like is the buying everything you need for your ship and crew- anyone who has ever played X-com would realize that this expands and makes the play more challenging... not inhibit it like one certain flame/review said)

2. Try finding ANY game besides EQ or UO that have that big of a 3d playing field and options, models ect

3. We did think that the game would rule on a LAN but we were not really disapointed because the game offered so much entertainment as it is.

That my friends, is what ANYONE who has accually looked at the content and appreciates in-depth games would say (like me)

And accually I used to build ship models from Lightwave, Bryce5, 3dSMax ect and I know how hard it is... plus implementing them into a game via Blender was hard enough (I can almost bet money that another program was used for that though) Game playing is fun and is about to be part of my life because I am about to get out of this stupid major (Computer Science Tech.... Networking, troubleshooting and such) and goto UT Dallas where I can get a M.A. in Game Programming and interactive arts (Creator of quake and doom teaches there)

but i just went off subject..

So BCM is a great game, I am getting BCMG also and the BC after that, and the one after that, ect.

And anyone who says that BCM is a bad game is just gaming illerterate

I think it is funny that people are posting bad reviews about BCMG basd on BC3k O.o Not to mention when I first read the review of BC3k when it came out I was like, "wow, kewl game. To bad it has bugs." Then I waited and you guys released a new version for free O.o It still didn't work for me. I downloaded it over and over again with a standard dial-up modem. Finally when you release that final version you have now of BC3K I downloaded it via Underdogs and got it to work. I loved that game so much. When I saw that BCM was already out I baught it right away and I've been hooked ever since. My friends hate me because I Won't shut up about how this game is so much better than whatever game they have ;P My friend is Beta testing for Starwars Galaxies and all I say is, "THAT'S NOTHING COMPARED TO BCO!"

I guess what I'm saying is, I don't see how I can be totally in love with this game and then there be another guy that totally hates it based on false information O.o

yeah that's pretty sad. it's probably going to take a high score in a well known mag for these types of idiots to realize the true greatness of this game.

Oi

When I first read about this game, it was when BCM was released. (PCGamer Review 77%) I wanted it even though the reviews were mediocre. Couldn't find it.

And then this month I go to my local Gamestop and I see BCMG. On a whim I made my purchase and I loaded this game up.

After reading the manual cover to cover I started playing and playing and playing and haven't stopped. I found myself in love with this game! Mr. Smart is brillant in delivering a game that allows me to be a boring Miner/Scientist to a Marine. And if these weak minded people want to trash a wonderful prgm let'em, we truly have found a gem in a desert of mediocrity and banality. I raise my pint to you SC.

PS Sorry this is long.

the first review i read of it (BCM) was from CGCDmag (im sure SC knows the issue) denny atkins did the review i believe.

i read that review, and i was wholly impressed, so i checked out the 3000ad website and found out BC3k was a free d/l, so i downloaded it and was impressed at the "freeness" of it all. the next month i got the demo cd from cgcdmag for BCM, and i knew i had to have it... the rest is history.

right now, im holding of on BCMG due to the fact im on dialup now... nuff said.

as for the flamers... i just write it off as one of 2 things... 1) theyre 12 year olds trying to feel like big boys by flaming something thats been flamed by just about everyone else, 2)theyre adults who got the crap beat out of them on a daily basis in school, and are trying to feel like they belong by flaming something thats been flamed by just about everyone else.

this is a niche title. it appeals to a small group of people. most of the flamers lack the mental capacity to deal with a game on so grand a scale as BCM and they feel intimidated by it... so they try and break it down so they dont feel so bad anymore... then it just snowballs. i think they use BC3k as an "out".

IMO

The only thing i hate about BCM is that my disk is missing, and i cant get to an EB to buy one, and i cant order it until i get my credit card

and dont make fun of the scientists, thats all i do in BCM, i can play any game and blow stuff up, but only in bcm can i study the oceans and physics, i even found a way to run faster than the fastest ship, (probably a bug)

i can even run over to a shuttle, land on earth, get into a car, and go to a base.

gr8 game!
