Hello all. After finally getting my game to run as well as working on a campaign, I find something odd. It seems after some time of using the APC to try and take out an enemy base, the main gun seems to fail, that is, either has no more fire capability or begins to lose its' percentage of charge, with no further firing capability. I've looked around and find nothing thus far explaining this and wonder too, is this the case with any other support craft? Or is there a "cool down" time after extended use? TIA!

Maybe your turrent got damaged? I've had this happen many times before. If it gets damadged, you may as well start running over the enemy instead.

Cheers!

Thanks for the link/info Mihau, I must've forgotten about the fact that the SCs need "charging" before launch. In addition, here's one "from the front", was trying to decide where to go, from the Mars region when a BC Mk1 was gettin' attacked, it was INS. Well, even being a commercial, armed trans, I figured, what the heck, try and tractor it....guess what? It worked! Then, hauled him back to the Starpath for my reward. Then, while being attacked on Mars by a couple of INS fighters, thought, okay, want me, come and get me! I turned, made one of them a trac target and got him too! Oops, talked too much, hope I don't make anyone mad, but as I said, thanks for the info, it is appreciated alot! TTFN!

Glad to help. Next step is to take something more armed&armored and try to take'em out with your guns. Gives much more satisfaction and fun. By the way, didn't this BC mk1 attack you with it's pta system while you were tractoring it?

Oddly enough, no it didn't. I can only attribute that to one thing and I'm not sure this is the reason, but, since they were being attacked by an enemy and I was, I suppose to them, a neutral in terms of animosities, my maneuver was taken as a saving one, not an aggressive one. That's the only idea I can come up with as to why I was not attacked while tractoring them. And here is another "good fortune" bit of shop talk, while on Mars and near a MIL base, somewhere or another a cargo pod was dropped near my shuttle's location, just after SOMEthing went "boom", then, upon closer examination and later gathering it, it not only had a few good spare parts, but a Pyron ODS! Talk about finding a diamond in a coal mine! Anyway, take care and see you around!

I've found that in general ships will not attack once tractored. Of course fighters can be annoying while you are dragging a carrier but no pta or main cannons, SC can probably expound further on the whys and wherefores of this.

I was asking that because I remember once playing BC3K few years ago I got hit really hard by a tractored carrier (which was fully operational). Guess things changed a bit in BCM, gonna give it a try this evening.

I was under the impression that when you got a ship in tractor it went systems down. I've never been fired upon by a ship that I had tractored. And every time I've been attacked by a ships support craft they usually launced right before I got the tractor on it. I've never had support craft come out after the tractor beam is engaged. Of course, this could have just been a long streak of luck on my part, but I've been given the impression that a tractored ship is dead in the water until you let it go.
