GhengisX Posted June 8, 2003 Report Posted June 8, 2003 have I experienced such reward and frustration in nearly = measure in a sim. / example: control alt s before exit to ensure restart of milieu. hang on resume hangs on "reload ok" hangs 5 seconds after good load crash to desktop copy save to safew folder start new game copy in the goods fail to load again... uninstall reinstall patch start new game copy in save game stuff load save runs for 5 days straight w/o a problem! i LOVE/hate this extraordinary piece of coding genious!!! it is persnickedy though.

I have continued my roam campaign, that I started with the retail build, after patching without a problem. I do occasionally hang on a "resume" but then I just reboot and use "restore" instead and that always works. I'm probably misunderstanding you, because I believe you always document in the VCF if patching invalidates your saves.

GhengisX Posted June 9, 2003 Author Report Posted June 9, 2003 it's all good. i didn't intend this post as a tech issue statement or a complaint, hence it being in the general discussions area and its lack of specific technical detail. just a mention of the lengths to which i go to get my BC fix. no price too high and no problem i'm not willing to spend hours figuring out so i can run the sim. i'm hooked. ps: it is my roam campain and the first time my officers AI are close to 100. pss: the saves i transferred were not even showing as reloadable. i read the save game share info and copied only the saved game parts, not the player info, and got them to restore that way. seems the player and resume info was corrupted. i wasn't gonna loose two months of my first real career if i could help it!!!

I, as you, (but not to the degree) constantly deal with people who want an open interactive answer mochane, and are unwilling to answer any of their own questions, even with the info up their wazoooooo. i was trying to demonstrate: with effort comes reward and rarely is anything free. long term gratification requires effort. this sim is rare in that.... any other POS (Perfectly Operating Software) would have been off my machine in an instant. Ghengis out.
