i am SO lost......

i am fully prepared to be insulted. insult all you want... but at least help before you do.

i have NO idea what's going on in this game.

i read the manual (honestly, i did).

i've never played a battlecruiser game before.

i loaded up the game, got my configuration on,

and did the next obvious thing... went to the tutorial/training section of the game...

ok... so... starting out as the lowest, a regular

first person marine career i loaded the game and was in space.. outside a ship... i used the controls to float around and suddenly heard

"urgent message received"

sweet!

someone's gonna tell me what to do...

nah dude.

because i can't find this urgent message anywhere.

i open the commlink, it has the opening text in there, cool.. and underneath it lists the new message, which the only text associated with is

quoted as "urgent message received".... uhm..

ok..?

what the...

ok so maybe this text is clickable... err.. nope.

where the hell is this message? ok whatever i

can find it later i guess.

so i'm floating now... wicked... the planet next

to me looks pixelated but hey... can't have everything.

ok so i've gathered that this cross in the

upper left is some sort of waypoint indicator...

right on.

there's a v on it... that's GOT to be a waypoint.

i go there...

nothing's there.

nothing.

i search around the area for 20 mins..

nothing.

ok whatever.. we'll try a different training.

load up the captain training.

big hud comes up... w00t! looks complicated! w00t!

sounds like this will actually be fun.

then i hear...

"urgent message received"

...i begin banging my head on the desk.

please... dear god please... ANYONE out there..

who might happen to know of any better documentation...

or a real tutorial...

or at least where to find what these messages

actually say in them...

dear god please.. help me.

UPDATE:

i went to an instant action scenario..

the first one on the list..

this time i was in a small ship...

i saw a "sega genesis" style portrait" of a

man in the upper left and heard

"urgent message received"

.....not again...

so anyway...

i was in the ship and the hud came up and

was confronted with a basic task i could

not perform...

...i can't move...

i try my keyboard (w,s,a,d)...nothing

i try my joystick ....hahha.. nothing.

i try my mouse... nothing until....

i click the left mouse button twice..

and i see text on the screen that says:

"congradulations on completing this mission"

please... if you've ever been new at any game

and need any kind of help... please..

do the same for me.

this is getting rediculous.

Lessee... as the usual goes. Register, and place the registration link in your sig. (So that it links you like mine does.)

Second, use the search function and check that first. THEN ask a question.

*snip*

No one can help you if you don't explain exactly what it is you're doing in graphic detail.

*snip*

Please STOP doing this. If I get one more complaint about the way you respond to people or about any of your posts, your posting rights will be revoked for a month.

I learned to play Battlecruiser, by myself, without a manual, way back in 1998 when I didn't even have an internet connection other than a lousy AOL dailup.

I fail to see your problem.

The best way to learn BC is to play BC.

your vast help in my letter to support.

What Tigerclaw was trying to tell you (in his own way) is that you should add a "system profile information"-link in your signature.

This is not the same as "profile".

For your urgent message: The message above the line where it says you had a urgent message, is the urgent message. In your case it was a message you already read, but it is send after you anyway, so you won't forget.
