Can't beat the Battlecruiser Mk3. Besides it's speed there's just nothing better than that squarish big-tech low-tech look. Can't help feeling like I'm driving a tank in space and need to just go head to head with everything I see .

i have 2 favorites.

the stormcarrier and the MK2. nothing can demenstarte supremacy as much as the stormcarrier.

but i like a sleek yet powerful design and the MK2 wins there.

The only thing that impresses me about stormcarriers are the fighters. Without the fighters, stormcarriers are just too slow to fend off attacks by any other craft, especially if you know where the sweet spot is on those beasts.

As to an actual favorite, it all depends on what role I want to play but here's some idea:

MKII or Megaron.

I've learned to hate the Battlecruisers.

Miserable amount of turrets, a cruiser can beat the living wahoo outta them (not to mention a fighter). Only good thing is they cloak. And they look good. They're chewy too!

I'll take any of the other carriers any day. I love the Nightstar. Blue looks better. I wish it would carry 6 light fighters instead, being light and all, but what can I say? I love its flight deck. Reminds me of *warning: flashback* when I stupidly tried to manually land on the Tiger's Claw back in WC1.

Nightstar Heavy Carrier, without a doubt.

It just looks so cool, plus you get the Shuttle Mk IIIs which look cool as well.

And it gets the coolest name. Can't lose with a Nightstar.

Have you ever driven one? It may just be a matter of my perception, but it seems like the turrets on the Aestrom have a better firing arc toward the front of the craft, and hence hit a lot more.

1)Carrier: Battlecruiser MK II

Got a nice, stealthy look to it.(All the BC's look nice, though)

2)Cruiser: Garid

It Looks cool, its fast and it has good firepower.

It would be nice to know what those firing arcs are. Ive noticed on a few ships that they dont fire in all directions. Maybe that will change with RC5. Gona try that patch tonight

So far, I'd have to say the Stormcarrier is my favorite. The Firestorm comes in second though, mainly because I like the decent forward firing arc the its turrets have.

the MK2 may not have many turrents but it can sneak up on you.........

That just happened to me today. I was attacking a raider starstation with my own MKII and was dodging some fighters when I realize I've had a raider MKII on my arse for some time, didn't even realize it....they are VERY sneaky!

I have to go with the Nightstar I'm afraid mostly because it reminds me of the SDF1 but its pretty quick good manoveurability and nice amount of turrets...

Give me a Nightstar or give me death!

Not to mention the hyper drive recharge time, the storage copacity, the number of shots fired per min, and the way cool support craft. I especialy like the ALINIX. It kinda reminds me of a mini Imperial Storm Crusier.

I have to agree; those lines, that colour, the FIREPOWER!

Took out a Merc. Warmonger who was targeting me, with just my main guns and didn't get a scratch.

Also took down a Credian Merc. Starstation and it's accompanying fighters, again with barely a dent in my shields (would have captured the damn thing, but forgot to turn off my PTA. D'oh!)

With a single exception of not being able to use any artifacts, the Sunflash is my ride all the way. Manuverability is good, and enough turrets to feed you live lasers for breakfast, lunch, dinner and supper!!!

One thing I love about this forum is how you don't get whacked for thread necromancy. *ahem!*

Anyway, here's my faves:

Heavy Carrier: Megaron, definately. What nobody seems to have mentioned is it's heavy compliment of fighers. Two super fighters plus two heavy fighers make it great for patrol duty over a location with lots of gates. (I play an Insurgent based on New Frontier, y'see)

If one of the other gates gets threatened, you know your fighters have the firepower to deal with it.

The Megaron is one of the few carriers that can hold it's own as well as a cruiser can.

Heavy shielding, decent thrust and maneuverability and very powerful turrets means that I've taken on 3 Gammy Carriers with full fighter Escort and only taken damage by accidentally ramming one.

Heavy Cruiser: Warmonger. It's got the Hyperspace speed needed for fast interdictions, which is nescessary when you don't have anything in the way of a fighter compliment.

I've tried to love the Spacestar, but I just can't. It's too slow in Hyperspace to catch anything slower than a Carrier and has woefully inadequate weaponry.

Super Cruiser: Most definately the Sunflash. 12 PTA turrets and 45 second hyperspace. If this thing could carry 10 marines I'd never use anything else.

Armed Transport: Perhaps using something so combat oriented goes against the whole point of flying a transport, but I simply adore the Generis.

It looks cool, it's got very nice PTA turrets and about the only decent amount of shielding for any Transport. About the only other one I'd even think of using is the Canlon.

Anyway, as you can tell I'm very defensive in nature. I love my shields and my PTA turrets!
