Hi,

I'm new to BCM. I have get many questions about this game that I am getting into, if that is OK with you guys.

Anyhow 1st question:

How fast does game time go compared to time in the real world? To me it seems 1 minute game time is 1 minute real world time, but I am not sure.

Other questions will come later.

yep that is prettymuch how it works... so find a nice quiet section of the galaxy, set your fighters to patrol and defend, put your AE off duty and goto bed... get up the next morning and come back on duty and try to fix what Resnig screwed up in the night and reequip the marines with proper rifles instead of the white flags resnig issued.

Resnig is French?

LOL!

Reminds me of something I saw recently, can't remember where, maybe ebay.

For sale: One French rifle. Never been fired, laid down once.

EDIT:

Post edited out due to its awfulness. Didn't realise I could find stuff in the previous games manual and appendix, I thought it would be in the current one. I also wouldn't have thought to look for 'replace fighters'.

At least Tyrn didn't quote the more stupid part of my post. It was stupid, not funny.

I'll do a search and try to think before I post in the future.

I am having some trouble doing some stuff. I tried to mine Titan and lost 3 shuttles in two ways. Two crashed on the moon and one blew up when it came to dock with me after being chased by a Raven or something. I bought a shuttle in the spare parts section of Tradcom or whatever it is. It now takes up most of cargo bay one. I have been trying to get it so I can use it (launch it), but I have had no luck. How do I make a shuttle asset sitting in my cargo bay launchable?

Do a forum search on replace fighter, the process is the same.

Speaking of which, is there anywhere that describes what each item does that is in tradcom? well the stuff in spare parts anyway.

Download the manuals for B3CK:

Manual

Appendix

I would highly recommend them both to every new commander.

Also I have had another problem, I had a fight and launched my fighters, when they docked their icons were red on my BRIDGEVIEWER (to me that says they are destroyed). It said they were perfectly fine in Tactical. I managed to send some system engineers (I think) to 'Ready Craft' and now they are a yellowy colour now. Anyway I can't launch the fighters, I can just turn their commlink on and off. What has happened to my fighters and what do I need to do?

You've already done it...it takes time to prep a fighter. (You can check the time required to complete the prep as well as assigning flight engineers using the Tactical computers Launch subsystem.

Also is there a place which I can find descriptions of the orders I can give my crew? Is there a map of my ship anywhere so that I can plan where to put my marines if I am boarded?

All crew orders are issued from the Tactical system and are very self-explanitory. Do you have any specific quetions? As to stationing your marines. There is no map, and you can only assign them to three locations: MediBay (unarmed), Shuttles and OTV's (armed or unarmed). Your best bet is to make sure they Prep for Combat and then assign them to search. Do a forum search on intruders for more tips.

Anyway, hope you guys sort out my game troubles here.

This might sound somewhat harsh but as the forum description says

quote:

You have an extensive manual and appendix, as well as a bunch of BC vets. Don't misuse them by being complacent because you'll get burned to a fine crisp.

But don't take this too personally, I just want to set the record straight. A little easy searching on your part would have answered most of your questions. While people around here are more than willing to help out, we're much happier to help when it's obvious that the person asking the question has put some effort into solving their own problems first. Now that that is out of the way....

Welcome to the forums and enjoy the power of commanding the center seat.

No worries Tyrn.

I had the deck plates in front of the airlock waxed to a high gloss and there is a new auto sensor system installed on the doors. the inner door closes automatically when a lazy newb goes sliding in,then the S.A.E.S. kicks in and wooosh
