Samten Posted January 28, 2004 Report Posted January 28, 2004 Subj It looks like they are just trade goods (at least I never seen them being used on my ship). But you get 10 of them at start up... why? Just to sell them off? Manual clearly explains the need for med and vac packs, but nothing about subj... And question no 2: What is the min AI required for my pilots to fire all 10 vagrants, not just 5. Currently they are between 40 and 50 AI with 50 CM each ... and still use only 5 missiles. Samten.
martinstretton Posted January 30, 2004 Report Posted January 30, 2004 The medicines are for your crew. Somtimes on away team activities your crew get infected by a virus, the meds cure them.
Samten Posted January 30, 2004 Author Report Posted January 30, 2004 Hmm, I never did much of the planetside operations, so you probably right. The only thing which makes me worried is the manual - 8.3 Medical & Cloning Operations "... Vacpaks are used to treat infections and radiation contamination...". Anyway, thanks for the answer! I'll try to experiment with medicines tonight. Any ideas about the second question? Samten.
martinstretton Posted January 31, 2004 Report Posted January 31, 2004 The second question? Have you checked that you have the correct loadout? ATA missiles will not fire in space. If the FC profile is to suppress air defences your flight engineers will load ATA missiles use patrol, intercept or search and destroy. My pilots regularly come back with 2,3 or 4 missiles, it all depends on how crowded it gets during battle. Remember your not the only fighters out there! Hope that helps.
Samten Posted January 31, 2004 Author Report Posted January 31, 2004 Ok, I did some research last night. First of all, I am talking about BCMG 1.00.01 (or 1.01.00). (I'll upgrade to 1.01.01 soon...) Terran Military Firestorm Roam So, I beamed 5 marines to the planet (Gamma 1 actually ). 2 were radiated, 1 both radiated and infected, 1 just infected, but he managed to infect 2 more marines after arrival (they probably kiss each other when coming back ) I sent them all to the medibay and selected the option - Vaccinate. The results: 2 vac pacs used to treat every radiation sickness and 1 vac pac for infection. No medicines used! So the first question still stands. As for the second question, like I said, I don't do much of the planetside operations, so we are talking about space battles. I figired out that Vagrants are the best STS missiles. I load 10 vagrants per fighter (actually, my TO is doing that). Profile - Intercept. My pilots send the first 5 missiles flying in a blink of the eye (well, in a big battle they spend them in, say, 2 mins). But that's it! No matter how many enemies left and how much time they fly, the other 5 missiles stay in their weapon pods. Why? Samten.
Samten Posted January 31, 2004 Author Report Posted January 31, 2004 Just a small addition to the previous post (edit time had been elapsed ). http://www.3000ad.com/ubbcgi/ultimatebb.cg...25;t=000001;p=4 There was the same question (about missiles) in that thread... Well, it looks like the answer is that the AI of my pilots is low. So my question is: What EXACTLY must it be to allow use of all 10 weapons? And, if you are not tired to answer ... Here is another question: What are FP items for? Again, manual say: 8.4 Team Deployment Operations "... require a Combat Kit that contains rations, weapons, ammo, and a portable jetpack..." (Howerer, SC once said: http://www.3000ad.com/ubb/ultimatebb.php?u...25;t=000001;p=2 /first post on the page/ "Combat Kits don't contain weapons and ammo." Hmm, it might be about the different version of the game...) When I look to the inventory screen, I can see that my marines (when READY) always have weapons and ammo... I tried to buy FP items and then ordered my marines to prep for combat... They didn't take anything but combat kits. So, do you need those FP items (when playing Commander carreer) or they are just trade goods? Samten.
martinstretton Posted February 10, 2004 Report Posted February 10, 2004 Hello Samten just a thought what value dog fighting skills do your pilots have?
