Bammer Posted November 5, 2004 Report Posted November 5, 2004 This fixed the problem... I've spent the past couple days trying to get UC to run stable on my system. Thinking that i had followed the patching directions correctly, (do not attempt to do anything at 3 am and expect good results) I wasted a bunch of SC's time...sorry... but I reinstalled the game, patched correctly, started at Earth Gamahqhq and "BOOM"... CTD. ....back to the forums and i noticed this reply for CTD's. I have 1G DDR RAM, one slot is an XMS Corsair PC2700 512MB, the other, unfortunatly, was purchased at a name brand retailer, and its overclocking abilities are "0"... As the post said, I turned down the the RAM speed from 166(333Mhz) to 133(266Hhz), rebooted and restarted the game. This seemed to fix the problem, but i wanted to be sure so, i took the Generic DDR out, reset the RAM speed back to 166(333Mhz)and have been playing all night and love every-freakn-thing about this game....!!! go red sox Bammer
Spindoktor Posted November 5, 2004 Report Posted November 5, 2004 Ugh. Always use matching RAM sticks.
