Põdi Posted July 11, 2001 Report Posted July 11, 2001 Anybody fill me in on this series? I was back in the UK recently and saw one episode, kinda weird but intriguing. How long has it been running etc etc.
Hasenau Posted July 11, 2001 Report Posted July 11, 2001 German made series I believe. Only six or seven Episodes. Commercial flop except for Eva Habermann's skimpy outfits. I considered it too weird to be entertaining.Full name is "LEXX - The Dark Zone"I think LEXX is the starship that needs flesh as fuel... Don't take my word for it tho...
Kush Posted July 11, 2001 Report Posted July 11, 2001 Actually it's a Canada/Germany co production. One of the actors on it is a friend of mine. I've never seen an episode because he's warned me off it. The money is German, the writing is Canadian. (Meaning the writing is horrendous.)

Fendi Posted July 11, 2001 Report Posted July 11, 2001 Kush does that mean you can get Eva's number for me? She really is hot ain't she
Kush Posted July 11, 2001 Report Posted July 11, 2001 Micheal McManus (I'm not sure about the spelling on the last name.) He's a very cool guy and a great actor. Mostly seen him in theatre.Fendi...Yes she's hot.No I can't get you her number.
Parias Posted July 11, 2001 Report Posted July 11, 2001 It's certainly a unique show, I'll give it that much.
Adam Thomas Posted July 11, 2001 Report Posted July 11, 2001 Only six or seven episodes? You gotta be kidding! Its in its third series over here in the UK at the mo!
Wolferz Posted July 11, 2001 Report Posted July 11, 2001 Same here in the US. Third season running now, and by all indications, somewhat a cult hit. The shows writing is so campy it's entertaining. I especially enjoyed the operatic episode, Frennin Gee (sp). That one displayed some real talent. LOL
Guest Posted July 12, 2001 Report Posted July 12, 2001 Agreed Wolfe, I have it filmed. That episode was called "Brigadoom". It was a VERY neat ending to the series.. and so great that it is there when you actually see Kai's story (and if you dont know it by now, the whole series revolves around Kai!).The LEXX is the name of this ship, yes. And damn that love slave... I want her clone! The LEXX movie/2 hour special was also awesome.. and the ending of the show was simply *too* good. Kudos to the writers, finally something worth watching after B5 hit the dirt!"I especially enjoyed the operatic episode, Frennin Gee "BrunnenG is the name of Kai's people. You can actually get the entire episode in MP3's the songs are quite good.[ 07-11-2001: Message edited by: Tac ]
Anthony Posted July 13, 2001 Report Posted July 13, 2001 When the show first came on I hated it. Now I like it..kinda grows on ya like some kinda fungus. Just gotta know what they're gonna do next. Anyways It shows on SCIFI Channel here and I believe they'll start showing the 4th season this Friday or Saturday. Commercials I seen had them here on earth. Like Wolferz said..Its campy!!
Wolferz Posted July 13, 2001 Report Posted July 13, 2001 Thanks for that heads up on the BrunnenG, TAC. I knew I had it wrong. It's been awhile since I've had time to watch TV. When I do find time, it's always "Farscape", "Stargate SG-1", or whichever flavor of Star Trek re-run is playing when I turn on the TV. Oh, and LEXX too. My lady watched a few of the first episodes of LEXX with me, and she said, "This show doesn't make any sense." My reply, "Why does it have to make sense?", "It's fantasy sci-fi." What's really strange is, she began to like the show when the second season started. It's odd, twisted, and totally off the cuff. Just look at the crew. An idiot, a love slave that is half human, half lizard ( think of the tongue ), a love struck robot sans body, and a Zombie assassin. Not to mention some of the "things" ( for lack of a better description ) that they have come across in their travels. Then there is the LEXX itself. For once a show that dares to look at the more human aspects of living. Shower, kitchen, and of course the crapper, are all there. That's why it's so appealing. Although I can't imagine having my toilet eat me. The writers are a very talented bunch of SICK PUPPIES!
Guest Posted July 13, 2001 Report Posted July 13, 2001 Yep, Derek might borrow some tech hints from Lexx... like, what do you think LEXX crew uses as toilet paper? There's a TONGUE that comes up from the toilet and.. umm.. you know what happens. Such cool ship tech definetely should be given to the Insurgents
Kush Posted July 14, 2001 Report Posted July 14, 2001 I stand corrected Maybe the show isnt that bad after all.
