I think what he did was right in some ways, but wrong in others. The store should have taken the software back if it was unopened, and Microsoft should have accepted back the software if it was within the allowed time limit. Since neither of these things happened, he should be allowed to sell the software on E-Bay like he did, but with a maximum limit on each at the $60 he paid for them. That way he would have his money back but he wouldn't have made any profit.

Just my opinion, though.

(Is is cool that he stood up to Microsoft and made them back down, even if they were partially right.)

He deserved compensation for wasting his time attempting to return the software. Too long has big biz been getting away with bully tactics.

I would have been their worst nightmare. Except for Milady, who has dealt with Microsoft and got her money back for two copies of XP Pro. This was long after thirty days from the purchase date and the software had been opened and installed. I think she WAS their worst nightmare.
