The Rogue Nation of Soback is a huge, economically powerful nation, renowned for its barren, inhospitable landscape. Its hard-nosed, hard-working population of 224 million are either ruled by a small, efficient government or a conglomerate of multinational corporations; it's difficult to tell which.

The large, pro-business government juggles the competing demands of Law & Order, Defence, and Healthcare. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 6%. A healthy private sector is dominated by the Automobile Manufacturing industry.

A National Academy regulates grammar and usage, fur coats have become the latest fashion trend, convicted felons are forced into slavery for their crimes, and referendums can be called for any law at the request of at least one third of the voting population. Crime is moderate. Soback's national animal is the eagle, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the chrip.
