Grizzle Posted October 23, 2004 Report Posted October 23, 2004 I'm not a big Star Trek fan, but I do like geeky things and cool gadgets (who here doesn't?). THIS is sure to set you on geek overload. Haven't played with it enough to decide on it's practicality, but it sure is fun to mess with.
Wolferz Posted October 23, 2004 Report Posted October 23, 2004 You are only a Star Trek geek if you know what LCARS stands for.....

Library Computer Access and Retrieval System Heh, you beat me to it. I have to admit... I am VERY tempted to try it out. Fortunately for me, I have a friend who is 10x the Star Trek geek that I am - so I'll let him play with it first
Grizzle Posted October 23, 2004 Author Report Posted October 23, 2004 If anyone decides to try it, at the top of the try/download page is a link to the forum so you can grab the 2.x beta, I'd recommend it. It's got tons of cool factor and it hasn't caused any problems on my PC, plus it's not a *true* replacement for the windows shell but rather sits on top of it. You can cancel it anytime and you're right back to your own desktop. Go ahead...give it a try...nothing to lose
Guest Posted October 24, 2004 Report Posted October 24, 2004 Very interesting. I like it. If they made it so it could replace the windows interface it'd be very cool. I like the trek-type interface but I dont like the trek stuff in it (aka picture of a starship in it, federation/galaxy menu items, etc... id like it to be a windows interface not a trekkie geek interface)
Wolferz Posted October 25, 2004 Report Posted October 25, 2004 /puts a check mark on the list by the name of Scrivener.
Viper Posted October 27, 2004 Report Posted October 27, 2004 Mebbee... If Someone made the UC computer system into a desktop.. That would be cool.
