SEGA Consoles was bought out by Nintendo a couple of years ago to squash the spectacular Dreamcast that would have killed the GameCube... note after assimilating the Consoles division of Sega there was a delay in the production of the GameCube; rumor is, that the similarites of the GC and the Dreamcast (They both have very similar technologies) were because the Dreamcast team was put on the GC design team. SEGA games was always seperate... I doubt they'll be making any new consoles, but you never know. If they do I hope they take the American markets like they have the Japanese markets. The Genesis and Dreamcast were WAAAAAY beyond their times, and had some spectacular games. Heh, I still play my old genesis from time to time, its just a great gaming system, and the graphics really don't look that bad at all, unlike the SNES... I couldn't stand playing games that were on both systems on the SNES' at my friends' houses... ugly as crap and I didn't like the controllers either. The Saturn was a disappointment, but that got rushed out because of demand in Japan and competiton from the Playstation. The Dreamcast was a spectacular system that unfortunately didn't have much time for many games to come out since several months after its release Nintendo did a hostile takeover of Sega Console Systems, Inc. And that is the story of Sega Consoles.

I'd have to disagree with the Mac thing... Macs are far superior in Sound Design and Editing, which is my career field, as well as Video Editing. But yea, thats cool about the Emachine; I've heard good things about that particular model as well.

2 Tons shouldn't have been that bad... We've got a 2 ton here and I'm sure that we're hotter than Birmingham gets most days of the summer (St. Simons in South Georgia) and it works great. Heh, get a 3 ton though if you can afford it, I'll bet it'll make your house a meat freezer . I managed to sprain my ankle so I've been playing a bunch of UC. Haven't tried the online bit yet though. Any brave commanders wanna try it out with me sometime this week or next weekend?

It was inevitble, it just happened now, and no matter what we do, it will happen again, maybe not by terrorists from the middle east, but maybe from china, europe, Eurasia... It can happen from anywhere, even from our own soil! {rant} Terrorist has become a racial slur for Middle Easterners now... my neighbors, one of who is from Pakistan, were called terrorists because they told some boys to get off their lawn because they had just sprayed it with pesticide... Whoooo hoooooo this is sort of out of severe happiness that I'm even writing this; but after a 3 hour drive I am HOME!!!! Wooooooooo hoooooooo.... On the other side, now that I'm home I'm gonna start building that webserver I mentioned... anybody interested on some space for UC fleet sites?

*Sigh* The Military missed their chance for me to join. I would have signed a waiver (for my asthma) to go to the Naval Academy last summer. Oh well, they missed their chance. Kal, I don't agree with the men and women thing. Hell, I don't agree with a draft at all but when it comes down to it, many women don't have the physical aptitude to make it in the military, and the DIs at bootcamp don't need to spend the extra time to get a bunch of draftee women (or men for that matter, many men don't have the physical aptitude for the military; some by disorders like me God I hate Asthma) into shape. Draft implies that we need troops and we need troops fast. I don't think that the situation in Iraq has risen to that level yet. Oh, and I agree with Shingen, you don't volunteer to "Die for your country" you volunteer to protect your country and the lives of others. If we we're getting invaded ourselves maybe that would apply, but then again, I'd be forming a militia down here... Don't mess with Georgia.

I disagree, I just turned my account back on a couple of weeks ago, and I've got to say I'm impressed. In January I do remember that it was really unbalanced however. They've fixed most of those issues. As for it not being buggy at release did you EVER play as a bounty hunter in the first 4 months Tac? Nothing for the BH worked right, except the carbine skills. They ripped it apart and put it back together, but now its a decent game. It feels a bit like EQ, with buffs and everything, but you know what they say; If it ain't broke don't fix it. I'm enjoying it a lot more than I was when I cancelled it in Febuary. I canceled for basically the same reasons you did Tac, and I've got to say that having just returned, I'm impressed. Finally they added in the "Imperial Crackdown" stuff... spice buffs aren't nearly as common in PvP now since you can get in deep crap with the imperials for it. Plus, just because you have buffs doesn't mean you can't get owned bad by another person of the same calibre. Trust me, I know. Thats cool that it sounds like they might want you on the space expansion. That would be awesome if you actually helped make an expansion for my second favorite game (Has been, Is still, and will be. Even with all the issues. SOE knows what they're doing.). Good luck SC, hope the best comes out of this.

Yea, I'll agree with that. Working at a cash register can be so mind numbing that at certain times, if employee's don't get proper breaks, they can get tricked. I almost got tricked twice working at a grocery store during High-School. Luckily, both times were at the beginning of my shift, but still, it happens. As for giving too much money back, that happens too. Thats why most retailers that I know their cashier rules allow about a 2-5 dollar difference in Till counts. Its gonna happen sometime.

I checked Penny Arcade today to see today's strip (well, yesterday's strip, its 2:30 am here...) only to learn about the new "Resting System" in WoW. This is one MMORPG that I've been looking closely at (but don't know if I'll get it when it comes out... Linage II just went gold...) and I've got to say I'm impressed. What I found funny however, and this is the reason I posted this here, is that many of these so called "Beta" testers are, even before experimenting with it, shooting it down, and basically telling Blizzard how to make their (blizzard's) game. Honestly, this resting system sounds pretty cool to me. For starters it'll make the game a real RPG, not just a hack-fest like Blizzard's previous RPGs. What do y'all think of the "resting system"?

Shingen, I want to have your babies.......... I love my personal mixing board. I've got a used Mackie 1402-VLZ, and the thing is one of the best mixers I've ever touched. It came with a shorted Ch. 1 Slider, but I've fixed it since I got it, and it works like it's never had an issue. I wish I had 2 cases of Black Widow's... but I'd probably get kicked out of the dorm

WinMX is currently the only P2P client that doesn't bog your system down with spyware. K++ aka Kazaa Lite was the best, but Sharman shut them down, almost totally eliminating all downloads of it... good luck finding a copy. You could try Bit Torrent; I recommend Bit Tornado as the client, just google it. Problem here is you can't download single MP3s, typically its an entire CD. Honestly, P2P filesharing isn't that safe right now; and I'm not talking about the RIAA either. Currently, something like 4 of the main hacker groups in the world are duking it out, and they're infiltrating a lot of computers using the holes opened by P2P clients. Not to mention downloading stuff off of P2P clients is enough now to get you flagged as a copyright infringer by the Feds, which could mean you facing hefty fines, or time in jail. My recommendation, unless you plan on purchasing the royalties to a song (Which I do when I'm designing sounds for shows, I'll just download the song and send the respective publishers the royalties... I hate doing that.) is to just not do any P2P downloading. I haven't tried iTunes yet though, I hear its pretty good however.

Hmmm, thats actually a little pricey unless its a combo drive... Whats the speed? And what brand/model is it? I can get a Pioneer DVD-114LG off of Price-Watch for 21 bucks, including shipping, sooo.... College budget, cheap equipment.

What will you sell the DVD-Rom drive for? I'm looking to buy one since most new games have DVD versions coming out...

Ooo, forgot about that one. Get TAUCP http://www.planetannihilation.com/taucp/main.htm it IS the best Total Annihilation mod out there. You might also try the starwars mod, I hear thats pretty good as well.

Any of the Homeworld games... I've yet to have just one game of Homeworld 2 last less than 30 minutes between me and my friends. If you want a game that'll last for hours get 4 people and 4 computers going, FFA... that'll last for a long time. Warcraft 3 is always good, but the longest mp game I've been in yet with it is 45 minutes, so I don't think its what you're looking for. Oh, and Haegemonia really really really did suck. I took the time to beat it, but I feel like I wasted the time that I took to beat it. It just doesn't have much depth, and the directx executable on my CD has a virus in it, so that didn't help my idea about it any... getting that virus off my system was a pain. Good Concept, bad delivery.

I still play a little starcraft $ilk. I play War3 & TFT the most out of all of my strategy games though. Drop me a PM if you want to play sometime.

I'm here. I haven't practiced UC for about a week and a half now. Not much different from BCMG, the ground combat is where the most noticable changes have taken place. Didn't realize that the Netherlands Queen Mother passed away... I'm sorry to hear that dreadx. Surprised my German teacher didn't tell us that, she typically tells us any big news from Europe. In other news, I might be landing on another computer this summer. That'll put me up to my box and 2 servers. Depending on the performance of it I might use it for a UC server, but we'll just have to see. I know my webserver that I'm currently building won't be able to handle running a UC server, but I am going to be hosting a UC related website if any of ya'll are interested. This is all pending though, I gotta find a cheap hard-disk for it... my 10 gig I was gonna use for it bit the dust 2 weeks ago, and I don't have a whole lot of money to spend on this machine; most everything is hand-me-downs and "dumpster dives" (not really dumpster diving, but my school calls the graveyard the "dumpster". It rocks to have friends in IT. Their only rule is no Hard-Disks... dang.) I'll keep ya'll updated with this.

Well, I figured I'd jump in on this bandwagon; I've been following it since it started, and I'd like to see what the result of this is. I tested your theory 5pyd3r, and after a couple tests between Moon01 and Moon02 the HJ Recharge time stayed the same. Maybe I did it wrong, I only did like 3 trials before I gave up. But I think we're all onto something here. I didn't actually adjust my CC to have a higher SR Percentage however. I simply adjusted the power allocation in logistics. Both times were about 43 seconds recharge of my trials. Anybody confirm this? I started the stopwatch the second I got out of hyperspace in my Questar.
