  1. Wrestler sues Max Payne developers. I can't believe this guy. I've never even heard of him, must have not been very good. This guy is just looking for some money, the game has been out for a while now, and is one of the most well known games of all time.
  2. quote:Originally posted by Supreme Cmdr: That idiot Duane (to whome Trotter was responding) is going to have a cow when he sees what Trotter wrote at the end. Serves him right too. I'd have done the same thing were I in Trotter's shoes. Amen. I hope that idiot realizes what he's done now. Yea, he's noticed, but now he looks like a total ass to tons of people. It is a well known fact that PC Gamer is read by many developers (i.e. SC Himself, Carmack, etc.) and that guy just got his ass busted by Trotter. Serves him right. This kind of thing doesn't just happen in Game Development either. The other day I had a customer screaming at me about a CD I was mixing for him, I ended threatening to call the company lawyer if he didn't calm down. The guy freaked over the volume being about low. Wasn't like I couldn't fix it, he just started getting angry at me the minute I asked him if he could come in and check the volume before I burned it. Jesus, some people just need to sit on the john and take a crap.
  3. I tend to get my PC Gamer issues before anyone else. Never really have figured out why, but its been happening since about the third year they were in print (I've had a subscription with them since the 2nd issue).
  4. Hey SC, you made the latest Issue of PC Gamer again! Look on page 116 under the Desktop General. Boy, I do think that you are one of the most mentioned developers within their offfice. Good job! ADDITION: For those of you curious, I think Trotter has just seen the light of his own troll. Read the column to find out.
  5. Um, I'm trying to figure out what the hell you just asked Gallion... You mean lemmings? Like the little furry creature that has chronic depression and commits suicide quite often? Umm.... Right.
  6. 11 Kinda fits me, I tend to be a little ruthless when I'm playing games and such.
  7. Hallo! Nice to meet you sir! (Salutes} I present to you the ICV-Red Star and her crew. We just got some, err, legal alcohol in a raid if you interested sir!
  8. quote:Originally posted by Supreme Cmdr: No, seriously though, I'm getting kinda fond of him. Can we keep him? Pleeze? He, he, he can be like our forum mascot or something. Now now SC, don't over exert yourself. Here, take this tranquilizer. Good, now drown it down with some whiskey. Good SC. LMAO this is funny. I can't believe you actually banned Epsilon for a bit! LMAO. (Pounds on table a few times) Jesus thats great. ROFLMAO Jesus, thats just so frigg ... Ouch.
  9. If he bought the game, why didn't he register? Somehow I doubt he bought the game. Sounds like he got a rip or something to me. The game is not that buggy, it rarely freezes on my system, and when it does, its because Windows 2000 is having gay feelings. I hate people like that. EDIT: *Grins at aggressor* You dirty scoundrel. EDIT(Again): I don't know why, but I'm laughing my silly little ass of right now. I'm sorry SC, but this is just soooooo funny, so many people hate you and come up with little "conspiracies" you're apparently involved in. Man, I don't know what you did that started this, but I'll tell you what, I respect you. You're probably one of the most hated men on the internet (Next to Berners-Lee and the W3C for all the spam they apparently send out. http://www.w3.org/People/Berners-Lee/FAQ.html#Spam ) I seriously respect that sir. What I respect even more is how resilient you are as well. Through all of this you just push them away, hit the magic ban button, and continue what you always do. I think you've reached idol status with me sir. Hmmm, now to start an earwax statue in my closet of you. (Joke) [ 07-03-2003, 11:03 PM: Message edited by: Cmdr. WeeGee ]
  10. LMAO! I love it! Great find!
  11. Howdy dreadx, welcome to the team. quote:Originally posted by Cmdr Chavik: Are you creating an inventory list or taking an inventory? Either one sucks. Creating an inventory list. I a m s i c k o f i t. On a good note though, I don't have to worry about it until next Tuesday, since I don't have to go in tomorrow. (THANK LORD JESUS!)
  12. Bah, those reviewers don't get it. I for one love the game, I don't just play it to play a game either. There is a reason its called a Role-playing Game (RPG) and that is to allow people to role play with it. Use your imagination people. I for one have my character on Kettemore, which has been announced the Unofficial Role Playing Server. As for the bit earlier on in this post about everyone wanting to be a jedi, bounty hunter, etc. Thats crap. I for one have seen more than my share of artisians and other classes. I love how to get items in the game you've got to trade in between each other, its a nice touch for people who really role-play in the game. I hate how so many people denounce good RPGs just for the fact that its intended for people to actually role-play with. As for the cost, I do agree that is a little steep, but I for one feel its worth it. Its about the same I was paying for EQ back in the day, and that doesn't really bother me. I'll probably still pay it (and play it) when the BC servers start up. (I'll just play BCO and SWG, doesn't bother me) Plus, when it finally gets out in say a year, the expansion will kick ass for this game. EDIT: Here's a nother review, this time a positive one. http://www.gamepro.com/computer/pc/games/reviews/30053.shtml
  13. Well this is news to me. I could care less that Activision is sueing Viacom. Viacom is not making another Star Trek movie, thats news to me. I suppose I could understand why, but still, if they were to get some DECENT writers they might be able to increase the life of the Star Trek franchise. And whats this with Activision saying that there needs to be support from Viacom to make Star Trek games? Ever heard of fans? I suppose not, or if they have, Activision's Cheif Executive's IQ of 40 just doesn't allow him to understand what a fan(atic) is....
  14. I'm here, barely. I've just gotten off of vacation and my not all of my parts for my new comp have come in yet. I've got a lot to catch up on with work, we've got a new TD coming in next week and I've got to finish making an inventory and working out all the upstanding tech issues that can be fixed at the moment, so I probably won't be on for the next week much.
  15. Actually, I've just bought an AS7V333 myself. I've got a friend who recommended it to me, he's never had any problems with it either. Sounds like a good deal to me. Check pricewatch for some good prices on it. (Although I'm sure you already know this)

    Babylon 5

quote:Originally posted by Fox__Trot: But i've never SEEN Babylon 5...O M F G... You MUST go and pick up this then. Babylon 5 is great if you love Sci-Fi. It is the classic example of good science fiction. Pity that the network killed it with bad scheduling, it probably could have been as popular as Star Trek, only 10x better! Heck, if you get it and don't like it, feel free to send the DVDs to me
  17. For anyone who's interested in this kind of thing, the book called "Benjamin Franklin" by Edmund S. Morgan on, Ben Franklin (Duh!), is a great read. Seriously, anyone interested in Ole' Franklin should definitly go out and buy this book, I've just gotten through the first 75 pages and it is the most interesting book on Benjamin Franklin I've ever read. Anybody else been reading some good books lately? I'd like to know. I'll give myself a week to finish this off, then I'll need some new reading material.
  18. quote:Originally posted by Steve Schacher: Also, theater people like to party. Talk about it, whew! Actually, the community theater where I live isn't that great. I do some lighting work for it but its extremely political. All you have to do for good parts in it is rub up on a few legs and on the day before audition they'll call you and tell you that you've got the lead role and don't need to come to the audition... We do some community theatre projects at "The Ritz" because of this. The main community theater in our area really turns a bunch of people away from it because they're told to leave cause they're the wrong skin color or have bad teeth. We just don't feel thats the way community theatre should be; it gives theatre a bad name for newcomers. For example, at my local community theatre, they're currently beginning their summer theatre workshop for the children. Well, they took two of the people who signed up for the workshop out to lunch the day of the auditions (Right before the auditions took place) and told them they would be the stars in the show. This was not giving anyone else a chance. Apparently most of the core cast had been picked already as well. Not only do I feel that shows involving children should be fair with community theatre but I feel this was totally uncalled for. They've asked me to come in and set up their stack and mixer for the show and I'm not quite sure I'll do it because I've found this out. Too bad this might make the local newspaper. This could really backfire on them with their children's show. I already know of a few people who are quite literally pissed that most of core parts had been chosen already before the auditions. So much for having a "fair" audition, the most they could have done was keep this all under wraps.
  19. I've been looking for a camera recently myself. I'd like a digital, but I need it to be able to take pictures in dark rooms with high intensity spots in it (A Theater). Currently it looks like I might be looking at a standard camera that can take tungsten film, but thats just so damn expensive. This is for taking pictures of sets and lighting schemes for my porfolio at work, so maybe the tungsten might be worth it, but I'd really like a digital anyways.
  20. Woa, this is a bit of a negative sign for the "peace" movement in the middle-east. This time its in Iran. http://www.nytimes.com/2003/06/13/internat.../13IRAN.html?th (You'll probably need to get an account for the NY Times if you don't have one. Its free, and worth it anyways.)
  21. *shivers* *Shakes head* Tac... Aww whats the use.
  22. *sigh* Here we go again... This is ridiculous. When will these people ever let off. I love what he said about gameplay. Just because his head is so small that he can't figure out what he wants to do and instead thinks he's supposed to do something he gives the game a poor grade? Sigh, simple minded people shouldn't be on computers. Derek, I've got a good solution for these jokes; port to linux, then only people who have decent brains will be able to play. And for those of you who don't understand linux, its not much harder than Windows at all once you get it set up. Try the latest [a href=http://www.redhat.com]Redhat Linux[/a] for one of the easiest builds of linux I've used. Seriouly though (I know you will never port to linux SC), I think this is just a bunch of bs we should let no steam off at. So, my reply. We moon them and get on with it.
  23. Lucky guys. Congrats to all of you. Have fun with BCG!
  24. Cool, anyone else? This really bothers me that almost nobody else works in theater. The arts are important people, remember this.
  25. quote:Originally posted by Epsilon 5: And btw, I always play with the Sunflash. i can,t stand the slow hyperdrive times for the bigger ships....well then of course its easy... The Sunflash is one of the most powerful ships in the game. I used to play with it but switched to the Questar for faster speed. Yea, I've suffered a little weapon decrease, but in the end it was worth it. Seriously, try it with a different ship. The Appendix is your friend for finding HD times. Oh, and I'd like to see your savegame of a career too. I'm interested to see how much exp you've got.
