I don't think so. I remember grunting about it once, and getting told to "siddown" by you-know-who. The joystick axis configuration is my only major gripe about BCM. When I was in Ireland (not N. Ireland) on vacation, the tour guide said that on the road, distances are measured in kilometers while speed limits are in miles per hour. Or maybe it was the other way (distances in mi and speed in kph). Talk about really weird -- at least if you're using units from the same system for speed and distance, figuring out how long it'll take to get somewhere is trivial.

I liked the fake Snuggle ad that was for some war video game or console box. It starts out like a Snuggle ad with the bear doing his spiel when a tank crashes through the basement, to which we are treated to the bear almost swearing: "WHAT THE...??!!!" At which point he's cut off as all chaos breaks loose with the tank letting off a big shot. You see the bear running, arm shot off, burn marks etc. with the tank crashing through the house behind him in pursuit of him across one of those "spring-fresh scented" meadows. I fell off my chair laughing. Anyway, it ended up with the bear laying in the meadow missing an arm, slightly scorched/frazzled and with tank treads on it where it got ran over. He says a few final words, but I forget what it was. I was still laughing too hard to pay attention.

I feel your pain too. I watched the Raiders/Steelers game in Kings with my girlfriend and just when you started to get your hopes up, their special teams let go a touchdown return! This is why I hardly ever watch sports anymore: all the teams I care about play like crap...

Just so long as we don't see a Golden Arches Nutripak Happy Meal in BCM/BCG. (I never did like Mickey D's and if it ever does appear in 3000AD my next orders as Fleet Commander will be to exterminate them as a primary threat to the galaxy Of course, that'd eliminate the only job in the galaxy that Resnig could maybe qualify for).

I for one am tired of giving ATI "one more chance" to get the drivers right. This time I'm waiting for significant nVidia user desertion to ATI to signal them getting their driver act together.

Actually, I like playing as unarmed trader at times. It helps me improve my evasive tactics. The better I plan my routes, the less likely I am to have the crap blasted out of me by some raider that I didn't know about. And for the ones that sneak up on me anyway, it let me have a shot at trying out some various "flee before I'm toast" strategies.

Doggone it, how'd I miss this thread?!!!! Here, all this time I was thinking "Robotech: Battlecry" was one of the DVD titles. I had heard of the upcoming game and never put 2 and 2 together. Shame on me for...well, until whenever the game comes out. Now all I got to do is convince my brother to let me use his PS/2. This game looks cool!

If you're really worried about in-case heat, you can always improve airflow with round IDE and floppy drive cables. Actually, if you don't want to spend the bucks on those cables (which come in designer colors), you can probably just take a razor, slice carefully between the ribbon cable lines three or four times, and then use small rubber bands or the like to "bundle" the smaller ribbons into a tighter package. Large ribbons can sometimes obstruct airflow in a cramped case. Amen on what Tac said about monitors being the biggest heat source. Any CRT is just a glorified light bulb. A big light bulb. Still, I have an AMD 850 MHz CPU. Things do seem to be warm down in the cubbyhole the case sits in. But then, I never go with the retail CPU fan anyway, I prefer to spend $20-$30 for a decent size fan. Funny but true: till last year, I never knew the case fan was supposed to blow into the case. Both the power supply fan and case fan were blowing out. Lord knows where the air was being pulled in from.

And if it ain't written up on a sticker on the drive or etched into the metal case, jumper positionings can be found in the manual, which can be downloaded from most HD manufacturer web sites if you don't have it.

11/10!!! I liked this better than X-Men. Heh, I'd rather see Spidey over Wolverine any day of the week. Favorite scene: Parker trying to figure out web-shooting, and then taking his first swing straight into the side of a building. I almost fell out of my seat laughing.
