Welcome Rafius! We do welcome even those that don't read the manual or faqs... One difference is you save yourself a bunch of RTFM's and RTFAQ's, sometimes with a bit of added punch. Another, is you learn a WHOLE lot more using that search function. Do some fleet research here. Lots of info again, but better then me sitting here typing out a book while at work! If you're into a bit of rebellion and not wanting to be a part of a mob, check the Insurgency out real hard. Blades, we beat you to the punch again.... ------------------ Commodore Wold ICV-Drakr, Spectre HQ (Antis) Commanding Officer, Spectre HQ Spectre Fleet ICQ 4669033 "You can only love or hate something you truly understand" [This message has been edited by Wold (edited 02-08-2001).]

That's right, Echo. I remember now! That was just before my puter burped and I lost all my icq stuff. You get all those veggie movies yet? Those guy's have a unique creative streak! 1 yr. old son... Is he dismantalling things yet? ------------------ Commodore Wold ICV-Drakr, Spectre HQ (Antis) Commanding Officer, Spectre HQ Spectre Fleet ICQ 4669033 "You can only love or hate something you truly understand"

Well, I'll try and the liberties that I take hopefully won't be too out of character. Sorry Blades for getting off plot (though i'm not real sure what it is right now), just attemting to develop the character a bit. [rp] 03:49 hrs, 19th May, 3008 SS Vulture Sickbay/Medibay The sharp snap mobilized the MA into action. Reaching his side she began slamming various narcotics into him to knock him back out and get his vital signs back down. All the while swearing under her breath about the lack of presence from her CMO. Just then it dawns on her that she hadn't paged him. Turning her head to an orderly, "Page CMO Foss and tell him we need his bu** in here!". why couldn't Commander Savage leave well enough alone...we already had a good CMO.... Commander Foss was in his quarters. He hadn't really been sure that Savage was going to give in and give him the CMO position. Just a few more touches and I'll be ready to start working with Akuma... Turning his concetration back to the task at hand CMO FOSS, GET YOUR BU** TO MEDIBAY NOW! blasts through his quarters as the orderly had taken the MA's orders a bit too literally. Jumping at the unexpected blast into his concentration a 32oz cup of launched across the workspace. A quiet ffzziipt sound followed by a slightly louder pop as the computer digests a bit of coffee greets Foss next as the project goes up in smoke. 03:56 hrs Medibay Medibay door wisks open admitting a fuming CMO Foss. He makes three giant strides into the medibay before the scene registers, causing him to stop and take a slow look around. The scene greeting him was shattered glass, a couple of mercs with gins sharing some private joke, another merc being fussed at by an orderly as she taked to, Savage?, and MA Carlene with a rather harried look on her face next to someone else. Commander Savage nods at the merc as she finishes her story. Looking up he sees Foss, sporting a new coffee stain, standing there taking in his charge. Commander Savage, having more urgent matters, heads out with a brief pause with Foss. Jerking a thumb over his right shoulder, "That's Insurgent Wold. Seems that one of the Mercs recognized his DNA scan and tried to collect him. Somebody wants him, possibly the same group we're already after." Savage looks at Foss for a long second then continues on his way. "And if we get into serious trouble, how do I know that you'll work just as hard to save an Insurgent's life as a Galcom officer's?" Savage's question and his own answer echos through his mind. He had ment it, but..... He looked at the commander who had fired on Akuma's ship and the one responsible for the current mess.... Taking a deep breath he walks up to the MA who extends an updated bio-chart to him. Looking at it he barely keeps his jaw from dropping. "You sure this is accurate?" "Quite sure, I've taken 3 and they all come up the same and 90% of the drugs we have don't work on him either. When he wakes up he starts mumbling 'no experiments' and then FREAKS. That broken bone just happened. Anyway, he's all yours, I have better things to do. Orderly, get that glass cleaned up," as she heads off to her station. He looks like a jigsaw puzzle. Every joint, every muscle, sinew, tendons, all of it reworked. Why? Looks normal to the naked eye, but these scans! Punching a few buttons... HAHA, that's why...enhancements, biological enhancements. Thinking for a minute Foss decides to check his phsyc scan. After connecting a few probes and watching the monitor... haven't seen something that ugly in a long time. Mental barriers must have been broken. Rebuild them? .... 'No experiments' and hunted... Bet those bio-enhancements were forced....Huh, wonder what would happen if he woke up somewhere..neutral. His thoughts stop cold as he notices the words on the bioscan that the index finger had been tapping: WARNING: 75% CHANCE CLONE WILL FAIL, 23% CHANCE CLONE SUCCESSFUL W/O BIO changes, 2% CHANCE CLONE 100% SUCCESSFUL The tip of his tunge touches the suddenly dry lips. The Hippocratic oath Just as a war of ethics begins to build in his mind. A voice whispers in his left ear." The female merc had seen the scan as she walked up to Foss. Whispering to Foss, "The dead merc had caught him and decided some torture would be fun. That's what made him snap. BTW, if he keeps his enhancements we'll have to train him 'cause he can't fight worth cr**. Your choice now." She finishes quietly and walks back to her quarters. Foss's thoughts whip through the options...Psych damage so imbeded the clone would have it...but the enhancements...they could go... but could he deal with it? Do I care? [/rp] Okay Foss, it's up to you. take it any way you want, I'll work w/ it which ever way you go. I was going to wing it but since you took the CMO slot I'm leaving it up to you. If you really don't want to deal w/ it let me know via ICQ and I'll think of something. Sorry all for writing soo much, I'll work on keeping things much shorter from now on. ------------------ Commodore Wold ICV-Drakr, Spectre HQ (Antis) Commanding Officer, Spectre HQ Spectre Fleet ICQ 4669033 "You can only love or hate something you truly understand" [This message has been edited by Wold (edited 02-07-2001).]

Well Joel, it took me a bit to find the search button the first time too. Maybe changing the font size or color might help. However, how many of us have stood there shoving on a door that won't open only to finally look six inches past our nose to see the words PULL... quote:Something like "We highly suggest reading the fine manual (RTFM)and / or using the search function at least once before posting in this forum." add to that ...or you may get the other RTFM! IMO both of those ideas seem good to me. It might trim a few redundant questions and hurt feelings. ------------------ Commodore Wold ICV-Drakr, Spectre HQ (Antis) Commanding Officer, Spectre HQ Spectre Fleet ICQ 4669033 "You can only love or hate something you truly understand"

quote:Hi guys, serious stuff now, i have a question on BCM multi (as you guys will probably know more about the possible workings of it) Well Tic, what we know or don't know we can't say. NDA things in all. Something about We Blab-We Fried or something like that. Anyway, last dietician I talked to said fried is bad, stick to MUMS. I hear MUMS are good plants. 'Course there could be another who likes fried.... If not, you'll just have to wait for SC to spill the beans. ------------------ Commodore Wold ICV-Drakr, Spectre HQ (Antis) Commanding Officer, Spectre HQ Spectre Fleet ICQ 4669033 "You can only love or hate something you truly understand"

And yep Echo, you did beat us too it... I forgot that you had a "new" little one, I bet you didn't forget! Man, I really forgot, what did you have? ( I mean, I know you had a baby Human, but what kind??)(Thanks Akira for jarin' the cobwebs loose!) Well Akira, don't be soo difficult. It's just a wee little solder job... 'Course your next problem would be locating a 4 position w/ 40 connections to each switch position.... wonder what the cross-talk would be like.... hummmm.... Well, if you aren't going to bite on that wee little trick there's even a MORE simpler methooood.... (I luf abuthing my Inglesh AND yur all's eieballs! ) Lets see... hum... yea, yea, that's it... just hang 'em both on out there... you know, that primary cable undt dat puwer thingey... course you'll still need 4 drives... (but if yu haf schlick willies luk kharm u burrow eeextras frum them that cud afoord it...) yick... typ'n like that's too much work... Get a hacksaw, chop a slot in the side of the case and run them there cables thru it... (course you might need a grommet to cover the edges) then just plug in the os you always wanted but never had the time to install... If you managed to borrow quadruplet drives then you won't even have to reconfig that MOS thingey... There, aren't I a big help?? BTW, I don't drink or do drugs.... The mere thought of the results just FREAKS me out! ------------------ Commodore Wold ICV-Drakr, Spectre HQ (Antis) Commanding Officer, Spectre HQ Spectre Fleet ICQ 4669033 "You can only love or hate something you truly understand"

Some weeks you just wished never started! I hate trips like that! Well Parias, you got me to thinking about the individual amps so I doublechecked things... I thought I had a 250W PSU cause that's what the box said that the case came in. Just checked the PSU directly and it is a 300W PSU. You just saved me a few bucks. Hi Parias, I got the same board minus the raid controller . I'm running the 900 T-Bird. I was having the same crashes w/ MW4...traced the problem (after endless driver & prog. update searches) to the cpu core voltage being too hot... I dropped it by .025V and that cured the problem for me. For a great resource on that board as well as general good tips check here. As Eclipse mentioned, a 300W PSU may really be needed. Especially if you have a bunch of stuff loaded. I also have a 250W PSU and using the VIA hardware monitor am seeing a ripple in both 12V & 5V. I need to switch up myself. Thanks for sharing your pain. Misery loves company and I'm sure that SC can relate. I understand that 1 of his PCs turned into a snake pit. ------------------ Commodore Wold ICV-Drakr, Spectre HQ (Antis) Commanding Officer, Spectre HQ Spectre Fleet ICQ 4669033 "You can only love or hate something you truly understand" [This message has been edited by Wold (edited 02-03-2001).]

Well Foss, I had the following in mind for a while now... with your "promotion", things just get more interesting.... [rp] 01:30 hrs, 19th May, 3008 Modified LRT-15 Transport S.S. Vulture The briefing over Wold noticed a young looking merc working her way towards him. About half way around the room a big burly merc who looked as if most of his battles had been fought using his face, touches her elbo. A brief, but animated discussion ensues. The female merc gives a brief shrug as the conversation ends and heads off in a different direction. Mr. Ugly turns a passive face to Wold and motions for him to follow him. Setting his chair back down he gets up and heads out the door after the bruit. After a couple of corridores and corners the merc changes position and gets behind his charge. After making sure that no one is watching he begins to deviate to his own destination. Wold, not knowing where his quarters are supposed to be on this modified tub doesn't suspect anything. 03:10 hrs, 19th May, 3008 Modified LRT-15 Transport S.S. Vulture Sickbay A medic assistant (MA) turns around as the sickbay door whisks open revealing a badly beaten female merc. Blood smeared her black outfit, bruises showed on her face, her nose broken and an eye swollen shut. Her busted energy rifle was slung across her back, right hand holding a nerve-gun set to maximum, enough to kill at close range. She was using her left hand to support a bearly conscious Wold. Upon seeing the MA the merc rasps out "Get me Blades, NOW!" BRIDGE The bridge comm suddenly upens up "Bridge, this is sickbay. We need Commander Blades ". The sentence is interupted, but the comm is left open, with a loud THUD Shattering glass and an ear piercing scream... "KILL HIM, KILL HIM!!" "NO, DON'T KILL HIM!! I'LL GET HIM" SICKBAY Wold's eyes open...blood...the red haze must be blood...numb...so numb..."Where..wha.. NO, NO...NO medical won't take more experiments..won't make it..got to do.." His body suddenly spasms as fear and panic shoot through him. Conscious thought is gone, subconsious survival instinct kicks in. Thrusting his left leg against the door and shoving with the right arm the merc is litterally thrown across the room. She slams into a shelf full of glass medical items. She screams as shards of glass drive into her legs and back. Wold lurches out of sickbay and tries to run down the hall as the voice of the MA follows him "KILL HIM, KILL HIM!!" Swearing, the merc stabbs a stim pack and countermands the MA's orders. Pushing herself back up and slipping on blood and glass she stumbles out the door after him. She spies 2 more mercs with energy weapons pointed at the madman scrabbling down the hall after them. Coming up behind him, she fires another maximum nerve shot to the back of Wolds head. As he attempts to turn and attack the new threat behind him a searing pain shoots through his head and he smacks the deck in a motionless lump. Looking up at the two mercs staring at her she orders them "Get him to sickbay and lock him down. Full straps! Then get Blades...and Rattler. I think he's an Insurgent." One of the mercs chuckles, "Why, he's dead with a shot that close, just toss 'em out the lock." Tilting the nerve-gun slightly, "Humor me. I've had a bad day." Fifteen minutes later they have him securely strapped to the slab and fully wired to the monitors. Eighteen minutes later the monitors begin screeming as all the needles are redlined. Those in sickbay snap their heads to the sound. They see him stiff with eyes wide open, sweat soaking everything as he tries to break the restraints. They all flinch when the sharp sound of a breaking bone pierces the air. [/rp] Wold is experiencing some sort of pyscho flashback... instigated by that big merc and continued to be fueled by his surroundings (sickbay). ------------------ Commodore Wold ICV-Drakr, Spectre HQ (Antis) Commanding Officer, Spectre HQ Spectre Fleet ICQ 4669033 "You can only love or hate something you truly understand" [This message has been edited by Wold (edited 01-31-2001).]

The Most Stupid Question you Have Ever Heard!!!!
Wold replied to Commander Jamont's topic in General Chatter
You know Epsilon 5, that's the kind of answers I give....just to see the look people give me. You can see it in their eye's as their mind wonders "Is he really that dumb?".... (don't answer that!) ------------------ Commodore Wold ICV-Drakr, Spectre HQ (Antis) Commanding Officer, Spectre HQ Spectre Fleet ICQ 4669033 "You can only love or hate something you truly understand" -
This is not a tech support question, but rather a strange solution that I experienced. System: AMD 900, 384 ram, ABIT KT7 motherboard, Rage 128 All in Wonder video and the SB Live sound card. NOT overclocked. Problem: Ran great for about 1 month then started crashing to desktop, lockups, and resets only w/ 3D games or 3D rating programs such as 3DMark2000 while doc programs, 2D games, internet, etc. all workd great. Solution: Lowered the CPU core voltage by point 03 volts DC. This solution was found after several weeks (hence my absence from beta testing) of changing memory settings, drivers, reloading all drivers, digging for driver updates, "safe" cmos settings, and MUCH hair pulling! New motherboards often have temp, voltage, and fan monitoring capabilities. My voltage settings were correct at 1.75vDC, but the monitor showed the voltage at 1.79vDC. I lowered the CPU core voltage until I got a close (1.76vDC)output. No further troubles! Try the normal solutions first, several times, then look for the strange. ------------------ Commodore Wold ICV-Drakr, Spectre HQ (Antis) Commanding Officer, Spectre HQ Spectre Fleet ICQ 4669033 "You can only love or hate something you truly understand" [This message has been edited by Wold (edited 01-30-2001).]

Hi Tictoc! Please forgive my bad manners. I spent the 1st week of the year 300+ miles from home (Tok, AK) stuck w/ a busted fuel pump and couldn't check things w/ no net access. I think it's because your shinny new battlecruiser was built by the lowest government bidder. They probably used the Never-Ready Battery. Solar reactor output is going to depend on orientation (which you said) and how close you are to the light source. When your highly polished reactor built by the other low bidders pukes all over your BC that solar reactor can save your booty. If the current output of the solar reactor is less then 10 your total available power will increase when you disable the solar reactor. I personally keep mine (solar reactor) tucked away until then. I have this unfounded belief that it stays a bit more protected that way. ------------------ Commodore Wold ICV-Drakr, Spectre HQ (Antis) Commanding Officer, Spectre HQ Spectre Fleet ICQ 4669033 "You can only love or hate something you truly understand"

Welcome aboard. Be patient and we'll get you running. Which version of Windows are you running? Windows ME isn't supported due to "advancements" by Micro*****. Have you tried the exact config.sys file settings shown in BC3Kfaq? Which BC3KAD shortcut are you using? You should be using the NON-3DFX shortcut. Did you configure your sound? Did it test ok? This is done after the patches. Which video card is your machine running?
