CNN is down to the Beavis and Butthead method of reporting. Whoa! He said Shit. (Continuous inane chuckling) This must be why I don't watch Collection of Numbskull Newspeople

Isn't it kind of a moot point? I ask that because there isn't much out there in the way of software that is written to utilize dual core CPUs. Is there?

FlapJack Thompson is a total tit. I wonder what his real agenda is. Not that I think the bandits at Take 2 don't deserve it but, Jack is getting way out of hand imho. Anything a developer places in a video game is subject to a rating board and GTA carried an adult rating to begin with but 'ol Jack wants to turn it into a moral issue instead of placing the blame where it truly belongs. On the shoulders of the parents who buy adult rated games for thier adolescent children. Nanny Jack got his buttocks kicked after taking the issue to DC. Digging at the very core of a companies' financial structure is criminal. It's a slap in the face to our freedoms. Go to hell Nazi Jack. [ 07-15-2006, 12:28 PM: Message edited by: Wolferz ]

Nail on the head Prez. Drive it on in. Excise taxes on tobacco out the wazoo in this state, on top of the federal taxes. Smoking is fast becoming an unaffordable habit, thanks to a bunch of goodie-two-shoes and people who just can't seem to accept the resonsibility of thier own actions. In the end it's all about the Benjamins and stealing as many as they can from tobacco users. Let's face it, we have transitioned from a majority to a minority rules system. Disgusting.

I was in the sporting goods section of a department store recently, picking up a new driver for my golf bag. I was headed for the cashier when a woman, with a small child, practically knocked me down to get to the register first. She had two small articles of clothing(not from the sporting goods section) that she had picked out for the kid and proceeded to pay for them with a one hundred dollar bill. Naturally the clerks register didn't have enough money to give her change. So I did the only thing I could to repay this lady for being a totally inconsiderate idiot. I ripped a doozy of a SBD nearby. Needless to say, she whipped out the old credit card to hasten the transaction and her egress from the sporting goods section, which was now a toxic environment. Crepitation can be alot of fun. Especially if you rip one in an elevator just prior to reaching the ground floor. The people who just got on to go up can hear you laughing for several floors.

North Korean Missile Crisis

I have a brilliant idea.... Sneak a S.Korean spy into the north, reprogram the guidance system on the Taep O Dingdong missile to target Tehran, then sit back and laugh until our sides hurt. -

North Korean Missile Crisis
Wolferz replied to Dave Peterson's topic in Politics, Religion & Legal etc
Good Morning America really seemed to be rubbing the little bastages' nose in the failure this morning, and not just the test failure either. They showed an orbital shot of the Korean peninsula, highlighting the south, then the north. South Korea was lit up like a Christmas tree. North Korea, however, was black as the night they're shivering in. I ain't skeered of that nutjob. -

I had a really good job once. At least until some French company bought the company and then moved the operation to Mexico in favor of cheap labor and whatever incentives they could screw the Mexican government out of. Damned Frogs! And you're right. Each of us must take the responsibility upon ourselves to make a decent wage. I don't think it's right that newly graduated high school seniors are forced into what amounts to servitude, in an unforgiving job market where companies use lame excuses like lack of experience. For that very reason, I taught my son how to make his own way because the public schools sure weren't doing it. We also have college graduates working at Mickey D's because, again, they lack experience. If you are fortunate enough to be born into a family that can afford to send you through college and play the nepotism game during summer break, you've got it made. As for poor planning in regard to a family. Even the best laid plans of mice and men sometimes go awry. Been there, done that, got the T-shirt, wore it out, and last I looked I checked my oil with it.We have alot of problems facing all of us at the moment, with no easy answers. But, no my friend, Americans are not too lazy or irresponsible to insure thier retirement years are spent in relative comfort. They are just the victims of an unforgiving corporate oligarchy called the United States Government.

Well said Coop. Sadly, much of it is the truth. But, what is this active part you speak of? We vote. We write letters to our representatives. What do we get out of it? Form letters, thanking us for our interest, then our wishes are totally ignored that's what. Our government has been taken over by those who wish to usurp power and money. They legislate in favor of minorities, criminals, and corporate lobbies. What do we do now? Plan for our retirement and forget about everything else while we toil to salt away for old age? Not something you can easily do when your wages are taxed into nothingness and every modern convenience carries excise taxes out the wazoo, to the point of making saving for retirement a pointless exercise in futility, because you need the money now to live on. Especially if the only job you can find pays minimum wage. The Federal minimum wage is currently $5.15 an hour. Unless you are lucky enough to get on a Federal contract job that pays a federally mandated prevailing wage. You're pretty much screwed. The last time minimum wage was increased was 1997. Alot has changed since 1997.Most people I know can't live a healthy lifestyle on minimum wage. Much less save for retirement. Let's do some math...... $5.15 X 40 hours = $206.00- @ 23% for Federal/state taxes,FICA, etc etc ad nauseum. = $108.40 net pay a week. That won't buy groceries, gasoline, insurance, light bill, telephone, rent, etc etc for a single man, much less a family. Many people I know work two minimum wage jobs just to sustain themselves and thier families. Our elected representatives made sure that they earn a living wage and that they will have comfort in thier retirement and all they had to do to get it was raise thier hand and say aye. So, while many Americans enjoy the independance holiday with Hamburgers, hotdogs, and cheap beer. Our elected reps will be grilling porterhouse steaks, drinking champaign and toasting the ignorance of all the poor working stiffs who won't get a paid holiday unless they work it. All because they were dumb enough to cast thier ballot for these guys and gals. Americans aren't lazy. They're not free either. Americans work to support thier families and the government entities from sea to shining sea. Now, please don't get me wrong. I'm not against government. It's a necessary evil to prevent total anarchy and chaos. No matter how you spin it, we are governed. Therefore we are not truly free and won't be until we die. Only then is a man truly free. For now we are merely slaves to the human condition and those who seek power and wealth If could find and elect another president like Thomas Jefferson, who never accepted a penny from the treasury, for his service to the country, we would be much better off I think. Tomorrow celebrate Americas' false seperation from the crown of England if you will and think about the descendants of the first settlers of New England. The English monarchs and so called royal blood lines that immigrated to America, or were sent by the crown, they are the ones in charge of our government right now. Oh,please don't blow your appendages off with cheap Chinese munitions during the festivities.

Patriot Act smackdown: Librarians 1, FBI 0
Wolferz replied to Supreme Cmdr's topic in Politics, Religion & Legal etc
quote: Sure, the failure on 9.11 was HUGE. But, we're learning from it. What is wrong with that? You are correct about that. It was huge, and the guys who were in charge still have thier jobs. Tell me that ain't FUBAR. So now I'm supposed to accept all this super secret court BS and spying on the American people and detaining people without the due process of public courts and the demand for whatever records they want, without court subpoena? The government doesn't have a clue as to who the thirty million undocumented foreigners are that slipped within our borders and I'm supposed to feel all warm and fuzzy because they learned from a huge mistake? The Librarians seem to be the only true patriots we have left. Maybe because they tend to be very intelligent people and not blind lemmings. Weegee, That is one of my favorite Franklin quotes GO Librarians! -

Patriot Act smackdown: Librarians 1, FBI 0
Wolferz replied to Supreme Cmdr's topic in Politics, Religion & Legal etc
Ok, I'll concede your point but, riddle me this oh wise one.. 09/11/01 Four commercial jets are turned into flying bombs. What did the government do to insure our safety that day? Nada damn thing. I won't waste my thoughts on the hithertos and the whyfors. Thier track record speaks for itself. So, you think I'm ungrateful for your service to this nation. You couldn't be more wrong. I served this country too in case you didn't know. Therefore, I am probably better equipped to face a situation than the average citizen. I was sworn to uphold the constitution the same as you, the same as the president, the same as every other elected or appointed official. That's why it grieves me when I see them trampling the constitution and the Bill of rights with thier super secret crap. I am way past eighteen and that feeling of invincibility left me a long time ago. Since my secondary MOS was NBC, I know that a nuke going off in my back yard won't concern me in the least due the obliteration effect of the flash. Then comes the shockwave which is going to level my home. At that point I won't be caring about anything. Now, if the government has become so paranoid that they feel the overwhelming urge to go against the constitution and turn our country into a Nazi prison camp, so be it. I'll be over here on the sidelines waiting to say "I told you so!"
