  1. Durn tootin I'm in the Lucky Locker *hic*
  2. Probably is a far cry from definitely, So now they have scientifically proven what caused the problem. The wing mockup used in the test was made of fiberglass, A significantly stronger material than the carbon fiber actually used. So hey guys let's put some foam insulation on the external tank that can come off during launch and damage the orbiter enough to destroy it and kill everyone on board. Like I said, "Stupidity, Sheer stupidity.
  3. Looks like they may have found the smoking gun on this one. Stupidity, sheer stupidity. http://www.nytimes.com/2003/05/30/national/30SHUT.html?th
  4. I just looked at those pics. GAWK! Oh look, my drool cup is full again. So SC, you say the beta copies are going in the post tomorrow? Gimme gimme gimme it now.
  5. It's good to see that at least one game reviewier is awake at his keyboard and doesn't have his head so far up his FPS arse that he has to open his mouth just to see daylight I recently had a discussion with a friend regarding battlecruiser, his comment was " Why would I want to micromanage my crew right down to which toenail they trim?" I told him," That's so they are at peak performance when the hostiles come knocking." He barely gave it a chance, probably due to ADD which doesn't mesh well with high learning curves. Perhaps a title change might provoke the feeble minded among us===> Braincrusher of Morronnium
  6. From the perspective of a father of two, one of each gender I always gave them the freedom to choose their own thing. My son wanted to play football at an early age. I supported him by getting him the best equipment money could buy and volunteered as an assistant coach for his peewee league football team, because bless his coach for having a good heart and loving those boys like they were his own, he wasn't the best of coaches out there. The first year my son played, his coach did nothing more to get them ready for the season than teaching them some plays and running them from scrimmage. Many of these little fellows were getting hurt in the early games of the season. So I took Terry aside the following year and asked him if he liked seeing these kids get hurt? His answer was an emphatic NO! I'm open for suggestions. So I suggested military style Physical training before the little guys even touched a football. Terry made me the trainer and day one of first practice seperated the kids who wanted to play from those whose parents were pushing them to play. I ate their lunches and threw the banana peels back at them. One mother was so insensed at the way I worked them, she took her boy home and never returned. But beleive me when the first game day arrived they were ready both physically and mentally. Not one of them was injured that season. Many of the guys played both sides of the ball. That's how small the team was in number and they gave 110% all the time. The parents loved what I did that first week of training and told me it opened the eyes of their children to see that life isn't a bowl of cherries and if you embark on any endeavor you will have to work to be good at it. it doesn't get handed to you free gratis. We had one six year old that played just as hard as the older boys. We had no problem putting him at tailback and handing him the ball. He could squirt through holes a gnat couldn't fly through, but with our front linemen he usually had plenty of room. The only thing I disapproved of that year was the equipment this one poor mother bought for her son. The equipment list we gave out was quite specific as to what was acceptable. She bought him this second hand plastic toy helmet The kind you find in toy stores. I went and bought him a helmet just as good as the one my son wore because I didn't want to see him get his skull bashed in and You couldn't keep a coat of paint on that crap she got him, not to mention it was dangerous for him to even be practicing with it on. The look in his eyes when I put that new helmet on him with a shiny new coat of Giant blue paint, and I took his junk toy helmet and chucked it in the nearest garbage can was payment enough for me. Children are smart enough to develop their own interests, they don't need to be force fed a parents dream of what they want the child to be or do. In fact if the parent pushes too hard for the child to do those things, the child will resent it if they aren't interested. Sometimes kids are much wiser than their parents.
  7. The artifacts become available after 3 days, but not everywhere at once. You will have to do some station searching to find them all. Not an easy task believe me.
  8. If you are trying to pass time to train up your crew AI. I always make sure the CC has plenty of fuel for reactor and sheilds, then I just park the cc on some safe planet or moon, go to bed and leave the game running. I had my RE up in the 40 ish AI range until some intruders boarded, headed straight for the lab and killed her. I was So Pissed, I tied Resnig to a tow cable and drug him through one of Earths oceans for awhile. Ignorant bastard! After that I put him on KP for a month, Right after emergency airlock procedure drills. Two days worth.
  9. Seems like a nice, fair and unbiased review. And he took the time to learn how to play.

  13. quote: Originally posted by Remo Williams: quote:However, is someone claiming that there is some magical dialer that can run in a browser, pop-up or otherwise, window without my first installing it or otherwise granting it permission to run? I believe thatÔÇÖs what their saying. Whenever someone would close the pop-up it would dial out without the PC owners knowledge incurring a charge of $5.00 a minute upon connecting to the companies service. When people surf porn or warez sites it serves them right if their PC gets hacked IMO. Gee Remo, that's a bit narrow minded. Have you ever done a search that plopped you onto some stupid porn site that Hijacks your browser and won't allow you to close it without restarting your machine? What about people who accidentally stumble into one of these traps? Does it serve them right to have their modem hijacked.? They could very well incur a hefty phone bill and not even realise it happened until they get the bill. There are three kinds of people in this world that I detest vehemently. Liars/ Cheats/ and thieves. Being a liar or a thief is bad enough, but a cheat is the previous two combined.
  14. No worries Tyrn. I had the deck plates in front of the airlock waxed to a high gloss and there is a new auto sensor system installed on the doors. the inner door closes automatically when a lazy newb goes sliding in,then the S.A.E.S. kicks in and wooosh [ 05-23-2003, 08:12 AM: Message edited by: Wolferz ]

Bravo SC. They're all going to look funny when it all goes so big they say Never saw this guy coming. Even though you were blowing the Beemers horn loud and clear for miles. Just run them all over, place gear selector in reverse, back up. run them over again. Lather rinse and repeat until all signs of life have ceased in the eyes of those people wearing the glass belt buckles. That should make true beleivers out of every Shirly in the world, then they will realize they have been to a crisp
  17. It's not so much the pop up, it's the fact that they are stealing telelphone tolls by, turning off your modem speaker and dialing out without your knowledge. Makes me very glad I have DSL Most people would hide the phone bill from the misses and just pay it so she doesn't find out hubby was surfing porn sites, which is what these theives are counting on. I hope they throw that ***** in jail. And she has the gall to be incensed about the lawsuits. Bah Hah HAH HAH HAH *blork* * cough cough cough. The nerve of some people.
  18. no worries mate
  19. If they had any brains they would just get a Universal Translator
  20. Want a real thrill and challenge Vlad? Start a game as a Galcom commander, then start shooting up GalCom assets whereever you find them. Try Earth space first. Let me know how long you last before your ship goes DeD.

  22. Eve online: Final report..... Well, boys and girls, what can I say? The following comments are going to be extremely negative. But I calls them like I Sees them. Apparently the Eve forums couldn't handle negative posts because every one of the ones I posted in my frustration to enjoy an experience that is going to be rare and virtually unattainable in the live version of the game were summarily deleted. I guess they didn't want potential customers to see the game for what it is. An unpolished unfinished piece of potentially excellent code. But I digress. Judging from the number of players listed as being in the gameworld prior to the removal of that particular feature. I would guesstimate that the Armageddon day debacle probably cost them around a million dollars in sales of the client and six months of subscriptions. I have alpha and beta tested many mmogs. And there has always been one common denominator. The Devs have always had a rather bad habit of shooting themselves in the foot by treating the players and fans like so much pond scum. Not worthy of their omnipotent attention. I sent the CCP devs a nice bug report with some good advice. Probably went straight in the round file. I have removed the Eve client from my hard drive this morning, defragged and it is quite possible it will never return. Most of the things you have to do in the game are mindnumbingly boring. or require little if any thought or intervention on the players part. It will all boil down to who has the patience and alot of time on their hands to waste mining asteroids and carting the stuff back to a station for refining and sale of the resulting ore and the most members in their corporation and who can afford the Phattest ships. No strategy whatsoever. in Summary, If you enjoy being bored out of your mind, Waste your money on this title.
  23. New Eve update: Last day of beta testing truly turned out to be Armageddon day for Eve. After applying the Armageddon day patch, I was able to play A whole two hours before they pulled the server down for yet another patch to fix what they screwed up. After two and half hours of down time. I attempted to log in only to find that the autopatcher was nonfunctioning. No update to be found even on the download site. So the beta testers have effectively been given the old heave ho. Get out and stay out until you buy our game and sign up for $12.95 USD a month. I wouldn't touch it with a 10 foot pole. They have displayed all the expertise and professionalism of XGamer. Steer well clear of this one kiddies. CCP= Crap Crappier Productions. Produced by S &SI Spit &Shove It. Buffoons the lot of them.
