quick note as I have seen this before IRQ 10 which you list as being used by your soundcard is usually used by a system device and while (in theory) it can be shared with your soundcard your better off setting your card IRQ to 5 if you can. I have seen this cause problems in the past with creative sound cards hope this helps

I picked up XBTF and Xtension from Electronics Boutique for £5 about a month ago never really got into BTF but played Xtension for a while but Jez is it slow, its like watching paint drying especially since your character is supposed to already have devoloped from the first game. I plan to get back to it but I'm enjoying BC3k to much at the moment (and I'm away from home ALOT)

I bought my copy (ver 2.08)about a year ago from Electronics Boutique in Dublin, played it for a while and couldn't work it out so it sat on my shelf for a while. Then while flicking through the manual and the online docs I found the web address. I hung around for a while and started participating more on the forums and BC came off the shelf again recently(I was tied up till then with work and stuff) now I'm flying the stars exploring what I can do and just generally enjoying myself.(No combat yet I'm working up to that)

My fathers day started with my son waking me on my mother in laws couch at 8am hitting me with my card(he's only 18months so he couldn't really wake me any other way) then I got brought out for lunch attended an interview for a new job and then got bought a spanking new DVD player by my son and my wife, then we went home to our own house put the little guy to bed and my wife and I sat down and had some drinks and watched some DVD's(nice day I believe).

note of information, as I am changing my job today and my website is stored on my work pc(and mifix is not back yet) I have moved my site to http://Andromeda.jumpfun.com. Its a fast site but has a banner add on the site(which I don't like but hey) when mifix gets backup I'll try transfer back but its happy were it is for the moment

Nimitz started his report as the Andromeda hurtled through space heading for home .......... Three days later James presided over Commander Jackson funeral at Wraith HQ, Jackson had no family and his request had been to have his body committed to the cold of space that he loved so much. The GCV Andromeda had been released from dry dock for the occasion, and as she sat in space James Smyth gave a fitting epitaph to his fallen commander, his fallen friend. Commander Jackson was buried with full military honours, many other members from Wraith showed up including FC Gallion, which surprised James a little. James was glad to see however that Sargeant Nimitz had been able to attend, James had given a glowing report on Nimitz's part in the operation when he was debriefed indeed he had proved himself a confident and effecient marine and James hoped he would do well. After the proceding were over James was in his quarters looking over some personal effects, there was a knock at the door and James was surprised to see Gallion standing the far side of it. Gallion invited himself in and complimented James on an operation well done."Thank you Sir," James replied,"but I really ......" "Nonsene,"Gallion but him off,"You got your ship and your crew home in one piece, that was some nice manoveurs you pulled off." "Thank you, Sir". James snapped smiling slighty as he responded. "I'll get straight to the point Smyth", Gallion continued,"You have proved yourself a competant commander on a number of occassions, not least of all the Andromeda's last mission, you have refused promotion to Commander on at least three occassions stating you wished to stay on board the Andromeda." Gallion paused and smiled wirely at James,"Leutenant Smyth, I am hereby promoting you to Commander and transfering command of the GCV Andromeda to you, Congratulations Commander," With that Gallion reached into his uniform pocket and picked out a set of Commanders stripes and attached them to James's uniform, "Well done" James shook hands with Gallion and turned to look in the mirror. "Now Commander", Gallion started,"do you think you can get me back to HQ without any problems." "Yes SIR." James smiled and turned as they both headed to the bridge. When the got to the bridge James was surprised to see all his officers gathered on the bridge, as they entered the all stood/stopped what they were doing and clapped. Gallion gestured towards the command chair and James moved tentively towards it. Sitting down slowly James took a moment to survey around him, somehow the Andromeda seemed different now, she was now his responsibility. Geraldine stepped up and brushed the arm of his uniform with her hand, brushing her fingers over the commanders stripes, she leaned over and whispered in his ear,"They suit you!" she kissed him gently on the check and stood up, saluting she said,"Congratulations SIR!" James Smyth Smiled as he took one more look around the bridge, his officers were all saluting at him as he watched, he stood up out of his chair paused for a moment and took a deep breath,"Helm set course for Sirus Station, Cruising Speed." As the crew turned back to their stations James Smyth smiled and the Andromeda turned towards home............

OK I'm no expert here but that looks like a memory error to me do you have any other progs giving you problems? You forgot to mention what OS you are using that may help a bit.

Update........ The text has been updated the work 9according to them) is going well however they are going to limit the server to 1000 users till they upgrade so get in quick once they are back up.

Well considering who they are (and the fact that they can't afford a case) I doubt they will be upgrading the server.

Tac, Just went to checkout the new HQ(or the old one on a new server?) I have to say the download speed is not great(and I'm sitting behind a 10MB download pipe) Am I the only one with this problem or have others seen it too?

Probably not but the SC will make sure we certainly get alot to keep us busy.

I agree SC take your time we all know how hard you and the team are working(especially coming to gold time)I also agres CTAS would be a good feature though it would open so many possibilies for pirates and the like and taking bounties, targeting ships engines to disable them and the like. Its like has been said before BCM will be an ongoing devolopment and with every update we will be awarded with more and more(till we can handle no more)

I agree and while I don't play FPS that often I have tried lots of different control methods for FPS and I found the mouse is the best. I have a "ball less" mouse that gives great control and excellent response and I really don't know what I ever did with out it. Thats my recommendation for the day

James sat pondering in his quarters in a little over half an hour his whole world had changed, he was now (temporarily at least) in command of the Andromeda and it was up to him to get the ship and her crew home, he activated his desk console and stared at the damage report, a number of key systems were damage, the cloak was drained. He knew they had parts for most of the critical components on board it was the parts they didn't have that worried him, he glanced at the parts list folker had prepared so far a couple of major parts needed, plus the fact that IC 4 would need to be replaced sooner rather than latter. He went over and poured himself a drink, activating the com system he was connected to the bridge,"Helm set course for the nearest friendly station, best speed!" Walking to the window he looked out as Andromeda jumped towards the system exit gate, he stared aimlessly into the black void his mind wandering through the past with Jackson as his guide. The knock on the door shocked him to reality, he turned, and sat back at his desk his drink still in his hand,"Come In"

CALL THE POLICE its not an option just do it, if Mary won't then you have to, you were a witness and he needs to be sorted out or he'll just keep getting worse. Don't let her become a victim like so many others out there. She needs to send him a message and the police are the best way to do it.

OK my first post for tech assist, I have the boxed version of BC3K ver 2.08 and recently patched to the ver 2.09 and have installed the 3dfx files for my voodoo3 card. however I am having problems after I launch an OTS missile(and watch the cool cutscene) my FPS rate drops right down it only rectifies itself if I turn of the AP but when I turn it on again the problem returns. here are my system specs. James stood on the bridge as the report from Sargeant Adams came in, "Ok get them outta there, HELM, make course out of here best possible speed." As the transporter pulled the marines from the surface the Andromeda pulled clear from orbit of the planet, watching the target zone on Tacops James smiled when a few minutes latter the entire installation exploded in a ball of flames, James wondered to himself why it had to be done this way, why an orbital assault wounldn't have done the job but, he put the thoughts out of his mind and left the bridge heading for medbay. When he got there medics were busily treating the injured, half a dozen marines sat on beds with various injuries along with a couple of medics and some engineers. James walked over to Geraldine Meagher the chief medical officer,"So Geraldine how bad is it?" Geralding turned to James and smiled, it was a sign of sympathy but it warmed James slightly to see it, he liked when she smiled it raised his spirits even at dark times, he returned her smile with a wiry smile."Not to bad," she said returning to look at the displays on her console,"The marines aren't to badly hurt, Rob Faulker has some bad radine burns but he refused to stay for treatment he let me patch him up and then returned to engineeing," James laughed Faulker was a stubborn man and loved his job in James's opinion he had an unhealty obsession with the Andromeda's engines but he was a damn good engineer and James could think of no one else he would rather have in engineering never the less Geraldine would not mention it if she was not worried he turned and activated the com panel,"Chief engineer Faulker report to medbay for treatment, that is an order." the com link crackled from the other end indicating a response but James cut him off not wishing for an arguement from his chief engineer turning back to Geraldine he smiled at her and said,"If he's not here in the next half hour i'll get some marines to 'invite' him up here." Geraldine winked,"thanks hes a stubborn git, were did you get that?" James looked he had a large gash on his right arm, Geraldine grabbed a bandage and some wipes and started to clean the wound,"I must have got it on the bridge." "I heard," Geraldine looked up at his face as she spoke,"Its a terrible thing thats happened here today James and now a big resposibilty lies on your shoulders, I know you'll do a good job, she kissed him on the check and then pated his arm,"all done your free to go sir." James walked over to the bed were Commander Jackson's body lay he stood for a few moments as he said a silent prayer for his fallen commander, around him the buz of the medbay died as people watched. James turned and looked at the bridgeview,"Sargeant get this 'TRASH' off the bridge, tactical arm six missiles and target that cruiser." The crew responded quickly returning to their stations and resuming their duties, marines scrambled to remove the dead intruders and take the unconcious to the brig."Tactical what is our status," James barked his voice hanging heavy on the bridge, his voice had changed he had a fire in his eyes that no one had seen before and he stood staring at the viewer never turning his attention. "The Insurgent ship is just outside the atmosphere, Sir. I believe they are only getting intermitant readings on us because of the interferance." "Good!", James smiled wirely,"REDUCE SPEED!" The Andromeda lurched slightly as she responded to the helm, low enough to be caught by planet gravity, and still getting buffeted by the planets atmosphere she was slow to respond but she did. On the bridge James watched as the Insurgent ship pulled ahead slowly, "Missiles armed sir!" "Helm take us up behind the other ship, tactical prepare to fire on my command!" The Andromeda rose from the atmosphere like a phoenix rising from the dead her skin glowed red with the heat and that fire was reflected in Smyth's eyes on the bridge. The Insurgent ship immediatly started to change course and her PTA turrets opened up hit the Andromeda's shield, on the bridge James held firm staring at the bridgeviewer intensly he watched as shot after shot hit the Andromeda's shields, at this range they couldn't really miss. As the Andromeda drew closer the other ship it filled the view screen.......... "FIRE ALL WEAPONS!" James growled on the bridge. The missiles shot from the Andromeda hitting the insurgent ship HARD, at this range she couldn't miss either and all missiles hit in quick succession, PTA stations joined the attack also and the main IOD cannon fired with a perfect line on the Insurgents engineering deck. The six missiles did their job perfectly stiking hard on target and destroy the shield system aswell as causing some major damage around the engine room, when the IOD cannon and the PTA systems joined in the tide was turned completely. In under a minute the Insurgent ship plumetted planetside its engine room completely destroyed and severe damage to other areas of the ship. As she fell the Andromeda continued to fire but it was more to seal the dying ships fate than causing any new damage. On the bridge James Sighed, he took a second to compose himself and then turned to the helm,"Take us back into our place in orbit, Tactical, Get those ATV's and FIGHTERs back on board. Comms, get hold of Sargeant Adam's and get a sit rep, I want to be outta here as quick as possible" The Andromeda rolled as she turned towards her new waypoint soon she was joined by her IC's which quickly docked. On the surface the ATVs had broken their assault and were now on board the shuttles on their way home. James sat waiting for a report from the team on the surface. Somebody must be using it I got rated by 3 people (last check) only recently.

ok apologies there(note to self read FULL post before replying). I don't know who the equivalent of FC is for Police.

I recently requested an asset change from Hq and it was approved(my profile on the fleets page still shows a BC,however) so I suggest this is the route you should go contact your fleet FC and request an asset change.
