  2. quote:Originally posted by Supreme Cmdr: quote:Originally posted by DREADA: I like the shapes, colours and shades used on stations...gives them a more commercial/civilian look to them rather than typical drab military colours...this I like Well, thats basically what I told Jason we were shooting for and he, as always, took the ball and ran off with it. We're not like those other folks with cartoonish stations and rainbow colored ships. Or can opener-shaped starships
  3. quote:There are LOTS of games with add-ons, sequels, prequels etc which do a great job of segregating owners of one version over another. The problem is what?It divides the community. There's less players playing each game that if there was only 1 game. Yes other games do that too, and it sucks.
  4. quote:Originally posted by Dredd: I believe all drugs should be legalized (and thus regulated). That would solve a number of problems. 1. The MASSIVE amounts of money going into the drug war with no real effect. If legalized, the criminal [snip] the money or the skill to get them before, will be able to...and then die. Less idiots in the world.Well you have some good arguments about that - as long as I don't have to be affected -directly or inderectly, i suppose it's ok. Here, they've regulated ALOT the areas where you can smoke or can't. And if you're over the 0.08 limit of alcohol in your blood while driving, you WILL get arrested. Zero tolerance they say. But I don't want to breathe what other kill themwselves with. I don't want to sting myself unintentionally over a leftover sting in the park. I don't want to be beaten by someone who's freaked out. i remmeber holding my breath at the entrance of the school because so many people were smoking either tobacco or weed...
  5. Just like extasy. I read that it costs .50$/pill to make, yet it's sold at 45-60 bucks/pill here.

  7. quote:Just legalize ALL of it,Are you CRAZY? Either you are, are you don't know the power / strength of some of those drugs! Marijuana is the softest of them all, yet people are already largely affected by it. Anyway, I don't want to see co-workers shooting themselves at work.
  8. Only marijuana - nothing else. Do it the way Holland does it - and put taxes on it. Extra revenue, and costs less in police operations and trials. Double winner. My 2 cents

Pretty impressive, and that digs the Parhelia far from the gamer's eyes. ...but then again, at the end they say this : Yep. Dear Lord, let them continue because I for one don't ever want this madness to end. Lol agree i wonder where it will end.... And they say war is what what bring technological leaps... I think commerce and competition does it by itself
  10. Whoohoo! Pretty impressive, and that digs the Parhelia far from the gamer's eyes. ...but then again, at the end they say this : quote:Based on the current specs of NV30, believe it or not, it will be faster than the Radeon 9700. Since both ATI and NVIDIA must support DirectX 9, you can already guess at a lot of the specifications for NV30. It will obviously have support for Pixel and Vertex Shader 2.0; you can expect it to have 8 pipes and with ATI and Matrox both sporting a 256-bit DDR memory bus, you can also expect it to have one too. The one benefit NVIDIA will have with NV30 will be that it will be manufactured on a 0.13-micron process. Not only does that mean that NVIDIAÔÇÖs chip will be smaller but it also means that they can run at higher clock speeds, which can give it the edge over the Radeon 9700. 11. Actually, the longest time I missed school was a little more than a month... but it was justified (AKA not faked) I skipped school ONCE in my life : 1 course in the morning, because I was 30 mins late and didn't had a reason. I went to the other courses though. Next day, I came and said I had a flat on my bike, and it took a while to repair Nobody noticed, and since I was such a great student (!) it was marked as "justified" (the teacher didn't asked for some paper my mother would have normally done). Suckers! That was in 4th grade high school, or 10th grade in the american way of counting, so that's 2 years ago.
  12. what's your AIM addy agian? and how could I find you in a game?
  13. quote:Originally posted by Commander Elio Jason: ok i'll get on AOL. give me a secYou should have messaged me.. my nick is "CmdrEpsilonFive". I've been playing all night at either AAO or AH
  14. quote:Originally posted by Grayfox: guess they dont call it "game spy" for nothing eh??? It's not gamespy, it's gamespot
  15. quote:Originally posted by Commander Elio Jason: i finnaly got the damn thing to dl! anyone wanna do some missions with me when it's ,done?sure.. if you can come online on AIM... never saw you online once.. maybe it's becuse I have Trillian.
  16. Eh, and I like this quote from their website quote:America's Army is experiencing unprecedented popularity! Just prior to its release, the AA website had an average of 750,000 hits/sec. It's like... whooooooooooohoooooooo
  17. I've been able to play the game yesterday and qualify on MOUT_McKenna Love the game! pretty cool... I even qualified... shooting on your allies isn't too much of a problem, it sucks, but less than in CS (as I remember) We weren't many on the server i played (quite a difference from before), and yes, we were holding together alot. Always trying to hold that church in the middle. Eh, I was always trying to find where the charlie objective was (which was kinda stupid considering I was in team honor), until I noticed my compass at the top indicated the location of the objectives... hehehe There aren't many weapons available, and sometimes the impossibility to have what you want sucks, but personally, I think both the m249 and m16 are good in their way. In insurgent camp (the other map I played).. all i can say is GRENADE!! Man it's RAINING grenades when on a team of 12 people 6 are grenadiers, and everyone has 4 frags, 2 smokes and 2 flash. but there's nothing like being suprised by a party of 4 incoming your way, and backing off to get some heavy support (AKA 2 gunners - m249). i was killed by a grenade later then
  18. quote:Just try sitting in a room, without a pc for an hour and see how it feels. Hell, I was almost catatonic when I was barely on dial-up when I recently moved!!! Believe me, a LOT of people take freedom for granted. Until it is taken away from them.Hell I KNOW what you're talking about.. i got even worse... my mother once punished me for something (can't remember what) I did, and i couldn't use my computer FOR A WEEK, nor go at my friend's house (my mother has their numbers... so she could call to check if I cheated, which I didn't). I like biking, but it was horrible! It was many years ago too, but that doesn't change things much.
  19. Solution : have the worker go see a doctor appointed by the company, to prove he's sick. If he isn't, he's not paid that/those day(s) and he could face being fired.
  20. True. Dictators just love being given sanctions. Dictators are not affected by sanctions, the people under then are. And the people start to hate the countries sanctioning them. Eventually, it goes like this : 1 - A country is imposed sanctions 2 - The dictator goes to his multi-million dollars valued villa to drink some early 1900' wine 3 - The people start to starve, or run out of goods. 4 - The people are angry at the source of sanctions 5 - The dictator uses the hate created by the sanctions to build up patriotism, an army, and uses pity from the rest of the world to sound "deeply affected" The people cannot cause any kind of popular uprising if they are starving or out of material/money to make weapons of some kind.
  21. quote:Originally posted by Dredd: Yeah, if they have rules based space combat, it'll have to be like E&B. Some people like that, but the fan base will sharply decline at some point when the older players get sick of being so powerful, and the newer players stop coming because they are so weak and hate the fact the game caters to the people playing for 50 hours a week. That's why real-time combat is good....it's your skill, not how much time you play. Well .. personally I believe there should be a middle ground... I mean, just reduce how much your firepower increase from newbie to supergeek, but still, I'd like to have a little more raw strength overtime, yet, I must not be so powerful that attacking me is suicide. But accesory skills (not directly related to combat) should stay at they are, or better. Over time, someone should become a l33t weapon builder or something, and either use that power to 0wn, to help his party or just make some money.
  22. quote:China is building it's offensive weaponry in order to catch up with us.Eh, then why the US keeps so many warheads? China is building up on nukes for the same reason the US keeps some : because they want to defend themselves, knowing what the US think of them. Dramatisation / kind of analogy : - Your neighbour keep letting his dog pee and $#!7 on your terrain. - You go see him and say "If your dog pees and $#!7 once more on my terrain, I'm going to shoot him! - The next day, he goes out and buys himself a .22 rifle. - Althought he stopped letting his dog go peeing and etc on your terrain, you still send him warnings, and in return, he packs up on ammo, spare rifles and pieces. - YOU think he's going to let his dog pee on your terrain, and keep his rifle so to shoot you. - HE is afraid that you will shoot his dog anyway, just to be sure he won't ever pee again on your terrain. . Oh and I can predict that if the US blow out China, it will loose any ally they have. This could look like the start of another cold war, and you know what, this time I think the US would have started it. I think the US need to find itself an enemy all the time so they can justify why to keep such a large army. [ 07-15-2002, 12:34 AM: Message edited by: Epsilon 5 ]

  24. The new ping does seems to sound louder than the old one, but it's not what matter. the new one is high pitched and less as "smooth" as the old one.
