  2. quote:Originally posted by Supreme Cmdr: Why not wait for the mp Beta patch and then do a LAN party instead? Well, umm, where and who would be able to come? (refer to my first post in this thread)
  3. quote:Originally posted by Charles Lindsey: quote:The only way to make a virtual convention would be for the SC to make a special BCM server with only a small planet as universe, only FP allowed and 500 max people allowed There is half of an idea in that. Set up a server, use the instant action universe [trion(?), hellseye (?), and the other (?)], allow as many users as the limited universe could allow, and use it as a chat room. I know there is supposed to be a chat room but it would would be so cool if you could fly around in an actual BC setting and chat instead of a static chat room. Would be so cool but only Derek knows how it's gonna work so might be denied, too hard too implement, etc. Well I said only 1 planet and only fp, exactly because of the processing power and bandwidth to process everyone without creating too much lag.
  4. In any MMOG, there is the idea that you need to do time-consuming quests and trainings to gain skills and other kinds of "player-modfier". Without those, most people won't see the point of playing the game. However, the problem is, how do you reward a hard-core gamer long playing time without cursing a casual player over his weakness, because in a month he did what the hard-core player does over a week or less? I'm not even sure how BCO will get away from that. I mean, seriously... Derek is there a way you could explain how you could proceed? I do agree however that you cannot please everyone. that doesn't make sense. You should stick to a specific kind of people, but a MMOG should be made to try and please any gamer of that kind, no matter how much time they can devote....
  5. quote:Automated Responses -Steve I just want to let everyone know that they shouldn't get discouraged by "automated responses" even though they are *cough* personalized by whatever person is attending the mail that day. The mere fact that they have had to resort to MASS AUTOMATED RESPONSES due to the overwhelming amount of people complaining SHOULD at least be a CLUE there is a problem. Trust me, a normal business would realize something was wrong when they needed to have full time staff sending out "automated responses". Just for laughs...I sent this one in to see how CONCERNED they really are...have a look. Subject: VisionTek Xtasy GeForce Ti4600 Order Dear Sir or Maam, My car won't start because it is out of gas....I have nowhere left to turn. I am afraid that I may have to walk...and considering how lazy I am, that is unacceptable. I would like Best Buy to send me a Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwich and a free taxi to help me get home. I would appreciate any help you could give me in this matter. Steven Lynch RESPONSE: Dear Steven Lynch Thank you for taking the time to contact the corporate offices of Best Buy. We become very concerned when a customer is moved enough to express their dissatisfaction over the service they received. I apologize for not responding to your concern sooner. We received your recent communication regarding your canceled VisionTek Xtasy GeForce4 Graphics Accelerator order and apologize for your disappointment. A pricing error inaccurately displayed the item at a price much lower than its value and we will not be able to fulfill your order at the incorrect price. Per our terms of service, Best Buy reserves the right to correct any errors even after an order has been placed. Best Buy strives to make each experience you have with us a positive one and we apologize again for your inconvenience. Thank you for writing; we do appreciate your patience and your patronage. Thank you for your understanding. ROFL! Man, Best Buy sucks big time. Best buy is BIG, they have tons of store all around America (Not only US, Canada included), they could honored the deal and make themselves good publicity, instead, they sow themselves as arrogant greedy bastards. Shame on them.

  7. quote:Heck, I may just be cruising around in an asteroid, a probe or some other inconspicious game entity (since I have the ability to do that at will).I can see it... "Sir, err.. umm.." "Well?" "The Moon just appeared" "Err, what?" "Yeah, umm, Earth's moon just came out of the jumpgate..." "We're in Midae for god's sake, lieutenant!" "it's coming right at us! AHHH!!"
  8. The BC community is too international and too busy to be able to do something big enough. The vast majority of the BC community is working, and a good part have kids and stuff. And it's rather small. Sorry, but that's the truth.
  9. I don't want any bonus crap, and pay more because of it. I want the game CD, the manual, and maybe a map if it's needed (GTA3 comes with a map of the 3 islands, very practical). The lower the price, the better. However, my friend paid 80cnd for GTA3, while most games out there cost 60cnd. Sucks badly.
  10. Blood splatters and body decals are ok (like OFP), and basic gibbing (like half-life) is ok, but no body parts, and blood "jets"... no no no... I have a measure of morals
  11. I just think the United States are too much involved in the world's political problems.
  12. Dammn.....
  13. quote:Originally posted by Grayfox: just plain creepy. oh and dredd... you dont have to order your sims to go potty... if you let them sit, theyll go eventually. almost like potty training Well... if you do nothing - meaning leave your sims live his own life... he's going to deteriorate fast. I played a little... one of my friends had the original... I always made a clean, virgo character... the house was clean... and he was depressed Simcity is fun... very, but gets dull after a while. I have Simcopter, but it's kinda botched... I'd like to have a Simcopter 2

Ha. ha. Very funny. No I'd rather hide under the protection of 6 twin point defense guns, 4 main guns, large trusters and over 3k shields and 5k armor.

Oh, and btw, you should know what happened to the last guy who did a such thing. Ask Blades. [ 07-10-2002, 10:40 PM: Message edited by: Epsilon 5 ]

  22. ...because another Sims game is out... Sheesh, how many of Sims games there is out there? Worse is, all or almost all the Sims games take most of the PC Top 10 list... Maxis and Electronic Arts' HQs must be made out of solid gold with all the money they must be making...
  23. quote:Originally posted by Papi: quote:Originally posted by TheBunny: HELP!!! i downloaded the patch and BCM wont work! how do i get rid of the patce! (I think i didn't delete my save games. could that be a problem)The problem is most definately that you didn't run the patch inside the install folder. The patch deletes your saved games if you install it right. lol!
  24. Heck, just for the fun of it, I'd like to know what you people have as primary goal for MP, aside from destroying all opposition, since that's the main goal of all military force. You can include several goals. My goal is to officially become Strategic Commander, and have all the fleets in my hand. Maybe even Tacops Commander.
  25. quote: quote:Ahh man, bet your just gonna love sitting there laffing yourself silly watching a 'fleet cock-up' situation unfold. LMAO!!! Yep, that sounds pretty much like it. LOL! well I'll know who it is when I'll see a Terran Tourist Firestorm named the warmonger quote:giving tactical tips quote:.but instead it instantaneouly auto-repairsthat's what you call tactical tips?
