  1. He DOESN'T need his facts straight, you are forgetting whom he's working for. "Define IS" His phone number and e-mail is right there in that article, e-mail him. I did.
  2. "On her official Web site, Clinton lists "fighting the culture of sex and violence in the media" as part of her platform," Lol, I am so relieved, and here I thought that all this years of being quiet, she was actually working for her platform on: Industry, Trade, Bussineses, Lower Taxes, Smaller Government, Upholding Citizens Rights, Closing the Borders, Upholding Land Ownership Rights, Cleaning up the courts, Bringing the Declaration of Independence back, Bringing the Constitution back. Thought she was actually up to something useful like that, nah, instead she was "fighting the culture of sex and violence in the media". ROFL, hey here's a thought, maybe she could add to her platform "fighting the culture of sex in the White House", and how about FTC conducting an inquiry on how many middle and high school kids think this days that oral sex is not sex.
  3. And here's the answer why that institute is raising all the BS, and why Clinton is involved. "On her official Web site, Clinton lists "fighting the culture of sex and violence in the media" as part of her platform, and in March, she joined with Senators Joe Lieberman (D-CT), Sam Brownback (R-KS), and Rick Santorum (R-PA) to cosponsor legislation seeking $90 million over five years for research into how viewing different types of media (television, video games, and the Internet in particular) affects children's development. " Walsh (head of instutute) wants $, Clinton wants publicity.
  4. I don't deny that the things mentioned above happen. Where we disagree is, you call it abuse, I call it business. Intel has the right to impose conditions pertaining to it's product, it has the right to run it's company the way it wants, nothing Intel did was done by FORCE. AMD has the right to market it's product, AMD has the right to reach the customers any way it wishes, as long as it's not by FORCE. It has the right and the choice to put forth the same business practices that Intel did, it could also open it's direct purchase stores where customers (that do not have your computer savy and can't build their own) could buy pc's build by AMD. It chose niether, it chose to beat Intel by FORCE provided by the looters, that's where their misstake and my revoltion toward AMD comes from.
  5. Thank you LIS for making my point. Like I said, Intel is doing bussiness, it has the right to say to pc manufacturer "it's all our product, or none of it", it has the right to withdraw it's bonuses, it has the right to give out insentive bonuses, it has that right precisely because it's a free market, it has the right to do whatever it can do. Customers are the the ULTIMATE decission makers, and like LIS for example, will buy AMD product, without AMD resorting to handing out bonuses, mass addvertising, or "all or none" proposals. So free market does work. It's as simple as that, if customers buy AMD then AMD benefits, if they choose not then Intel benefits, the point is nobody is forcing anyone at the point of a gun or some undisputable directive issued by the government to buy one or the other. What AMD doing is using the tools that the looters (government beuracrats) have created, so that they can penalize Intel at the undebatable point of a gun (you can't argue with these looters), instead of letting the customers decide what share of the market the company will maintain. One of the reasons why I would NEVER buy AMD, as long as I will have a second choice, because from now on their share of the market will be not because of competition, but because it was grafted out for them by government, by force, without fair willful choice of the customer. Free market has worked, and will work, and it will always break when the undisputable force of the government meddles in it, then it becomes socialized market where Washington has a say and it then becomes the aristocracy of favors and pull, where companies who have friends get favors, and ultimatly we the people get screwed.
  6. I just finished reading it, and if you read and UNDERSTAND the complaint, then you will understand what a pile of BS it is. Point one: "Intel has forced major customers into exclusive or near-exclusive deals" Free market is you can buy AMD if you want, and you can buy Intel if you want. If a lot of people wanted AMD then the shop owners would stock AMD simply because it would SELL. By Intel using marketing and competing against AMD by telling a store owner that he can carry either AMD or Intel, what exactly is wrong with that? The store owner has a choice then, if he favors Intel then you can't just force him to sell AMD too, it's his store, it's his choice. If you as a customer want specifically AMD, then either go find a store that sells AMD, or order direct. Simply put, whatever the customer buys, the market will sell, and simply put majority of people do favor Intel. I would go on to dispute the rest of those points but since it all stands on the same BS foundation, I will not waste my time. If you have a product that customers are buying hand over fist, you can't lose, if you have a product where you need to SUE your competition in order to gain access to customers, then your product is a waste pile not worth buying. However I am familiar with AMD and do know that their chip is decent. AMD is still wrong for suing simply because they can't compete. People favor Intel not only because their chip is also good, but many favor Intel because of name recognition, company being in business longer, stability and compatibility. By AMD suing Intel, they are throwing aside the simplest law of free market and free choice, by trying to force their way in with the laws the looters have created to sue businesses, and before you start yelling monoply is illegal, let me tell you that monopoly is NOT illegal, and that there is NO SUCH THING. The only time you have monopolies is when the government is enforcing them, because they are the only ones who can do that with their beuracrats and directives, free market has no monopolies because you are free to offer your product to the people and pit it against the best. 7. Oh, and by the way, that's why ladies and gentleman EU wants it's own root servers, because they want to tax every single click of your mouse when you are on that computer. Every single piece of information, every cookie that is placed on your hard drive and every 1 and 0 that passes through their server. That is the link between the VAT that was instituted in 2003 and their own root servers of today and that's why they want US to link to them, to use US as a milk cow, to loot us (the people in US), from each according to his ability, to each according to his need... For reference on that thread you can go here: http://www.3000ad.com/ubb/ultimatebb.php?u...c;f=36;t=000463
  8. Scare tactics or truth tactics. What you have to ask yourself is, "Was Intel publicizing the truth about it's competition by saying that their product is inferior? And EU scrambled because Intels competition has a few friends in high places that used their pull to investigate and harass Intel for the "society's welfare". And since Intel has $ to loot, and the EU needing that money, draw your own conclusions. Talking about money to loot, EU will tax everything possible. Example of that being, GPS database updates. It's new updates for GPS software which is updated every couple of weeks, just like software updates for untivirus programs, spam blockers and even your own Windows operating system. Well EU is charging people a tax for updating their software, calling it VAT which stands for Value Added Tax. Imagine that. Value added tax. Stay tuned, Breathing and heart beating tax is next, called LMT, or life maintaining tax. See the VAT for yourself on the garmin website, middle of the page. http://shop.garmin.com/aviation/databases/...0&PN=GPSMAP+295
  9. Toll free number for the National institute and media for the family: Toll Free (888) 672-5437. Their mailing address: National Institute on Media and the Family 606 24th Avenue South, Suite 606 Minneapolis, MN 55454 E-mail: http://www.mediafamily.org/about/contact.shtml You can e-mail them in general, or attn: Dr. Walsh, let him know exactly what you think.
  10. Hey Derek, they can do it by the same token as people sue the gun company because one person shoots another with the gun that was made by that company, by the same token that the obese "humans" sued McDonalds for their obesity, by the same token those parents sued garage owners when thier kids jumped from one roof of the garage to the other. Till the time that we the people stand up and let them know we will not take it anymore, the people will be harrased and our lives infringed upon by this mad nonsence.
  11. Paranide, Why should you be able to patent a random order of 1's and 0's? Did those ones and zeros fall into that random order all by themselfs and now allow you to play Battlecruiser, Halflife, send e-mails and shop online, or did someone had to THINK, EXPERIMENT, and PUT those 1's and 0's into a SPECIFIC order, the order in which their MIND arranged it, not yours or anyone elses, and because of that you are now able to use your computer and even post on this board. Or do you still think that this board is just a random chance contraption that came out of nowhere due to random chance arrangement of 1's and 0's that someone madly without reason typed on their keyboard, and not the product of a detirmined mind sitting behind the computer screen and arranging those 1's and 0's to fit his specific goal of preditirmined outcome that HIS mind thought up. Judge, Even as you put it double clicking patents. Why not tripple clicking, why not quadrupple clicking, maybe without that guy you would have to click 5 times on a link to buy, 4 times to open in a different window, 3 times to open in the same window, 2 times to save to disk and one time does nothing. Huh, ever thought of that? So, those of us who do apreciate the value of thought and reason, the value of what others offer us by their inventions, in return will trade them something of value we posses. However, you don't have to worry, patents are not forever, so even the looters will be able to take over and produce the invention of someone elses mind without payment in return. The problem is, the looters don't even want to wait anymore, they openly take what is not theirs in the name of "social wellfare" for the benefit of all, at the price of the few. The looters moto is: From each according to their ability, to each according to his need... From Bill Gates to the governments who sue him... From the bussinesses to the states... From the emplyed to the unemployed... From the rich to the poor... From the workers to the leeches... From the ability of all these people, to the needs of all the others, by the force of the directive that is enforced at the point of a gun. From each according to his ability, to each according to his need... [ 07-12-2005, 05:49 PM: Message edited by: Soback ]
  12. Patents are THE ONLY way for inovations. Europe is a socialist society which thinks that everything is FOR the people at the expense of a PERSON. If you invent something then it's YOURS nobody elses, even if it benefits the whole entire world. In Russia the inventions started dying out right after the socialist communist revolution. I even remember an article of one guy inventing a new combiner (to harvest wheat) and then he never invented anything again because he didn't get a raise on his job, wasn't recognzed beyond that one article and a pat on the back. Why would you work, invent, publish, do anything at all if you get nothing for it. Would you cook breakfast if you never quenched your hunger, would you take a shower if you never got cleaner, would you work if you didn't earn anything for it, would you invent something if you can't claim it, would you write new piece of software code if you don't get what is rightfully yours? NO, you wouldn't, only those who have nothing of value to offer would ever stand by those words saying that yes they would, they would do that preciselly because they would want those who do have something to offer to follow suit and give them the product of their brains for nothing in return. Atlas Shrugged.
  13. Did you really expect a liberal socialist government to hold someone accountable for their actions? It's the societys fault he did it, and therefore it's the societys responsibility to shoulder the damages he caused. Peoples state of Europe.
  14. So what are you saying Nomad. Take someone and pay them more than their production/service is worth? One can argue that the people at McDonalds are making poverty wages. They can't live on them, they can't rent a place on them let alone hope to ever own something of their own, it probably would BARELY if even cover the food bill for a month. Go ahead, raise their wages to $25 an hour. How much would that burger cost you at the drive through then? Now how much do you think another person would demand for his wages, a professional, someone who spend 8 years in college and $75,000 for his education. Someone like a doctor for example? That doctor would say, "if the guy at McDee is making $25 right off the street, then my labor is worth $2500 right off the street". You need to THINK nomad, instead of just throw things out there whithout reason. Reason is what humans do, and when you pay someone more than their labor is worth it defies reason, ruins peoples lives, ruins the economy and lowers humans to animal level. Like I have said before, go read Atlas Shrugged and see on what course people with your ideas are stearing this world to, and for those of you who live in US, you will find out why those people hate us so much.
  15. Here, please people, voice your opinions to this ass embly man. Tell him how strongly you feel about his actions, what you think about how he does his job (or doesn't), and who you and your friends will be voting for next time. His e-mail: [email protected] Oh, and by the way, if you want to make a phone call or write a letter, here's the rest of the info: District Office 455 Golden Gate, Suite 14600 San Francisco, CA 94102 Phone: (415) 557-2312 Fax: (415) 557-1178
  16. How is that awful? For example that boy from the farming family is working and making money, he is probably making more money than he could be earning by doing odd jobs, or there's no odd jobs that he could find. Would you rather him making less money working odd jobs or not working at all?
  17. There's no sweatshops and they don't get paid dirt. The article keeps talking about how low their pay is and how bad it all is. Hey, if they could make more money in some other ways, then they are welcome to go ahead and do it, they are not chained to the table. It's how the economy works, supply and demand, and when you create artificial pay scales that's when the economy suffers because then you need to reajust the products prices to fit the artificial pay scales (minimum wage in US anyone?), which means raising the salaries of the other jobs and raising the products prices, therefore those lowliest pay jobs end up being lowliest pay anyway due to inflation.
  18. The biggest point is. By what right do they pass laws like this? By what right do they tell you all what you can see or what you can play? Do you live in China or do you live in US or Europe? How about all of you who posted in this thread, go and send an e-mail or make a phone call to Schumers office and ask him by what right he is censoring what you can watch and play, and if he is working for a communist government. Tell him you have had enough of him and his kind, and then mabye we will stop hearing about BS like this, and even people in Germany might get to play SoF the way it was meant to be played.
  19. "Misstakes" made by government employees need to be treated as criminal, charged and prosecuted as such, with stiff punishments like long jail times and even executions. Only then will you get accountability and this BS subsiding.
  20. Nomad, why don't you go campaign Russian government and complain about their prisoners treatment. Focus on that instead. What are you trying to achieve axactly? You turn your eye from the worst abuse and focus on the "abuse" that is even debatable. Why? You are not man enough to look at the REAL torture (in Russia), point it out and confront it, so you have to point to "torture" that is in Guantanamo. Are you doing this because you feel bad for the prisoners? Then who do you feel worse for, the ones who are kept in Guantanamo or the ones that are kept in Russian jails? It shows exactly the type of a person you and your like are, the free Tibet types. Scream loud, but no action types. Like I said, if you really care, then do what you can to help the ones who are abused the worse, not the ones where you can be heard the loudest.
  21. The problem is not the money, the problem is with government. They are a bunch of looters that's all. It will get worse too, Russian social communism has started the EXACT same way. It's called "in the best public interest", however, it never mentions who is the public and who defined their interests. The aristocracy of pull (beurocrats and polliticians who do each other favors, and back scratching deals) defines their interests as "public". While all they do is rape the citizens and businesses, and everyone else suffers in the end. Atlas Shrugged...
  22. Just allow people to carry guns. Period. See how quickly the criminals will be gotten rid off.
  23. Finally, some people with sence seeing that business is not evil, but government that missteps it's boundaries is evil.
  24. 13 women and 11 men, lol, I guess two of the guys had extra fun.
  25. So, all of you are badmouthing Bill Gates for being a good businessman and establishing a business within the law of the country where that business is to be conducted, yet you completly ignore the fact that those LAWS are established by the contrys GOVERNMENT for him to follow? ROFL. I guess everyone who makes money is bad, just because he makes money. Where would you all be without Bill Gates, sure as hell not posting on these here boards that's for sure.
