I think that the reason the workers are dissatisfied in $25,000 to $35,000 range is not because of rediculous reasons this article gives (technology, productivity?, just plain stupid), but because the pay has laged behind the inflation and house prices. Now less people are able to afford their own place, and with the inflation outpacing the pay raises the standard of living has been slowly declining (movie tickets alone have gone up from $6.00 in 1998 to $11.75 in 2005) In bay area you can barely afford a one bedroom appartment for rent (somewhere in the slums) if you are making $30,000 or below (if making $25,000 and less, forget about living by yourself). So there's your reasons in a nutshell. How can you be happy making $35,000 and barely making ends meet. PS. Only 2% of houses in US are owned. The rest 98% is financed. Property taxes in CA is 10%. House prices in bay area are on average between $370,000 on the really cheap side, $600,000 on average and the rest just goes up well into millions. So if you buy a $500,000 house (just an average place) you will be paying 500 dollars a month just in property taxes. That's $6,000 a year + loan payments on the house. Basically, forget about owning your own place if you make anything under $50,000 (after taking out the state tax, federal tax, social security, medicare, CA disability fee).

Federal government doesn't have the resources. I do. And when you talk about the government helping someone, you are also talking about the government taking money away from me. Money that I've worked for, earned and have every natural right to keep. Things just don't appear out of thin air.

Maybe save the paystubs and file in small claims court.

Yeah, thanks, I'll let you know. When I poped it open, it had the battery (it looked like some flat aluminum bag) and it looked like it was just fused through conectors with the chip. I basically couldn't figure out a way to unplug it short of just pulling on the strip that was connecting it and ripping it from the chip. So I screwed it back together and threw it in the drawer. Telling you, lol, pen and paper really is the way to go. So, what does the Ipod run on? Build in batteries or AAs? For all you know, it's just a ploy for people to buy new (when the batteries give out)

Actually, some emmit not only the same signal (there's different ways you can jam) but all emmit at 10 or more times the strenght (if you transmit at the same or lesser strenght, you will only cause interference, static and such). (unless it's a passive jammer which is basically just insulation, and LIS, you can isulate yourself and be safe from all those bad cell phones )

Yeah, my Ipaq batteries started giving out little by little, now they are completly shot, it only works off of plug in outlet. But I've transitioned back to pen and paper after having a couple of diffuculties with batteries on pretty much all handhelds (I've had Palm, some other brands, and this Ipaq is the latest). Nothing beats a good date book.

For me it's simple. If I catch someone using the jammer. I slam them a couple of times, get thier wallet with their home address and tell them if I run into any problems, I will talk to him later at that address. Then I call the cops (to them he will say nothing about me slaming him), then I have them confiscate the jammer, write up a report, arrest him, and I make sure to follow the whole thing till enforcement and prosecution takes place under existing laws (it's simply illegal, and existing laws provide for a fine and even some jail time). I use my cell phone 95% of the time. I fly airplanes, work in aviation, rarely home. My cell phone is my main voice mail box, my link to all my family, friends, and business. Who are you to interupt that link? Not only are you violating the law, you are disrupting my life, to which I will hold you liable. And you Grafox, you work at the store, you are paid to help customers, if she is too busy talking, you are paid to stand there, and help her in any way possible. She is not asking you to do something out of the ordinary, you are there for customer convinence, for which are you are gettin paid for. Simple as that, that's why it's called CUSTOMER SERVICE.

So, I think it should be like in the old days. If they have that tax instituted, then people who didn't pay shouldn't get the services. When US was established, it was like this, if you wanted fire services, you go to your local towns fire department and pay the fee and get coverage for a year. If the fire breakes out, they pull out a list, see if you paid, go to your house and put the fire out, if they don't see that you have paid, the go to the site, and just prevent the other houses from burning down, but they DO NOT put your house out. Which brings around the point, if you pay that tax, and someone doesn't, then those who do not, should NOT get the fire services, let their things burn then. Wolferz, here in bay area the fire department are the first ones to come out, doesn't matter if it's a fire, an accident, a medical emergency, whatever it is, they are always called in. And because we are so deep in the crapper, and the local governments take the money that are paid in taxes for things like fixing the roads (local city roads are not funded by the state, but by that city, freeways and interstates are funded by state tax), maintaining parks, cleaning the streets etc...and relocate it to social care for unemployed, laser surgery for tatoo removal for gangsters (yep, paid out of your taxes), all kinds of other liberal social bull. Well, then when there's no money left for the things they were supposed to go towards, they institute new taxes, raise existing ones, and pull *&% like they did with this hunter guy, which is similar to what they did last year, old man was having a heart attack, his wife called 911, fire department came out, monitored him, gave him some medicine and whatnot, then the hospital van came out picked him up. A month later a bill shows up for them, demanding thousands for "fire truck call out services". My exact point is, that fire trucks operation was already paid for, for the whole fiscal year. So if it wasn't for the damned beurocrats and their social programs we would have no problems operating the NEEDED services. Ahything else that is just a social "nice" service should be left to be funded with donations from private groups, businesses and individuals, NOT with our taxes beind diverted to them, and NOT with mandatory fees.

That's bull. He didn't do it maliciously, and we already pay for the fire services with our taxes. Where do our taxes go? So frustrating. It's just like in San Fancisco. If you call 911, and the fire department comes out. They bill you later for their costs in coming out. That's such crap. Don't our taxes already pay for fire departments services? What, they sit there all day long, collect their paychecks, it's their JOB to go out, they have already been paid for. Now, in San Francisco, they want to institute a 17c tax charge on paper and plastic bags at stores. Didn't the stores already pay taxes when they purchased those bags to give to the customers for convinence? They just want to tax everything, even the things that have already been taxed, and double taxed. Now they want to tripple tax them. Maybe one day, we will get rid of all this bull. Who knows.

What? Games kill people? Games influence people? All this is, is a bunch of BS with crocodile tears mixed in, a huge pile of it. I play GTA, I played it for years. I have played tons of violent games, strategy games, FPS games, role playing games, you name it. The only thing those games do is provide entertainment. Why, because I am smart enough and was taught enough to understand what is WRONG and what is RIGHT. Why, because my parents took the time to educate me about such things, and to reprimend me when it was needed, to teach me what boundaries are and when they are needed. I, therefore, am a stable and productive member of society. The problem here is with the waste of society that is taugh that they are not responsible for their actions. They have never been taught responsibilites, never been reprimended, never been educated. They have been let run free much like the animals in the jungle. They have never been taught to respect others. And things like that will continue happening un till WE, as a society will put our foot down and start reprimending and punishing not just those who perpitrated the crime but those who were responsible for these animal upbringins. Meaning, death penalty for the criminal (yes, even this "juvenile") and maybe even prison time for parents. Also, if the criminal is of adult age, then not only the death penalty for the adult, but also the seizure of all their property and assets with redistribution of it to those harmed. AND ALSO, to prevent the situations like this developing, when police catch these kids in *minor* acts, the family as a whole needs to be punished, not just some entry in the kids file with community servcie, but punishments for parents also. Then and only then will you see some changes. You make people responsible and liable for their actions and you will see people who will actually THINK before they commit a crime, and if they still commit the crime, you take them out of socity by the penalty of death. Simple. Go read a book called "Starship Troopers" by Robert A. Heinlein. And no, it's nothing like the movie. Then maybe you will understand the society and the thread that binds it and what separates animals from people. And maybe learn to distinguish that the person who commited that crime was nothing more than an animal, and his parents are to blame along with him. What do you do with an animal when it has commited an act beyond redemption? Well, my grandfather used to shoot dogs that were completly untrainable. So make your own conclusions.
