Scrivener, just pick up and issue of Nature or Science and you will see findings of fossils of 'transitionary species' as you call them. Just a couple of weeks ago I saw a paper on the discovery of an ancestor to a whale, which had skeletal features similar to modern day baline species, but also had articulated limbs, like a land-dwelling mammal. Also, why do you think we have DNA and protein sequences similar to other, even non-mammalian species? Pure coincidence, or evidence for a gradual evolution from a common source? Hell, even the protein I'm doing my thesis on has over 80% homology between mouse human and bovine species. It also has significant homology to sequences of entirely functionally non-related proteins. I'm a scientist, I base my conclusions on the evidence placed before me. Another evolutionary aspect is that this thread has put myself and Jaguar in agreement. That HAS to be progress!

Hey, wait a minute now, this was sent to me by a friend in the US. The threads were getting kind of heavy around here, so it was an attempt to try and turn things around a little. Sorry if you can't see it that way. The fact I live in Switzerland is beside the point, I nearly lost a family member in NY, the fact she was late for work probably saved her live. I'm not sure how many of you are aware of the significant British involvement in palestine after the end of WW2, in which 100s of British Police and members of the armed forces were killed by Palestinian and Israeli terrorists, some of whom went on to form the Israeli government (Menachim Begin for one). Unfortunately, is was all part of our own making, we'd promised Palestine to both the Jews and Arabs and then the whole thing got out of our hands. Reading the article, it seems he was offended by the words 'These colors won't run'; it appears he is himself colored (he won a racial discrimination case after all) and probably (misguidedly) took offense to the reference to 'coloreds' running. So it wasn't being non-patriotic, just getting the wrong end of the stick, playing the racial card and getting on his high horse about it. Talk about crazy political correctness To me, the fact that he is a muslim is irrelevant and it is irresponsible to mention it in the light of current events. I have to say that apart from the best drink in the world ie Guinness, the Belgians and the Czechs make the best beer in the world; smooth, tasty and often strong as hell. And Blades, I'm a Southerner (by birth) and I take exception to the fact that we all drink lager. It is a complete fallacy, and it is widely accepted that we all, in fact, drink Pimms, accompanied by a nice fruit salad, often actually in the Pimms itself. With mint. The only time I was in the US was at a congress in Norfolk, all the guys were drinking Miller Lite, ugh, more like Miller f*cking soda water if you ask me.
