Geez people, it's a GAME, not an attempt to start another world war or something If you've already gone through the PS2 version, then as of this moment, there's not much more to see. The singleplayer game is almost exactly the same, and online multiplayer is little more than a glorified Half-Life with geo-modding. CTF, DM, and TDM are the only modes really available, and the game's multiplayer mode doesn't even support vehicles (you can't even create a multiplayer map with functional vehicles through the map editor, though they work fine in singleplayer). About the only nifty new thing is that the PC version, of course, DOES ship with an editor, and that there are various mods under construction. If you haven't played the PS2 version, go pick it up for an intersting (albeit quite short) singleplayer experience. But otherwise, there isn't all that much new to see

Heh, those of you with the U.S. version, grab the box, open up the inside flap, and take a look at the lower left area, primarily where it talks about the mission editor

*Pokes his head up admist the fire fight* I found it rather funny....... *Sticks his head back down again*

I probably couldn't add anything that's already been said, so I'll just extend my sincerest heartfelt sympathies to those involved in this tragedy.

Actually, the general consensus out there is that Cartoon Network's showing of Cowboy Beebop was pretty damn good....

Roar!....Or this guy.

Max is Paynefully short and BCM is still in crunch. What now?

To all of you out there who get Cartoon Network, a hearty "screw you" goes out. No, I'm only half serious But I'm quite annoyed at how Shaw thinks they're too good for a channel like CN... it'd be easier if Space channel and Teletoon hadn't stopped playing their anime specials. Feh!

I rather enjoyed it's dual-campaign singleplayer.. multiplayer I got bored of fast, everyone else died too easily. [ 08-29-2001: Message edited by: Parias ]

Haaalp! Some weird problems with a GeForce2 GTS

If you're running WinMe, just pop in your WinMe CD, boot up FROM the CD (might have to twiddle with your BIOS to enable that), let the WinMe setup load, EXIT the setup, type in "Format C:" (throw /q onto there if you're impatient), and once that finishes type in "Setup", and proceed to reload your OS. ......That's all, of course, presuming that you've backed up all essential stuff before-hand and everything [ 08-23-2001: Message edited by: Parias ] -
Unfortunately the ones I played with weren't able to transform.. but if you want to screw around with them (they look damn sweet, and the weapon effects are incredible when combined with a Babylon 5 addon I was using), click here and here. Enjoy buddy, kicking some Taiidan ass is a lot funner when you've got a wing of Veritechs are your command! Although I had tweaked the .shp files to be a bit better... balanced by the end of the game If you want my "enhanced" version, drop me a line on ICQ. [ 08-20-2001: Message edited by: Parias ]

Indeed. That's like saying that Freespace 2 was better at doing a free-form universe than BC3k. Come on, for the love of gawd here writers, you're doing the space-gaming-variety equal of apples and oranges!

Download time the second it was released: 15 minutes. Play time: 5-7 minutes. Uninstall time: 10 seconds. Intense, but TOO DAMN SHORT.

Heh, that's an old classic, good one

A quote from the developers that I found on the official forums: quote:It is true that Red Faction draws its origins from the Descent series, it is not related to the Descent Trilogy in anyway. Red Faction has been in the making for a long time and shares very little in common with anything Descent-related. Indeed, Red Faction shares much more in common with other First Person Shooters, such as Half-Life, than it does with the Descent Trilogy. The things that are unique to Descent are just not present in Red Faction. While I think Descent fans will enjoy Red Faction and will find certain parts of the game more appealing than others, I think you do the game an injustice when you call it Descent 4 with a different name. We are truly creating an original game full of things that no one has done before.
-
What? No, the game wasn't supposed to be Descent 4, it has NO relation to the Descent universe. At all. And, the game quite frankly kicks ass. Both my experiences with the PS2 version and the PC version prove that. Once people make some custom maps and throw vehicles into multiplayer, coupled with the various gameplay modes that will be available AND the geo-modding, this game is going to OWN.

3dFX Glide support for non-3dFX cards

Voodoo 5 here.. runs all newest games great, and also works great with older games. My 1.1Ghz system more than makes up for any performance issues -
"Job security" isn't exactly something you can brag about when you join up with Sierra... Babylon 5 anyone?

The one I mainly use is "Galatae" (yes, typo, I know.. but it's age old ), but I've recently started using "Antaeus" too.
