How bout that since the shuttle has a faster speed of almost all craft out there that the Shuttle is only capable of achieving the towed crafts maximum speed. Also shuttles would be unable to achieve escape velocity (orbit) while towing CC's. This would mean that if your CC is that badly damaged you would either have to use a shuttle to retrieve spare parts or tow it to a starbase. Kinda harsh but simple..I think

PTA's- Do they all do the same amount of damage?? Some of the Heavy cruisers have more PTA's than a Super Cruiser. So will the PTA's be more effective and deal more damage??

You did a wonderful job of explaining it Uhmm but what I meant was that "I hyperspaced for at least 5 more seconds AFTER passing through the earth" that was before the Exiting Hyperspace message came. I was pretty far away by then.

Hmm I dunno. Soback: I Hyperspaced for 5 more seconds through the Earth before I got pulled back to the planet. I think I was away from the Gravitational pull by then. Mitchelle: Check page 50 of the manual about slamming into things while in Hyperspace. Anyways, I love this game and cant stop playing it. (was that Cliche`?) But its true. All I'm doing is pointing out that these things happen. I personaly use my Imagination and blame it on the Nav Officer (and Flight Officer). Ok, Here is my Newbie Question for the day. How do I Assign my AE a Combat Kit so he will have the Jet pack and stuff on Team Deployment? I've read the instructions (pg. 58 sect 8.4) and still cant figure it out.

Hmm, I've been thinking along the sam lines. Seems kinda cheap in a way, but thats my own personal preference. I personally do not use shuttles for towing unless it is an emergency. I do like the experience I had yesterday....My CC was stuck on earth and unable to lift off after I left the FO ( or was it the Nav O..still figuring out who to shoot ) at the helm and told them to head into orbit. Well to make a long story short (and have something to tell in another post), the Idiot damaged the craft so badly I couldnt take off, so I had a Shuttle lift me off the ground and take me to the GALCOM HQ, we got to 30k ft and started loosing altitude. The shuttle could not lift me up any higher, no matter what I did. Pretty cool if you ask me.

Heya!! Just had to chuck in my 2 cents. I have had this problem also and on more than one occasion. Here is what happened: I was near FLX 4 (on the Mercury end) when I noticed there was a Storm Carrier near Mercury. I decided to take my Garid and teach him a lesson. I hypered on over just as I exited Hyperspace and begin maneuvers, the cutscene came up and I was on Mercury. Once again I was at the Flux 4, targeted a StormCarrier that was close to Mercury and wound up on the planet without receiving "Do you want to make Planet fall?" message. This has happened near Pluto and Earth (while leaving the moon) as well and I was nowhere near the atmosphere.

I prepurchased this game...(looks at receipt) June 16 at 1026am. I've waited patiently for it to be released delay after delay. No problem I say, Just means the game will be that much better. Now its gonna be released around the 29th (as per EB) so I get my system all set, drive defragged, Make sure all drivers are up to date, all set YES!! So now I'm rubbing my grubby little hands together Like a whino in a Liquor store..figuring its all good..right?? WRONG!! BAM!! I get my marching orders..Gone for 3 weeks. Hehe..Tho I do gotta admit she looked pretty good in Galaxy Quest (wonder if the makeup artist got an Oscar for that) I've heard of Niven, but havent read any of his books. Same for Pournelle. I'll definatley look into their stuff next time I'm at borders...Getting tired of reading the same stuff and waiting for Part 2, 3, or 4 to come out. Hope to see more stuff out in the future, like you said lots of material is available.

WOAH!! Now you are talkin!! SPAWN in CGI..That would be something!! Another cool one would be if they did an ALIENS vs PREDATOR in CGI (seeing as we may never get a movie and Sigourney is gettin a bit "long in the tooth").

Heheh.. Yup they always have that problem. Exact same thing happened to me 2 or 3 weeks ago. Homeworld was $39.99, and Homeworld Cataclysm was $19.99...Guess which one I bought?? Anyways I asked the Cashier why the price difference, and he even scanned them to check and see if the system had the prices as marked..and they did. Only thing we could come up with was that the BarCode (or SKU??) in the system for homeworld was much older reflecting the price from months ago while Cataclysm had a newer Code/Sku reflecting the current MSRP..who knows. Anyways Got a good buy..now if I can only get the Darn thing to run without crashing!!

I remember this show was on last Summer. Thats when I first heard of/seen it. Havent seen it or about 6 or so months now (in Va.). Last episode I recall they were on Earth Fighting bugs (dont want to give too much away . Can someone tell me if it progressed further. ) Hey Luc!! The newest CGI shows on now are MAX STEELE and ACTION MAN Kinda kiddy, but not a bad show of CGI. Actually My Fav next to RoughNecks has got to be Transformers BeastMachines Great CGI there IMHO.

Also: "Even the hair-thought to be one of the most difficult things to create in CG-flows and moves beautifully, thanks to the 60,000 to 70,000 individually controlled strands of hair placed by the artist." "Each frame has twice the resolution of HDTV, and contains a whopping 10mb of data. At 24frames per second, the entire flick takes up roughly 1,350 gigabytes of hard drive space." Thats just part of the article, but it give some idea of what it took to make this film. Ummm sounds pretty impresive. Cant wait to see it this weekend.

Actually I think the original Enterprise looks better...After they got more money and better technology (NCC-1701A from the movies). Yup the Akiraprise ( I said it first!!) looks better than the original series. Then again nothing can compare to TOS, that is in an Era all its own. When I look at it the Akiraprise has a sorta Retro Look, The saucer section kinda reminds me of that Saucer from "Plan nine from Outter Space??" (think thats the name). Anywho we all know this show is gonna be a hit sooner or later. How long do you think its gonna take em to have 7of9 fall through some Subspace anomaly, timeshift through the Q continum to land on the Akiraprise and save the Day (and ratings) with here Quantum Torpedos!! When the show first came on I hated it. Now I like it..kinda grows on ya like some kinda fungus. Just gotta know what they're gonna do next. Anyways It shows on SCIFI Channel here and I believe they'll start showing the 4th season this Friday or Saturday. Commercials I seen had them here on earth. Like Wolferz said..Its campy!!
