Whats there to think about? If it's not there, there is a very good reason for it. I know your upset at not being able to get your hands on the demo, but whinging about it here isnt going to change the fact or win you any friends. As a newbie to the game and the community, you should sit back and NOT compose this kind of inflamitory topic. Derek has enough on his plate with finishing the product without having to deal with posts like this which can get everyones back up. It's not how we do things around here, and thats why we are such a close knit community. I hope this thread gets deleted by one of the CAT crew quickly.

Dear god, reading that made my scrotum tighten. Still, as absurd as it sounds, I wouldnt put it past those euro muppets in Brussels to *konsider* it. ------------------ Fleet Cmdr. [RP] 11:33 hrs, 19th May, 3008 Modified LRT-15 Transport S.S Vulture Command Deck The bridge was now clear of the wounded, thanks to the efforts of acting CMO David Foss and a mixture of GalCom and Insurgent officers. Savage had been taken as soon as he was stabalised out of the wrecked bridge and down to the imfirmary along with the bodies of several of the mercs. Rattler was holding up well despite his injuries, and had insisted to one of his worried officers that his injuries were not so severe that he needed immediate attention. He was now working feverishly under the mangled tacops terminal while Reynolds worked with equal fever on the communications terminal. Soon, a small damage control team entered the bridge. Led by one of the Insurgent commanders and Gallion bringing up the rear, things tensed once again as Galcom and Insurgent came together amidst these unusual circumstances. Fortunately each of the officers concentrated on the immediate problems rather than allow the Gammulans violent incursion to give them an excuse to launch at eachother. Everyone that is, except Gallion. Reynolds observed him for a few moments while he waited for his diagnostics PAD to finish itÔÇÖs scanning cycle. He stood there looking over the bridge, his arms folded and looking about the motley crew with a look of contempt on his face. He looked at Galcom and Insurgent officers alike with the same hardened glare, and only allowed his features to soften when Rattler rose from under the tacops terminal and offered him a mag-span. ÔÇ£You here to work or here to supervise?ÔÇØ said Insurgent One. ÔÇ£What needs doing?ÔÇØ asked Gallion, arms folded. Rattler spread his arms wide and gestured around the bridge. ÔÇ£It would be easier to say what doesnÔÇÖt need doing.ÔÇØ As an after thought, he added, ÔÇ£Hows Savage?ÔÇØ GallionÔÇÖs face hardened. ÔÇ£I saw a couple of medics dragging his sorry carcase towards the infirmary.ÔÇØ Rattler smiled. ÔÇ£Looks like that famous Blades luck held out. He should be dead ten times over.ÔÇØ Gallion took the mag-spanner from Rattlers hand and looked over the brutal looking head of the instrument while responding. ÔÇ£The funny thing about luck is that it has a nasty habit of turning bad on you when you least need it. IÔÇÖd rather put my faith in Murphys predictible, unpredictability than that *******s luck.ÔÇØ Rattler frowned at Gallions outburst. ÔÇ£Like it or not Corsair, if weÔÇÖre to succede in this mission, we need him.ÔÇØ ÔÇ£Correction.ÔÇØ Started Gallion, stepping past the Insurgent Commander in Chief and over to a busted terminal. ÔÇ£YOU need him. I hope we understand eachother.ÔÇØ Rattler left it at that. He knew enough about the wily Corsair to know when the conversation was over. Perhaps there would be time later to finish the discussion, as well as go over a few additional details that might be beneficial to them at a later stage. But not now. Rattler turned to his side as he instinctively reacted to the sudden yelping from an officer beneath a console to his left. He glared down at the writhing Leutenant Commander Reynolds as he bolted from the console. ÔÇ£Son of a *****!ÔÇØ yelled Reynolds, shaking a burnt hand in the air. ÔÇ£You ok?ÔÇØ asked Rattler. ÔÇ£Uh, yes sir. I think I managed to get power back to the comms system. I accidently bridged the damaged circuits with my hand ÔǪ seems to have done the trick.ÔÇØ Rattler smirked. ÔÇ£Novel approach Reynolds. Get yourself to the infirmary.ÔÇØ ÔÇ£Aye sir, I think IÔÇÖve had enough dam- ÔǪ ÔÇ£ Rattler noticed that the communications officers attention was suddenly away from him and to a flashing dial on the newly repaired console. ÔÇ£What is it?ÔÇØ Reynolds stood and felt over the console. ÔÇ£WeÔÇÖre being hailed, sir. Without TacOps functioning, I cant tell where exactly itÔÇÖs coming from, but itÔÇÖs a ship ÔǪ and itÔÇÖs pretty close.ÔÇØ Rattler went back to the damaged TacOps terminal and began pulling at damaged wires again. ÔÇ£More Gamms?ÔÇØ Reynolds shook his head. ÔÇ£No sir. The transponder reads it as a merchant vessel ÔǪ. UCV LEO. Shall I, ah, patch it through?ÔÇØ Rattler thought for a moment and looked around the bridge. Smouldering consoles, buckled deck plates, blood smears over nealy all the surfaces ÔǪ. Not the most inviting of images ÔǪ but certainly one that could be taken advantage of ÔǪ ÔÇ£Engineering, this is the bridge. I need a status report ASAP. Tell me what we need if weÔÇÖre gonna make our rendevous ÔǪÔÇØ [/RP] Ben, engineering is a mess. Several key systems are on the brink of failing. Basically, the Vulture could sure as hell use some supplies from a conveniently located ship. Get your list together and go ÔÇÿshoppingÔÇÖ. Remember ÔÇô The fate of the galaxy is in the hands of the people on this ship ÔǪ we cant play nicely all the time. IÔÇÖll let you guys take the lead on this one ÔǪ. ------------------ Fleet Cmdr. Things to bear in mind as an RP newbie :- A lot of the RP threads here crossover in one form or another. Many of the characters have been involved in multiple RP scenarios through the RP years. Although it is possible to simply jump in at any point, it's always a good idea to research previous threads to see what went on before, so somthing nasty from the past doesnt pop up and catch you by surprise. My own threads tend to lead into past events from time to time, such as meeting up with characters from past scenarios. As for the Into The Fire run of threads (Them being parts one, two and three to date) I would suggest you read Joyride (Which is based immediately before it) and the Preemptive Strike series which is dated approx 5 years previously. Theres lots out there, and It's all good reading. It might take an age and a half to plough through it, but it will help you better understand how we do things here. And in case your wondering, I tend to run these threads a little differently than the others ... which you will notice once you start to get into the Preemptive Strike scenario. ------------------ Fleet Cmdr. C'mon guys, I know you're all eager to get into the demos, but if it's not available today, theres probably a very good reason for it. Just sit back and be patient. No point winding anyone up by these sorts of inflamitory remarks.

Why repair at a station? Heres an answer. It's a lot safer than sitting in open space just waiting for someone to attack you. Why do the repairs in realtime? Realism is the key here. Repairs take time. Time sat around waiting for repairs teacher you restraint and good judgement when going into combat. You are less likely to engage in a near fatal suicide run if you're going to have to sit back and spend a lot of time repairing your busted assed ship. Sure, you might get unlucky, and if you play it right your engineers can repair the damage in flight or you could buy replacement systems and just swap it out. Of course, that cosys money. End of the day, the real time repairs teach you to respect your asset and force you to carefully consider your in game actions before commiting to them. I for one welcome it. ------------------ Fleet Cmdr. Karl Savage GCV - Tsunami, Orion Starstation (CENTRIS) Fleet Leader, ORION FLEET www.orionfleet.com 'Here cometh the storm!'

I havent been using ICQ at home for a good while now, and It's taken me an age to track down my old UIN. Eventually found it in the old 'Choose a new Orion Fleet Commander' thread from over a year ago. Twas interesting, nostalgic reading ... [RP] 11:14 hrs, 19th May, 3008 Modified LRT-15 Transport S.S Vulture Command Deck For the third time in the last minute, the Vulture rocked from both internal and external explosions. The deck plating below fleet commander SavageÔÇÖs feet began to rupture from the violent pummeling, and he found himself losing his footing once again. ÔÇ£Dammage control! Get some people to reinforce the SIF on deck 1 immediately!ÔÇØ Savage grunted as he stamped down on the buckled plating. ÔÇ£Ah, sir?ÔÇØ asked Reynolds. Savage stopped his foot pounding for a moment as he met Reynolds apologetic eyes. ÔÇ£What is it now?ÔÇØ Another blast from the Gammulan attacker almost rocked Savage off his feet. ÔÇ£Sir, we donÔÇÖt have a damage control team to dispatch ÔǪ. We donÔÇÖt have much of anything here.ÔÇØ Savage grimaced and stamped down in frustration again on the deck plate. ÔÇ£What kind of a ship is this?ÔÇØ More buffeting from weapon impact. Two console mounted against the aft bulkhead blew out and sent shards of plexiglass scattering over the bridge. ÔÇ£ItÔÇÖs a transport!ÔÇØ bellowed one of the mercs. ÔÇ£We never expected to take this ship into actual combat for gods sake!ÔÇØ Savage ignored him and glanced down at the depressing battle statistics on the tacops display. Shields are almost gone ÔǪ. Hull integrity falling by the minute ÔǪ. Internal explosions running along the length of deck two ÔǪ. What next? Savage knew better than to ask these silent questions. The universe always had a knack of handing him his ass just when things couldnÔÇÖt possibly get any worse ÔǪ. Yet ÔǪ ÔÇ£Sir!ÔÇØ shouted Reynolds. ÔÇ£The Supercruiser ÔǪ sheÔÇÖs ceased firing.ÔÇØ Savage checked the tacops console. Reynolds appeared to be correct. The Gammulan Supercruiser had indeed stopped itÔÇÖs barrage of weapons fire ÔǪ yet she wasnÔÇÖt breaking pursuit ÔǪ. If anything, she was closing ÔǪ. Uh oh, I got a bad feeling about this. ÔÇ£I think weÔÇÖre about to have a new problem.ÔÇØ Said Rattler in his dead pan voice. Savage looked up into his partners eyes ÔǪ and read in an instant what the grizzeled old warrior was thinking. In that instant, Reynolds reported a power spike from the Gammulan vessel. In the instant that followed, the familiar sound of a transported beam began to pierce through the noise of burning fires, shouted status reports and sparking internal systems. Savage went for his side arm the same instant as Rattler, and turned so the two men were back to back on the bridge as nine additional Gammulan warriors blinked into existance. ÔÇ£Aim true!ÔÇØ said Rattler, raising his sidearm and firing into the head of a Gammulan that had materialised a mere seven feet from him. The Gammulan collapsed, the focused energy beam burrowing through his faceplate and punching through, into his brain. Savage fired at a Gammulan that had appeared a mere three feet to his left. He was fortunate, the Gammulan having materialised with his back to him. The shot hit him squarely in the back, knocking him to the floor but not killing him outright. In fact, the relative low yield of SavageÔÇÖs standard sidearm probably didnÔÇÖt even hurt him through all that armour. He didnÔÇÖt give it any additional thought, mainly due to the sudden and unexpected rushing rfom another Gammulan who he hadnt previously seen charging into him and sending the pair of them hurtling over the tacops console. Savage landed hard with the Gammulan on top of him. He looked up into the visor of the alien aggressor and failed to surpress a shrill gasp as the Gammulan pounded hard onto his chest with a large, powerful fist. There goes a rib, thought Savage. The fist pounded down again. Another sharp wince, more cracking. There goes another one. Looks like Im gonna die now. Not Today![/ib] shouted the other voice in his head. Today you will get the crap beaten out of you, but you will NOT die! Savage decided he prefered the opinion of this side of his brain. The Gammulan hunched over Savage didnÔÇÖt expect the frail human commander to rear up and smack his head into his faceplate. He was genuinly surprised when the impact slightly unballanced him, but was more than a little ammused that the human had knocked himself unconscious with the pitiful blow. This hesitation, however, enabled Rattler, who had just finished dispatching a third Gammulan marine with his energy pistol the time to force the muzzel of his weapon against the Gammulans left temple and pull the trigger, vaporising a golfball sized path through his head. Savage was oblivious to all of this, however, and embraced the welcome unconsciouness like a comfort blanket. When he ragained consciouness, he found himself looking up into Reynolds blodied face and wondered where ÔÇÿFluffyÔÇÖ had gone. ÔÇ£Wheres Fluffy?ÔÇÖ asked the Orion Fleet Commander. Reynolds looked confused. ÔÇ£Ah, the bridge is secure, sir. We lost four of the mercs and Rattlers banged up pretty bad.ÔÇØ Savage blinked away confused imagery in his head and struggled to sit up. ÔÇ£Whats our status?ÔÇØ Reynolds helped the Fleet Commander to his feet while he gave his report. ÔÇ£The Gammulans on deck two are contained. We beat back the capture team on the bridge and weÔÇÖre about 30 seconds away from our nav objective. Rattlers got the helm.ÔÇØ At that moment, the Gammulan Supercruiser reknewed itÔÇÖs turret fire. ÔÇ£Guess they decided weÔÇÖre too much trouble to capture now.ÔÇØ Savage nodded and looked over the beat up bridge. Bodies were strewn everywhere, mostly Gammulan. ÔÇ£They were just trying to beat us down before. Now they want to kill us outright.ÔÇØ ÔÇ£Glad you decided to rejoin us!ÔÇØ shouted Rattler from the helm. ÔÇ£Get on the nav terminal and give me a countdown to initiate the slingshot thrust!ÔÇØ ÔÇ£Aye, aye.ÔÇØ Said Savage, not for a moment realising he was now taking orders from his mortal enemy. Reynolds helped Savage over to the nav terminal, and brushed aside the dead merc that previously occipied that station. Quickly, he pulled up the data from the nav computer, correlated his data with that of the helm console and calculated the optimum angle to execute the maneuver. ÔÇ£Thirteen seconds ÔǪÔÇØ said Savage. More weapons fire buffeted the Vulture. A ruptured fuel coil exploded somwhere midship and lit up his console like a christmas tree. We cant take another impact like that ÔǪ. We got one shot at this and one only ÔǪ ÔÇ£Nine seconds ÔǪ.. eight ÔǪ. Seven ÔǪÔÇØ ÔÇ£Standby for emergency maneuver!ÔÇØ shouted Rattler. ÔÇ£All hands, brace for impact!ÔÇØ ÔÇ£Three ÔǪ two ÔǪ one ÔǪÔÇØ Pray. ÔÇ£ENGAGE!ÔÇØ The Vultures afterburners burned into life and propelled the smaller ship across the surface of the large asteroid they had been heading to. Not more than a hundred feet from itÔÇÖs surface, it skitted across itÔÇÖs surface like a missile, following the contours of the landscape before pulling up to gain some altitude. Likewise, the Gammulan ship pursued the transport, but kept a respectable altitude and not being drawn close to the surface. Rattler cut the afterburned and allowed the transport to cruise in itÔÇÖs new orbit, gaining distance from the pursuing vessel as it did so. Once more, the Gammulan Supercruiser lanced out with itÔÇÖs turrets, missing the Vulture by a short margin and hammering the asteroids rocky surface. The Vulture continued itÔÇÖs orbital run around the asteroid, and breached the mid way point well ahead of the Gammulan vessel. Now positioned close to itÔÇÖsoriginal course away from the debris field, Rattler punched the afterburners once again and propelled the ship faster away from both the pursuer, and the asteroid. ÔÇ£WeÔÇÖll achieve breakaway velocity in six seconds ÔǪ. Five ÔǪ. Four ÔǪ three ÔǪÔÇØ The Gammulan vessel breached the mid point of itÔÇÖs own orbital pass of the asteroid, and fired itÔÇÖs own afterburned systems in an attempt to catch up to the running Vulture. However, the mass of the Gammulan vessel was significantly greated than that of the fragile transport, and with the additional burden of being caught in the asteroids gravity well, failed to make up the ground they had intended. The Vulture had no sich difficulty pulling away ÔǪ itÔÇÖs mass didnÔÇÖt hinder the get away like that of the Supercruiser and sped away from the encounter and clear of the debris field. The Supercruiser could only slowly break from the asteroids pull and watch helplessly as their prey burned away to freedom. ÔÇ£Very nice.ÔÇØ Said Rattler, taking his hands away from the helm console. ÔÇ£Looks like we bought ourselves the extra time we needed to initiate a hyper jump.ÔÇØ Savage looked to his left at the Insurgent Commander in Chief and offered an exhausted smile. ÔÇ£We did good ÔǪ. This time.ÔÇØ Rattler nodded. ÔÇ£With any luck, next time we get jumped by a Gammulan warship, weÔÇÖll be more prepared to fight a more conventional battle ÔǪ something youÔÇÖre better suited to.ÔÇØ ÔÇ£YouÔÇÖll get no argument from me.ÔÇØ Said Savage. A few moments later, the Vulture engaged itÔÇÖsfully charged hyperdrive engines and hurtled back on course to the systems exit wormhole. Somwhere behind them, and completely unknown to the Vultures damaged sensor systems, the Gammulan Supercruiser mysteriously exploded. Reynolds painfully sat down at the communications terminal and opened a channel to sickbay. ÔÇ£Foss, we got wounded up here. I need you up here, stat.ÔÇØ He killed the comms link without waiting for a confirmation reply, and began to compile status reports from all over the ship, frowning at the appaling casualties among the merc compliment and now, more than ever before, wishing he wasnÔÇÖt on this suicide mission. [/RP] Most of the merc compiment on board ship weÔÇÖre killed during the boarding operation. The Gamms busted up a few of the Galcom and Insurgent boys, but there were no casualties other than those written in. There are now weapons strewn all over the ship, and hardly any mercs to take them off you. If you want things to get ÔÇÿInterestingÔÇÖ, nows your time chaps. Incidently, Im away for a couple of days, so donÔÇÖt expect anything else until the weekend. ------------------ Fleet Cmdr. Into The Fire Act Three  Firestorm Were moving on in the story now. Weve been too quiet as of late, but with Gallions recent defection to the Insurgency, its probably a good idea to continue onwards since some of the events in this tale are related to it. If youre not sure what Im talking about here, you may well want to read back through the previous two threads and join the dots. Onwards .. [RP] 11:11 hrs, 19th May, 3008 Modified LRT-15 Transport S.S Vulture Command Deck Commanders Log The last twelve hours have taken its toll on me. Ive had to deal with attacks on my crew, an officer breaking down, tensions between the mercs and commanders from both GalCom and Insurgent ranks. Whats worse, I still havent spoken to Rattler since the briefing. Every time I get close to having a discussion with him, some other emergency gets in the way. Take the med bay, for example. That came as a real shock. Im glad Foss was there to deal with it. Ive got too much on my plate right now to deal with that on top of Akumas collapse. Sigh. Akuma  I can see her on the monitor screen right now. Shes in engineering, consulting with the merc engineer and trying to squeeze a little more power into the deflector grid. She looks so . Young. . And then theres Neena. Damn I miss her. Seeing her on the McKendrick, face to face with Insurgent One himself was quite a sight . I enjoyed her surprise, enjoyed seeing her completely taken aback. Heh, perverted it may be, but what can I say? Sigh. Six more hours and will will be at the rendevous point. So far we havent attracted any unwanted attention. Well, there was that sensor echo just after we left the station  seemed to be tailing us for a while . But its gone now. I had Gallion up here checking over the readings. He was reluctant, as youd expect and it wasnt comfortable having him on the bridge with me. Hes got a real problem with me. Blames me for him being brought up on charges. Hell, I dont really know what happened out there during the fight. I was just asked to review data and pass judgement based on the information available. From what I saw, he was guilty as charged. Whether or not that was everything, I cant say. I cant know. Whatever the case, my vote was just one of a handful . It wasnt as if I myself clapped him in irons and led he to the dock. Still, he blames me more than most .. or maybe it just seems that way. Hell, I dont know. Whatever the case, whatever the truth . Hes here now . Im still not sure of the how and why, but the Galcom newsfeed we intercepted a while back made it clear that he escaped from captivity . Killing at least one escort in the process. That makes him an outlaw now  a man without a home. Nothing more than a wanted criminal  he shouldnt even be here. He should be under guard, confined to quarters . Nothing to do with this mission. . Yet at the same token, he is the perfect man for this mission. He has the skills, the guile and the audacity to be a vital part of this team . And hes also right in his rantings  we are unprepared  my stalling in the briefing room obviously tipped him off to that. Like it or not, once we get aboard the McKendrick  were gonna need him there to help us plan the Akiras extraction. Hmmm. Ive also noticed him and Rattler speaking. Although not the best of friends, they have a grudging respect for eachother. I can relate to that. The Man behind the mirrored glasses is a charming character  its difficult to really hate the guy . What he stands for, easy enough  but the man himself  ? The relationship between him and Akuma still confuses me. I know few of the details, and like a paranoid fool, I dragged Akuma along on this joyride with me as insurance against trechery. Morally, it was the wrong thing to do . But tactically, I had every right to do so. He probably thinks im using her . And in a way, I am  but theres something more going on than im willing to admit  and considering the things she said to me a few hours ago in her quarters  well, I know theres something more to it. But where does that lead me? Sigh. Too many things to think about. Too little time for trivial worries. I have to get focused  stay sharp .. be ready for battle. Six more hours  six more hours and then we can . What? Alarm? End Log Savage cut the recording of his personal log a few moments after the alert klaxons began blaring through the ship. He looked to his right at Reynolds who was monitoring the Vultures communications systems. Whats going on? he shouted over the din. Sir! Comms are being scrambled. TacOps has picked up a bogey . A big one bearing down on us. It came out of nowhere! Savage bolted from his chair and rushed up to the TacOps consol. What we got? he said to the merc manning the station. Tactical is having a hard time identifying the target. Lots of distortion surrounding it  Savage shook his head. Thats because it just decloaked you moron. The merc frowned, then nodded. Ah, I knew that  getting a reading  its a SuperCruiser class, Gammulan military . Gammulan millitary  striking behind the lines! Oh hell  full power the shields, PTA systems to 80% . Get us the hell out of here! From behind him, someone entered the bridge and barked over the noise. What in the hell is going on, Savage? The fleet commanded didnt bother turning. He knew that voice very well by now. In case tha klaxons didnt give it away, were under attack Rattler. Any other pointless questions you want to ask while you have my attention. Savage felt a sharp slap on his back, and noticed Rattler had barged the merc tacops officer to the side and was looking down at the console. Hmm. Supercruiser .. we can out run it. Thanks for that heads up, Rattler. It didnt occure to me to run like hell  Rattler grinned whilehe worked the console. I thought all you Orion commanders stood youre ground . Didnt run from a fight. In case you hadnt noticed, this isnt the bridge of my Firestorm  we are way outclassed in this tin can. A merc from the front of the command deck glared at the fleet commander. Hey! Thats my ship your talking about. Both Savage and Rattler shot the merc the kind of look could freeze a lake. Ok, ok  said the merc. Was just sayin is all  Just then, the Raven shuddered from the impact of concentrated turret fire, unballancing Savage and sending him hurtling to the deckplate. Helm! shouted Rattler. How long until we can initiate another hyperjump? The helmsman quickly pulled up the information on his console and relayed it back to Insurgent One. Six minutes until we are at full charge . According to our flight path, were one jump from the systems exit wormhole. Six minutes thought Rattler. Even if we jigged like crazy to evade her, our shields couldnt take that kind of pounding for that long . We need to buy us some more time. Savage pulled himself to his feet and looked at Rattler. We cant last that long. Rattler nodded. I know. Again, the Vulture rocked from more weapons fire. The moment it passed, the tacops readout displayed some grim news. Shields at 48% . At this rate were not gonna last another two passes. Rattler nodded. You got any bright ideas fleet commander? Savage frowned. This isnt my kind of fight. Evading the enemy is something IIS is good at, not Orion. Despite the grim situation, Rattler grinned at Savages remark. How true . Lets have a look here  Rattler pulled up a system may and quickly examined the surrounding area. Instantly he scrutinised the current flight path, took in all pertinant details and barked an order to the helmsman. Helm, break our current course and burn like crazy into the debris field. The helmsman nodded and began making the course corrections. Savage looked over the readout Rattler had pulled up, and for a moment failed to see the reason why Rattler was pointing the Vulture into such a dangerous area. Then he saw it. That one? he said, pointing to a large asteroid a few hundred klicks into the debris field. That one. Said Rattler. Savage nodded. Nice thinking, I almost missed it. Rattler smirked. Dont feel bad, Savage. Ive tried this trick before  Tried? said Savage. Rattler nodded. Ask me about it later  The Vulture took another glancing blow from the Gammulans turret weapons. Although the shield damage wasnt severe, the continual pounding was making a mess of low priority, hence low shielded, subsystems. Sir! announced Reynolds as he steadied himself. Weve got a new problem! Hostiles have boarded us. Two squads of Gam marines have beamed on board . Decks two and three! Oh shit, this is soooooooo not good. Sound general quarters! All personel, repel the intruders! The battle for control of the Vulture was on. [/RP] Hopefully that will wake you up. [RP] quote:Originally posted by Rattler: I welcome him to the Insurgency and, should you ever gain control of your senses, would welcome you as well. I'm flattered, as always, old friend but this tired old tune you are playing will never get my attention. Despite recent events, the Insurgency is still and outlawed organisation my duties are still the same as they were the day I put this uniform on. Though some of us may sympathise with your cause, we are officers of Galactic Command first and foremost, and until such a time as the UFN changes it's policy to the Insurgents, we are charged with holding back your expansion and defending the peoples of Earth from your misguided agenda. YOU of all people know how close we came to the brink of anhiilation not so long ago, and you of all people should realise that it is only in unity that we, as a species can prevail against foreign attackers. Again Insurgent One, I implore you to disband your organisation and embrace the ideals of the UFN freely. Officers of your calibur can be re-intergrated into our society and help us defend against foes that have the means and the motive to destroy us all. [/RP] ------------------ Fleet Cmdr. Commanders of the Orion Fleet, Despite recent publications in several less that respected tabloid newscasts, no member of the Orion Fleet has defected to the Insurgency. Although I am not at present at liberty to divulge the identity of the turncoat, I can tell you that the officer in question was once a well respected member of the Wraith Fleet who had disgraced hiself in the field of battle and had been branded as nothing more than a criminal. Well, this commander is no longer deserving of our respect and as such, should you encounter him in your travels, you are to terminate him with extreme predudice. Theres only one thing worse than an Insurgent ... and thats a man we once called friend becoming a traitor. As a courtesy, we are expending all available resources to help assist Wraith Fleet in the pursuit of this individual. That is all. ------------------ Fleet Cmdr. By my reckoning, you should already have had one. If not, you'll be getting one tonight. In the mean time, I suggest you look up some old topics, get your butt over to the Orion Website and get reaquainted. ------------------ Fleet Cmdr. Wold, one day Im going to beat you to death. Epsilon5, play nice now. They may be our mortal enemies, but they know their stuff. Theres more gaming experience in the Insurgency than the rest of us combined, so pay heed to their good (If questionably motivated) advice and prosper from it. ------------------ Fleet Cmdr. What is it with you Insurgent's always draggin your feet into my place? Did you not notice the Orion Fleet Members Only notice? ... but who can stay mad at our funny chum aramkie? ... Anyway ... Epsilon 5, if you think you're gonna be out and about the galaxy in a Firestorm - you got another thing coming. They dont just hand super carriers to any Tom, Dick and Aramike you know. You want somthing like that, you had best start greasing up to the Supreme Commander or steal one back from those Insurgents. I got a fealing that those beauties are going to be seriously limited (A good thing I may add) and only high ranking officers (Like Fleet Commanders for example ) are gonna get to test drive them. For now, I'd stick with a Mk2 or 3 Battlecruiser ... which are damned fine ships IMHO. Anyway, you never know .... with until Christmas and see whats poking out of your stocking. ------------------ Fleet Cmdr. Most dangerous? Hmm, there are many. Heres a few favorites :- I Love You Probably sent more men runnin for cover than the blitz. Men are not good at hearing that sorta thing. At least not until they get used to the idea .... if they stick around long enough to get used to it, that is. Do I look fat in this? This a lose / lose question. Whatever you say, it's going to be wrong. Women ask this only if they want a fight, or a guilt present. You say no, and they accuse you of 'Just saying that!' and lay on the guilt. You say yes, you get a broken nose. You hum n har about it (Lets call that dithering) and the eyes narrow, the hands clamp on hips and before you know it, you're obviously seeing another woman or are bored with the relationship. Exit stage right ... You just get out of the pool, or somthing? .... or any other reference a mans, um, manhood. Guys dont like this. Guys hate it in fact. Men are fragile, ego driven creatures. The worst thing in the world, no matter how liberal a guy *claims* to be, is to make any derogitory remarks (Even in jest) about his tackle. ... so I hear, anyway ... Anyhow, Akuma? Are you not paying attention to fleet postings? Mail me this instant! ------------------ Fleet Cmdr. Um .... I wasnt refering to Gallions post at all, Greg. But anyhow, since it's brought up ... no, I didnt get any blessings for it. The name was freely available, and since Im recognised as running this here fleet, I took it upon myself to register it before BCM gets here and any old random nugget decides it would be fun to own it for their own nefarious purposes. Since BCM / GCO is gonna be recognised in online gaming world over, it's best to keep it in the hands of those that will put it to good use. Should at some point in the future Derek decide he would like to hold all rights to this, and other like domains, I have no problem in signing it over to him, but I doubt he'd really worry too much about that. After all, we are the community - not random nuggs. Just out of curiosity, would any of the other fleet commanders be considering getting their hands on the other fleet domain names? Might be an idea to consolidate all our online assets before the masses take that option out of our hands. Greg, Im setting a pop account up for you this evening. I'll mail you the details for it shortly. ------------------ Fleet Cmdr. Good to have you with us, Epsilon 5. I registered the domain name a little under 24 hours ago and aranged web forwarding to the old sites location. A whois lookup on the domain name can take some time to fully update, but a dot com usually takes about 24 hours. After that, we just need to wait for DNS proliferation throughout the internet. Should take another 6-12 hours after that. Since Im sitting on my own name servers, it works like a charm for me already, but that doesnt exactly benefit anyone else. The email addresses I've set up for fleet members are already working, so anyone interested in getting one should let me know asap. Espech those that have long and complicated existing addresses. I've done all this to get us more organised. Communications has been a problem for some of us recently, so I've taken these measures to improve it. I've got mailing lists set up, mail forwardings for those that require it, even auto responders for the busy peeps amongst us. Dont anyone ever say I dont take my role as Fleet Commander seriously. ------------------ Fleet Cmdr.
