Wow, is this a group hug moment? I'm feelin a whole lotta love in here tonight.

Well, if you had stopped by and checked the links, you would have found a news section in place. As for the rest of it, it's all comin along nicely and will be uploaded as soon as we get a fixed release date for BCM. And while you're here, you need to lose your quote and fix your sig, including the url bit. Welcome back sweetheart ------------------ Fleet Cmdr. Karl Savage GCV - Tsunami, Orion Starstation (CENTRIS) Fleet Leader, ORION FLEET www.orion-hq.fsnet.co.uk 'Here cometh the storm!'

Alex, The reason you are an ensign on the forum is because you are a new commander, with only a few posts. Once your posts to the forum climb to over 50 (I believe) you will get an automatic promotion to commander. Normal forum users are commanders. You have probably seen a few with Fleet Commander and higher ranks. The Fleet Commanders are just that, Official game Fleet Commanders, as in the higher ups. The other ranks you will see are for the admin personnel on the board - Basically those that have the power to modify and delete threads all over the board. ------------------ Fleet Cmdr. Karl Savage GCV - Tsunami, Orion Starstation (CENTRIS) Fleet Leader, ORION FLEET www.orion-hq.fsnet.co.uk 'Here cometh the storm!'

Welcome to the Orion Fleet, Commander. Now you have registered on the fleet database, you need to format your forum signature to follow the fleet standard below. It should look like this : Commander Alex 'Hawk' Kich GCV - Star Panther, Orion Starstation (CENTRIS) Tsunami Battle Group www.orion-hq.fsnet.co.uk 'Here cometh the storm!' Suggest you try it out and post here for results. Commander Greg Miller will be in touch to discuss assignment details. ------------------ Fleet Cmdr. Sheesh, right now Im feeling old at 27. Still, you only meant to be as old as the woman you feel, so I guess Im still kickin it at 19. But in my humble opinion, I would say the average life expectancy in say, the year 3000 would be to the ripe old age of about 110. You'd be considered old by 80 and eating food through a straw by 100. Medical science may keep you alive younger, but what really defines your age is mental competency, which can go early if you are unfortunate, or last as long as the flesh on your bones. Character wise, Savage took over as FC of Orion back in 3004, when he was a mere pup of 35. So by 3015 (BCM current date if thats still accurate) he would be 46 - still nimble enough to go chasin da ladies. ------------------ Fleet Cmdr. Well, there is commander Akuma Minako of the Deterrence Battle group. She qualifies as being female. mmmmmm Oh, and I believe Commander Echo of the Insurgency is female as well. She's misguided tho. Believe there is another female commander, and she's also an Insurgent. Poor dear. ------------------ Fleet Cmdr. Carlton, check the Orion Fleet Database as well as the notes in your profile.

... Hello again boys and girls. Tis time to stand up and be counted. It's too quiet around here for my liking, and I'd prefer to have my policy makers on station and available more than they are so right now. Right now, I need the following people to sign in here and let me know their current assignment status reports. Greg Miller - Need to know whats going on with the rest of our people, as well as recruitment efforts. Darien Wolfe - Am awaiting updated intel documents so we can procede with our discussed plans. Carlton - Still waiting for your proposal for the Ground Operations Battlegroup (Deathbringer). Bosch - Where the hell are you? David Foss - Remember that logo that needed finishing? I want it. James Hamblin - Initial GEW documentation looks sound. Flesh it out some more, and resubmit it to myself and Greg Miller before we sign off on it. Nice work. Akuma Minako - We still on for friday? ------------------ Fleet Cmdr. Well, it's crunch time. Where I live, theres no fuel anywhere for anyone except the emergency services. I would have been ok until the weekend, but my car decided to die last night on my way home from work, and with no petrol for my other car, Im stranded. Whats worse, according to my information, Im not likely to get any petrol for either of my cars (Working or not) for at least another week. So, Im a little tetchy just now. In principle, I agree with the protests. I work with a lot of americans on a USAF base and a long running joke is our excessive fuel prices. It's not so funny for them now since their subsidsed fuel has run out. End of the day, this kind of protest wont work in the direct manner that the protestors want. It never could. If any government was to give in to this kind of mentality, it would open up the flood gates for everyone with a grievence to hold the country to ransome. Fortunately, the Unions of the mid - late 70's are no longer in existance, so repeats of the winter of discontent (For those UK commanders old enough to remember) are unlikely. However, this protest is just the tip of a potentially huge iceberg that could very well plummet us back into those 70's dark ages. Where will this all end? Who know right now. The governments in trouble, this much is for sure. But I expect them to make some grand gesture the closer we get to polling time and try and wipe away this nightmare from the publics mind. Hell, I didnt vote for them. ------------------ Fleet Cmdr. Karl Savage GCV - Tsunami, Orion Starstation (CENTRIS) Fleet Leader, ORION FLEET www.orion-hq.fsnet.co.uk 'Here cometh the storm!'

I dont actually think there is any fixed date, but events in recent threads seem to revolve around the opening days/weeks of the second Gamm war, which makes it mid March 3008 (In Gallions epic) and approx May/June in Joy Ride. ------------------ Fleet Cmdr. Every wing has a motto. Every commander in that wing has a duty to use it in their sig. This might not be full Galcom policy, but it is Orion policy without exception. Expect quotes for the DBG and GEW tomoz. ------------------ Fleet Cmdr. Yip, do like that. One minor niggle tho ... your link to Orion site is outdated. You used the old website, and not the current one. FYI new address is www.orion-hq.fsnet.co.uk Lookin good you old pirate. ------------------ Fleet Cmdr. Right, I gave you Wing Commanders two days to come up with somthing, and Im sitting here looking at a forum with no further Battle Group mottos. This is not acceptable. Now I have to put somthing of my own devising in place, and when thats done, you stuck with it regardless. I dont want to hear any excuses or bitching with what I come up with. Once it's set, it's set. And if some of you dont start pulling your weight around here, Im gonna start considering firing some of you ladies. ------------------ Fleet Cmdr. Any more input from you lot? I dont wanna lose momentum here, so if you have any final comments/suggestions please post them.I'll review it again later this evening, and considering this is resolved in a way where we are all happy bunnies (No pun intended) we'll kick off on the weekend. Hop to it gents (Pun intended) ------------------ Fleet Cmdr. Karl Savage GCV - Tsunami, Orion Starstation (CENTRIS) Fleet Leader, ORION FLEET www.orion-hq.fsnet.co.uk 'Here cometh the storm!'

Gents, I asked nicely for wing mottos. Foss, I expect to see one here within 48 hours of this post, or I'll write one myself and you get stuck with it. Same applies for you, James. I want a sensible, group motto from you, not a personal one. 48 hours gents ... ------------------ Fleet Cmdr. Hmm. Must be a friend of Hamblins.

Right. Firstly, my definition of a freeform scenario is literally that. Everyone can picth in, do what they like, add subplots, twists, turns etc and make for a truelly global playing field. Thats fine up to a point. The reasons I want this to be moderated in a fassion is simple : It's a very complicated story which cannot offored to be taken in every direction that may seem interesting at the time. Without any guidelines the plot could easily become fragmented, and lose it's appeal. Fair enough, if it was your average RP story, I wouldnt have any objections to letting it just run, but this isnt your average story. However, if those that are going to participate want this to run completely freeform, so be it. Personally, I believe the way I've currently got it sorted in my head suits a controlled scenario better, but Im going to go with majority rule here. I dont want it to seem as if Im taking over this project, im not. I just want to realise the huge potential there is here, and tell a story that can really unite all the different player factions in a way that has never, nor could ever, have been done before. Anyway, I'll let you lot decide this for yourselves. I'll just sit back until everyone has said their bit, then get this show on the road, one way or another. ------------------ Fleet Cmdr. In line with the Supreme Commanders wishes, all commanders within the Orion Fleet may use their Battle Groups motto at the end of their sig. The Tsunami Battle Groups motto is at the end of my sig, and it's up to the wing leaders of the other groups to come up with their own. Do so quickly. ------------------ Fleet Cmdr. Dont feel bad, James. It's early days yet and there is still a distinct lack of new blood around to be enticed. And since those Insurgent vultures are leaping on every newbie that pokes his head in here, dont be surprised if you dont get any for a while. ------------------ Fleet Cmdr. As per the SC's instructions, all commanders are hereby ordered to alter their forum signatures to the standard below. Post here to test them. ------------------ Fleet Cmdr. Karl Savage GCV - Tsunami, Orion Starstation (CENTRIS) Fleet Leader, ORION FLEET www.orion-hq.fsnet.co.uk This is how my sig as a Fleet Commander looks. A Battle Group Commander (Such as Foss) would have a sig looking like this. Commander David Foss GCV - Deterrence, Orion Starstation (CENTRIS) Wing Leader, Deterrence Battle Group www.orion-hq.fsnet.co.uk An ordinary Orion commanders sig would look like this. Commander Akuma Minako GCV - Tenchi, Orion Starstation (CENTRIS) Deterrence Battle Group www.orion-hq.fsnet.co.uk See that the changes are made A.S.A.P [This message has been edited by Blades (edited 09-01-2000).]
