Seen it before, and still think it's excellent. Well, Im kinda thinking that the best sort of mid counrty local would be around Coventry/Birmingham (Although I would avoid it as I know lots of people there who I dont really need an excuse to maim beyond recognition) and perhaps even Wolverhampton. So far, the interested parties seem to be from far and wide, so a middle England sort of local would suit everyone pretty much. Im thinking a sat night at a Posthouse on the M6 (Or there abouts) somwhere around first weekend in July. Anyway, more interest please.

Well, I've been talkin with a few commanders for a while now about the possability of organising a commanders meet up here in the UK some time over the next couple of months. I've done net related meet ups before (I've met enough of my X's this way) so Im pretty confident about gettin it sorted. So anyhoo, if anyone is interested in organising a place and a time, this is where we should discuss it. I'm thinking a big piss up, good conversation and a chance to get to know your friends and enemies prior to all hell breaking loose once our baby is released. Commander Darrien Wolfe Fleet Intelligence Officer Commander, Rockwell Starbase Commander David Foss Commanding Officer, Deterrence Battle Group Commander, Vanguard Starbase Commander Carlton Ground Operations Officer Commanding Officer, Deathbringer Battle Group Commander, Hereford Starbase Commander James Hamblin Commanding Officer, Galatea Exploration Wing The above are the most vital command positions currently filled within the fleet. Several others exist, but are currently vacant. Candidates are currently under review, but the process takes its time because I want to place people with the right skills and attitude to them. You dont just get assigned because you are active. You dont get assigned because you are eager. Everyone who has been placed thus far has had to earn the position and respect of their fellows. We dont just randomly place people in this fleet, we work out who is right for the position before placing them. Hopefully, I've chosen well here. As such, there will be no alterations to the current set up and placement. Additions may be made in the future. Special ops personel are called to active duty by the Fleet Intelligence Officer when an operation that requires a low profile is sanctioned by the Fleet Commander only. Those recruited into Special Ops are done so on an assignment basis only. Whatever group affiliation you presently have, you may be drafted in from time to time to undertake these ops. Very few commanders will ever be assigned to Special Ops on a full time basis, and nobody in the fleet currently warrants that. Those commanders that get assignment to the Special Ops group will be privy to classified info, including a detailed code system to help keep our business clandestine. More often than not, Fleet Commander Savage could be found in the Galcom Lounge on board the huge Orion Starstation. As usual, he could be found occupying a side table, sitting by himself reading through dull logistics reports from his eager Logistics Officer. However, this particular evening he wasnt draining a glass of whisky while thumbing the advance button on his datapad. Instead, he was eyeing up the newly promoted female Commander that had just joined his fleet. For the last few minutes, he'd watched her approach the robotic bartender, quietly request a drink of some sort (He couldnt be sure which, since his eyesight had started fading and was extreemly reluctant to listen to his doctor and have corrective surgery - Apparantly thats what happens when you get older) before breaking into conversation with his Logistics Officer. Mildly miffed that Cmdr Bosch was having a conversation with the beautiful Oriental woman instead of him, he reminded himself to have Greg forward the monthly requisitions meeting to the next morning, which would in all probability have the officer scurrying back to his office at Rockwell to prepare for it. Quickly, he made the call to Greg, asked to have the message relayed in about five minutes, then sat back and felt incredibly smug. Grinning evily to himself, and wondered what excuse he could come up with to meet her. You dont need an excuse, dumbass! said the irritating voice of common sense inside his head. Hugo, if you check the Official Fleet Info on this site, you will note that ORION is the HEAVY STRIKE fleet in GalCom. As such, nobody in their right mind (Not even the Insurgents) would describe my people as Cleaning Women. I've worked very hard to put this Fleet together with the left overs from the previous administration, and I think I've done a very good job thanks to the assistance of a few key commanders that frequent this board. Without people like them, I wouldnt be confident in ORIONS success when BC:M gets here. I am very confident about it. The point of this thread wasnt to start bitching at each others fleets. I wanted to explore the previous 'Good humored' rivalries that existed, not start new ones. But hey, even though we are all on the same side, Im pretty sure that a 'Wargames' option could be put into place on any of the Fleet servers. We can see who's a 'Cleaning Lady' and who's gonna get a boot up there ass.
