  6. quote:Originally posted by Litvyak: quote:this was the only robotech game i can remember being created.I can recall about a dozen Robotech/Macross games... they've ranged from arcade side scrollers to strategy console games to 3D action games. I've played most of the ones I know about except the Macross Digital Missions games for Playstation and this latest one. Ther we quite of few... but none of em ever made to the US... except the side scrolling one i think. PC-Engine had one, PS1 had a few of em, they made one for the Dreamcast, and many other systems. But they where all horrible. Gameplay had serious issues, and so forth. Only reason to have it is becasue the novelty of it.
  7. quote:Originally posted by Dredd: Well, since I don't think I need to care about the NDA anymore.... It was bad, even the retail part of the beta. That review hit it right on, but I just would have given it a lower score. One thing that it fails to mention though is the huge emphasis on levelling that arrogant people had, and probably still have (as in most massive multiplayer games). They are high level, they are powerful, and they get that way from wasting their time constantly hitting the "warp" or "fire" buttons. It's boring, it's repetitive, and you don't want to play it for more than 10 hours total, if that.i agree... this game just plan out sucked. i beta'ed it about 2 days and quit. just annoying to play i think. nothing new and innovative.
  8. people complain to much... first all, this is the first decent robotech game ever. all others have been extreme failures. second of all, with the licensing attacks Harmony Gold does, its a wonder that it got that far. granted some the things people complain about, from a game play perspective, i understand. overall, i think it is a great game. but my biggest complaint is on those &^*((*&^%% escort mission. im am sick of em. robotech games can only get bigger better from here if this is sucessful... so please, give them some credit. thanks TDK.
  9. petrol.... what a odd sound it has...
  10. I need to get mine removed... im currently working a two sites right now: one for myslef, and another that is for BC stuff (gonna get a new domain too). But money is the issues, so, i got one 1/2 done, and the other about 1/4 done.
  11. quote:Originally posted by $iLk: I disabled DHCP or whatever. Do I need to give myself a static internal IP>?Yes! that would definatly be one problem... DHCP can be running, thats not a problem. You have to have a IP addy in your internal network so when you forward the port, it knows where to go? what router are you using?
  12. quote:Originally posted by $iLk: Okay guys, I've set up my router, am connecting to the internet just fine. Problems: I can't host my FTP server. I've forwarded Port 21 to the IP address I was assigned by the router, rebooted and tried connecting to my FTP. Didn't work. I'm assuming something is wrong because I can't host like I normally could through a static IP...will you be online at all Thursday night? we chat through something, i need to get some information from you so i know exactly what your doing... what OS are you using? second, when you try your ftp, you using this "ftp://[your internal ip addy]"? I need to know more info. Just tell me when your avail and we'll chat.
  13. quote:Originally posted by $iLk: With Client port can I specify a range for both computers? Or will I have to give separate ports to each. What about Ports 80 and 25, they should share okay anyway, how is that done?Through the routing software? You can forward more than one port to a computer..
  14. Seems like space shows are trendy now... that and space sims that are mmogs...
  15. quote:Originally posted by $iLk: Heres where you can really help me EP5. I don't have any software set up. What should I purchase/download for serving my own webpages? And any links you can point me to on how to set these things up? I know how to set up ftp sites, but I have never set up a http site. What will I need to do this? I'll be home late tonight so if you are online I will try and get you to walk me through some setup. Thanks Well, if you can afford it, Win2k Advanced Server (which is what i use, but getting WinXP Pro Server soon). It comes with (MS) IIS, which does all that for you. Through IIS, i can setup web page, and ftp sites, not to mention my SMTP servers for mail and so forth. And when you do figure the basic things out, you can install Perl so you can do CGI scripts like SC's UBB. Using IIS, you can do multiple sites, a hella lot more. Next on my list of things to learn is PHP.
  16. quote:Originally posted by $iLk: Okay, I'm getting my ISP to set me up a Static IP Address. I have a couple things I'm wanting to do, but since it's been over a year since I've dealt with a Networking Class, I'm going to ask a couple of questions for those knowledgable about this. 1.) I have a domain name that is currently hosted by a domain company (like network solutions). I want to host the webpage from my computer instead, what will I need to do? 2.) I am going to network my wife's computer with mine as well... for this I am going to need to purchase a router. If I purchase a router, I'm assuming I will have to configure it with IP addresses and such right? Will it be difficult to host a LAN over a router for playing games? What is the best router I can find that is reasonably priced, or does it matter? What else can anyone think of that I will need to know? Thanks in advance. No problem... *As far as which one to go, many out there... Linksys Cable/DSL Routers may be the best choice. *Next, hosting games or a web server IS NOT A PROBLEM! You have to forward ports to the appropriate machine(if its a game your hosting over the internet). For hosting local LAN games, nothing special is needed... just do it like normal. This is all setup through the router (if it is a Linksys, default interal IP is 192.168.1.1 for the control panel)... For hosting a web server, you will have to forward Port 80 to the machine, thats use for HTTP... *If you do go though with this, best thing to do is to setup internal "static" IPs on your network, which will save you a few problems... I can talk you through every step if you like. *I currently have 5 machines on my network sharing my cable through a Linksys Cable/DSL router... 3 machines for normal uses... My server has Win2k Advanced Server, which ports 80 (http), 21 (ftp protocol) and a few more forward to it. My main gaming box has ports 14705 (Half-life), and many main ones for games forward to it. Even though i have Dynamic IP on my broadband, i use DNS2go routing software which keeps tabs on my WAN ip addy updates my domain. So, i host game, web pages, a few FTP sites and more over mine w/o any hitches or problems. [ 09-17-2002, 07:31 PM: Message edited by: Kenada ]

I usually don't resort to such simple and innane comments as stupid, but it IS. Why would you outlaw a type of entertainment and then ban tourists from using it? Who the **** is going to gamble on a game of counter-strike or BCM? If the police are too stupid to know what gambling games are, they need to spend the money used enforcing this ****ing stupid law on training their ****head cops. Morons.hey, you'd be amazed... i gamble at LAN parties... not to mention get out right intoxicated.. nothing like trying to fly a battlecruiser under the influrance... crashing into big rocks (moons) all the time... [Roleplay] me: hey, bet you five bucks i can kick your #$@ in a game of Counterstrike or DragonMod Z... guy: your on! [End Roleplay] I have won good money doing that man... Haven't been successful with the lancaster yet But that's nothing compared to taking off with a c-47 (dc-3 skytrain) from the carrier. Anything bigger is impossible But I can't land any plane in either bf1942 or flashpoint. heh i can! i use my Wingman Rumble pad...

Tie Fighter, X-Com, all had to have a DOS bootdisk... always had to enale EMS memory and shell out lots of stacks. And i also remember it cost my dad for X-mas a whopping $94 for a 4-meg upgrade in RAM.. the good old days (im only turning 21 in Oct)
