Publishers are shite. And they're all going to end up on the wrong side of recievership at some point. Lest we forget that Atari is really those pricks Infogrames (they're French) who bought the name and assets. So, its not the old Atari that we knew. -

Brilliant. Just brilliant. Being a big W&G fan, I guess I'm biased, but this is great family fun. As soon as I came home, we watched Chicken Run again. 10/10

Yep, Al's still got it. I kinda liked this movie, but there was something not quite right about it. Dunno what. It somewhat reminded me of Devil's Advocate. And that was a bad thing I think. 8/10

Well, the answer SHOULD be obvious. WIN98 uses far less resources than WinXP. So, that leaves more resources for the game.

You're right that its not tech support related. Had you put this thread there, it would have been deleted and you WOULD have been banned for obvious reasons. One of which is, you are not supposed to be running ANY third party apps when running the game. Its bad enough that it is already a resource hog. Some of you silly gits never cease to amaze me.

Yeah, me too. So, when someone goes to see it, do create a thread and leave this one for HOV. Thanks.

Considering that I think David Cronenberg is one sick whacko, I should've expected a movie like this. I don't think I've ever seen such graphic violence committed to a film of this type. Its, well, graphic. The film was very good though; just the violence (as the title suggests) is, well, violent. No wonder Scriv likes it. 10/10

Is it in the manual? There's your answer.

UCG will start shipping out of BMT Micro early next week. You can order it directly from the main sales page. The e-commerce download versions from DigitalRiver (RegNow), IGN Direct2Drive etc, will be online at some point this month. I have no control over those schedules. Also, note that if you don't already own a copy of UC, you can order the printed UCAWA manual from BMT Micro. Very few sections are unique to UCAWA. The original UC manual is also on the UCG disk in PDF format.

This patch was refreshed today. If you previously downloaded it, follow these instructions to re-download and apply it. For more info, read this thread which sparked the original investigation. Open the SETTINGS.INI file (located in the game folder) in Notepad. Where you see the 1.00.07, change it to 1.00.06 Save the file and exit Notepad Run the Updater using the shortcut or by double-clicking on the Updater.exe file located in the game folder. Updater will then grab the v1.00.07 patch refresh and re-apply it on top of the previous version. [ 10-09-2005, 09:42 AM: Message edited by: Supreme Cmdr ]

Performance drop after 1.00.04 patch
Supreme Cmdr replied to nasos073's topic in Battlecruiser / Universal Combat (Legacy)
OK, I was right. I didn't make *any* changes to the code. All I did was connect to the Starforce server and re-protect the UCAWA.EXE and UCAWAMP.EXE files using their latest SDK version. Anyway, I have now pushed this revised 1.00.07 to the auto-patch server. You (and anyone who wants this version) need to do the following: Open the SETTINGS.INI file (located in the game folder) in Notepad. -

Look in the Tacops section of the manual on how to determine where to land. Heck, its even in the tutorial. Basically, pick a spot that is daylight on Tacops and go from there.

Performance drop after 1.00.04 patch

Please try not to clog the thread. I didn't need to know that. All you had to do was post the results once you'd downloaded it. -
...dunno why you guys do things the hard way. I wanna mug a ship, I just ALT+E, fly over to and stand on top of my CC. Then yell out ...gimme all your shit or else!!. Works every time. Every time they're not lobbing missiles at me that is.

Performance drop after 1.00.04 patch
Supreme Cmdr replied to nasos073's topic in Battlecruiser / Universal Combat (Legacy)
Well I'm totally stumped. Lets try something. I just noticed that Starforce updated their protection servers on 09-30. Not sure if their new updates could be the cause. Download this 13MB file and extract into your game folder overwriting existing files. Run the tests again and get back to me. -
Performance drop after 1.00.04 patch
Supreme Cmdr replied to nasos073's topic in Battlecruiser / Universal Combat (Legacy)
When I run public tests, of course they are from the protected version. Also, I'm not sure how you are able to determine the CPU usage of the game, when in fact it runs in fullscreen and will not give you access to task manager. Running in fullscreen, the game will take as much as the CPU as possible. In my test above, I was running it in a window. You are beginning to bounce all of the place with this and I'm this close to giving up. First you started talking about in game frame rates. Now, instead of continuing with those tests, you're bugging me about - inconsequential - main menu fps which bear NO relevance to the in game processing that you previously reported. ....and now we're back with talking about sound cards. Which you already stated has not changed since 1.00.04. I simply don't have the time for this. So, unless you're going to be consistent and clear, I'm going to just bypass this and leave you to sort it out on your end. -
Performance drop after 1.00.04 patch

Well, I thought you said that the performance in 1.00.04 was better? From what you posted above, that does not seem to be the case. -

Got it. So you have Alchohol 120% installed huh? Anyway, also use the Starforce driver removal tools on the Starforce site. Then run the game again; it will then re-install the drivers.
