Stargate SG-1: The Alliance
Supreme Cmdr replied to Captain McMahon's topic in PC Gaming & Technology
Does it use the Unreal Engine? If not, the Unreal editor won't do any good. btw, Jowood is suing the developers as well. Looks like they simply couldn't get past Beta for some odd reason. -

Stargate SG-1: The Alliance

I wasn't terribly impressed by the shots released thus far, to be honest because there didn't seem to be any gameplay. Just scenery stills. And for a supposedly triple-A game releasing in October and no demo yet, thats not good. Besides, Jowood is - like most European companies - having serious financial troubles. So this move comes as no surprise if they were looking at posting a loss on that title. [ 08-06-2005, 07:04 AM: Message edited by: Supreme Cmdr ] -

If he is, the he's crazier than I am. As if I haven't spent enough money on servers - for a $19.99 game - already since the game was first released. On Monday, the UC servers are going offline. When UCG is released in Sept. there will be only one server for it.

Does ANYONE have ANY idea wtf he's going on about? I sure as hell don't. My first impulse was to delete the post; but I decided to go have another coffee instead.

Universal Combat : A World Apart - NOW ON SALE!!
Supreme Cmdr replied to Supreme Cmdr's topic in News
OK, for you anal types, I have just given an order to the Canadian company that did the manuals for BCMG and UC, to do manuals (in the same format) for UCAWA. In fact, the sales guy there used for work for Dreamcatcher and was one of those laid off when Brian Gladman (my producer there) was also laid off. Those manuals aren't cheap, but I'm not doing this to make money, I'm just printing them so that those who want a printed manual (since there have been a LOT of revisions to the original UC manual) can have the option of either purchasing a printed manual or giving more money to Kinkos or to the vendor of their printer (cartridges aren't cheap). I expect that each manual will sell for less than $10 and will include the 3ply keyboard sheet and map on reverse side. btw, does anyone remember those huge wall poster sized galaxy maps we did back when BCM was released? If there is any interest for those (to the newbs around here), I can have those done as well and offer them for sale. -

The activation would have been deactivated by then. I intend to deactivate it when the game reaches its EOL. I mean, I release my games for free after a few years of release, don't I? -
Stupid jackasses. Now I have to add a 10th planet to my game.

Universal Combat : A World Apart - NOW ON SALE!!
Supreme Cmdr replied to Supreme Cmdr's topic in News
Just an FYI, I've been advised that production won't start until tomorrow. So no orders are going to ship out until Mon/Tue of next week from BMT Micro. TryMedia says their site will be ready by the end of next week. The other sites e.g. www.boonty.com and the portals which use www.streamtheory.com, www.digitalriver.com etc will also be online within the next 7-10 days I'm told. -
You can get a free copy regardless of where you live. If you have questions PLEASE send them to BMT Micro. Thats why there is a contact email address. btw, that free BCM is the actual retail version, printed manual etc etc. Also its got all the content of the original release. The freeware version does not because I wanted to reduce the size.

This will be done only once; unless you uninstall the game.Hopefully this isn't a stupid question. Does this mean if I don't have an internet connection at home I am S.O.L., even if I order from BTMicro and get the CD version, or can the CD-Key be validated on a computer other than the one being played on? You can auth the game from any computer. -

New laptop aye? It has better be a good one or you won't be seeing any of this. -
If you thought that you saw all there was to see in the UCAWA demos, well, thats not true. We have today released a bunch of shots from the final version, showing off content that was never before in the demo. All shots are available at the URL below. http://www.3000ad.com/shots/ucawa.shtml

UCAWA is ready to ship. Some of the e-commerce partners (e.g. TryGames) are not yet online but will be later this week. However, our primary distributor BMT Micro now have their orders page up. The links are on the main sales page. Orders placed for UCAWA today, will start shipping tomorrow or Friday. So if you want it for the weekend, put a rush on the shipping. Note that we are only taking pre-orders for UCG. It is not scheduled to ship until first week of September. Our official multiplayer servers for UCAWA won't be up until next week due to them being upgraded as they will no longer be running UC games as of Monday August 8th.
