As excited I was to order it, I haven't even played it since I got it. But I did install it though!

The Russian UC version is either 2.00.30 RC12 or RC14. I sent them RC12 as the official GM, then I later sent them an RC14 update (just new EXE files). The English patches are not compatible with ANY other version and we will not be releasing region specific patches. If you apply the English patch to the Russian version, all the scenario text and some of the localized menus will be overwritten. To get around that, you'd have to probably try something like this: Backup *.zip (four files) in the DATA folder Backup LANGUAGE.LNG file Apply the English patch (e.g. RC17) Copy the backed up [Russian] files back Anyway, I'm sure Akella will probably be releasing their own Russian patches after I give them instructions on how to do it.

hehe, it is common practice for the name of games to be changed in some territories. Anyway, they licensed UC directly from Dreamcatcher and you'd think they'd tell me. I see now why there is no mention of it in the English section of their website. Akella have the rights (they recently got it from us directly) to UCAWA and it will be released over there later this year. Anyway, Akella - so far - are OK to work with; so this is not a big deal to me. btw, do you have a direct link to the page? I'd like to see what the box shot looks like.

Check the reg page. The online VCF has also been updated. You have to positively read the VCF before applying this patch. You HAVE been warned. For those of you new to UC. You need to install the v2.00.00 patch first, before installing this patch on top of it. !!!!!!!!!!!!!WARNING!!!!!!!!!!!!! Due to users going from the base 2.00.00 patch to the current 2.00.xx patch; this patch WILL delete ALL saved games. So, if you are upgrading from 2.00.19 or higher, backup the files in the SAVE folder before applying the patch. After applying the patch, copy them back to the SAVE folder. If you attempt to do this with any saved game version earlier than the specified version, good luck bud. If you run an mp server, you should also backup your UCSETUPMP.INI file and restore it after patching. The same applies to your UCCONFIG.INI file. The patch deletes it as well. This patch contains a DirectX 9.0c runtime update (they're not calling it 9.0d for some reason) which Microsoft has released. Since some folks are not reading the VCF, let me point out that you MUST install this update by running the DXSETUP.EXE file located in the new DIRECTX folder where the game is installed. This was included as of the 2.00.30RC15 patch. So if you already did this, you don't need to do it again.

I don't know why you found it necessary to create a thread about a demo, in the general game discussions forum. You're lucky that I was in a good mood and just moved it here rather than just deleting it. Anyway, my only comment about your post is that only a fool would - by now - still not get the message that my games are not designed for casual players who by and large, generally have the attention span of a gnat on acid. I never have - and never will - mess with what has worked in the past. Everything is fine just as it is and I intend to keep the brand easily recognisable and playable to those who have invested the better part of their gaming lives playing it. Who gives a toss about anyone else? I sure as hell don't. I design and develop games for a specific audience. You are - obviously - not one of them. What you're still doing here - 80+ posts later - is what I want to know.
