  2. This has been released! I'm so there!!

Why don't you go an talk to - or at least read posts - from those who are currently playing the released Russian version. As I understand it, all plans to do an English version have been abandoned. I wonder why. quote: Originally posted by Asso: quote:Originally posted by Supreme Cmdr: Being able to destroy levels is a tremendous CPU hog and doesn't add anything to a game IMO. I think it could be a good feature, e.g. you can't unlock a door, then you blow it up or destroy a wall to open a passage, just like in NetHack or X-Com, it could open up some strategic possibilities. Maybe in a near future it could be feasible (resources wise), it'd spice up battles... Do you imagine defending your command bridge from an assault, preparing an ambush behind the door just to find out later that enemies are coming from a hole in the wall behind you? (I was typing "from a hole behind you" when I realised what I was saying... hehe!) Read this [ 06-29-2005, 10:01 AM: Message edited by: Supreme Cmdr ]

  8. I hope it does. Should teach those bastards in suits a lesson. Anyway, you read the CNN Money article
  9. hehe, yeah!! Whats up with that?
  10. Wot?!? Where'd you see that?
  11. Steve, since you started this misinformation, I think you need to run tests and figure out exactly which settings yield what results. No half-baked job please. So, get on with it. You will be graded later.
  12. I don't see why they would make the interior destroyable, since they are probably just BSP levels. Being able to destroy levels is a tremendous CPU hog and doesn't add anything to a game IMO. I don't see why they would self-destruct a ship when you can just have it captured. I guess they don't want the player being able to switch to a captured ship. Who knows. When you embark on huge games like this, you have to cover all your bases. And sometimes a lot of things just don't pan out. Anyway, the game is supposed to be a total shambles.
  13. hehe, oh man, if I had written this, I'd have worked wonders with the English language.
  14. Some people have far too much time on their hands
  15. I guess even the R rated zombie luving geeks went out to see Batman and Bewitched instead of - yet another - zombie movie. This one looks like its going to die a quick and sudden death.
  16. Yeah, and by the time it goes to DVD, woohoo!!! I bet part 2 goes into production before the end of the year. Guaranteed. Damn, I loved this movie. Seen it FOUR times already. If I have to see it one more time, I'm going to camp out at the theatre.
  17. quote: Originally posted by Remo Williams: quote:No offense, but I've been playing UCMP since Feb 2004, so I'm ain't freakin' stupid Heh, wrong again. LMAO!! quote: Originally posted by Shingen: Just for the record here... A dynamic universe, is what I percieve as your idea of what a persistent universe is. A persistent universe, to me at least, is a game that remains for a very long time. That the player can keep going back to, playing, and building and sustaining. This, to me, is persistence. It may not be the classical gaming definition, but there ya go. heh, you just keep shooting yourself in the head. By every definition (even yours above), every single BC game is dynamic and persistent. Always have been.
  18. I guess I won't be seeing it then. Oh well. And fer crying out loud Scriv, don't you have a different song to sing about censoring movies? I mean, seriously, ALL movies get censored and it should be expected. So please stop clamouring about this [dead] issue in practically every review you write. Use those words for another more interesting purpose.
  19. ...well anyone who has actually played the demo, would have seen the ROAM option right there on the main menu, though disabled. Thats why I asked him if he had actually run the demo.
  20. quote: Originally posted by Steve Schacher: but with the sound card acceleration turned off I get 100 FPS. ...and where did you turn this acceleration off? Why off? Did you try different settings?
  21. quote: Originally posted by Steve Schacher: Creative released an Audigy driver update in May 2005 that I think fixes this problem. What did they actually fix? Because I just checked and see no such notes in the driver details. And how do you know its fixed? [ 06-26-2005, 10:59 AM: Message edited by: Supreme Cmdr ]

Just working hard as usual. quote: Originally posted by Seedog: SC had it right when he said Batman wasn't a super-hero, just an every day guy with a will to do what must be done, and a little extra training. Kinda makes you appreciate the police a little more and wish they had those kinda toys and training. Did you see that part where he first started moving across rooftops and he was kinda clunky at it? He was hitting and bouncing against the wall, fire escape etc. I thought that was well done and a nice touch because it showed that he was just an ordinary guy.
  23. Well, its live. You brave souls can check it out and get back to us. Go on; take one for the team.
  24. Did you play the demo?
