  5. Don't confuse respect for love.
  6. For one thing, they are no longer doing any updates to UBB. They've moved to another product.
  7. quote: Originally posted by Spindoktor: BTW, those Dreamcatcher forums are some of the worst I have seen. You think?
  8. A CGO interview with one of the larger companies (Massive) pushing in-game ads. No matter one's position on this [controversial] issue, it is still a pretty good read. [ 05-10-2005, 02:23 PM: Message edited by: Supreme Cmdr ]
  9. ..and back to Capitol Hill we go.
  10. aha!! So much for that! Damn FCC
  11. You can catch it here. Its kinda blah, but I'm sure they'll be releasing another on before long.
  12. quote: Originally posted by Cc: Oh....looks like Chloe is in love with Jack. Hmmm. uhm. Yeah, right.
  13. ...and as suspected, they apparently released an unfinished product.. Again. Oh, and the forums are haywire. Par for the course.
  14. quote: Originally posted by Cc: But it seems like no matter what ship I use (normally cuisers or super cruisers),they out run me. What's the deal? Have you tried exiting the ship in fp mode and pushing?
  15. Another day, another XBox360 leak All I know is, I'm there on day one!
  16. So, how do you folks feel about ads in games, if they fit the game world, are non-intrusive etc? For example, say you saw a transport ship in our game and it was bearing the UPS or FEDEX logo on the side, how would you react? Note also that for years, sports games (e.g. racing, golf etc) have featured logos from real-world companies (e.g. Coca Cola, Penzoil etc) and with nary a peep from gamers. With in-game ads poised to generate revenues on par with [some] TV ads, it could be the much needed residual income that publishers and devs (indies) are seeking. Remember that Hollywood have various outlets for generating extra income for their movies after the theatrical release. e.g. DVD, broadcast network, rentals etc etc. Games need that too; especially with the constantly increasing costs of game development in which only the self-funded and well established indies (like us at 3000AD Inc) can actually fund their own games.
  17. So, how many of you are still playing SWG? I just came across details of the latest furor.
  18. Check your browser settings, cache, firewall etc
  19. The patch is missing an updated ENGLISH.LNG file. You can download this file from the registration page and just overwrite the existing version in the game folder. The symptoms of this are things like localized variables in Logistix/Power, Commlink etc.
  20. Didn't you read the post in which I said that the DNS was still propagating? So obviously if its connecting from in the game server browser, but not the shortcut....aw screw this, I'm not typing up that crap again. If you actually look in the registration page, you would have seen the new IPs.
  21. Just a quick FYI. There are some [legal] issues going on with Dreamcatcher atm, thats why you have not seen a Gold announcement from them. I won't go into details at this time; but expect something (by way of a press release) from me in a few days. However, problems on their end don't affect our (3000AD Inc) release of the game. I have just been waiting so that our release coincides with theirs; though I am not contractually required to wait for them to release their boxed retail versions. As far as we are concerned; the BMT Micro and Trymedia sites are ready to roll and just awaiting the word from me. Other sites (e.g. IGN's Direct2Drive) have also expressed an interest; and if that works out, the games will be available there as well. The UC to UCAWA add-on is 335MB. The UCAWA full version (which we also have download rights to) is 635MB. I am undecided as to whether to release this version as well or not. Until I decide, we will only be making the add-on version available. Which means that if you wanted the full version, you have to wait for the Dreamcatcher boxed retail release. Nevetheless, UCAWA will be available (at least from us) in May, as previously scheduled. We also have a couple of new projects to announce this week. Two of which are shipping in 2005, one in 2006 and another in 2007. [ 05-08-2005, 10:49 AM: Message edited by: Supreme Cmdr ]
