  1. I have logged that cloak issue and opened an investigation for the testers. Thats the first time I've seen that. As for abandoning you, heh, I'm the one who got creamed by that Wolpax station!! I have to figure out a way to disable station target acquisition for a few mins when jumping to them, because unless you're cloaked (and cruises don't have a cloaking system), its just suicide.
  2. quote: Originally posted by Shingen: OK something went foul on my end then, cause I can't save, or resume. The quit and save option is blacked-out and resume goes to the new game menu. You must have downloaded the patch BEFORE reading the EDIT section of my first post. Download the patch again and re-apply it on top of itself. Besides, its just the menu thats disabled, ALT+G works just the same, as it does the same thing as that menu. Note, resume will only go to the new game screen if a current resume game is not present or if the saved game is invalid. In your case, since the patch deleted all saves, there is no save for the resume to restore.
  3. I have made several new moderator appointments. Usually fleet leaders are moderators in their own forums now. Members with admin access (higher than moderators) are no longer listed as moderators (since its pointless). Moderators have Strategic Commander in their UBB rank designation. So, you'll know them when you see them. e.g. Shingen is now the sole moderator of the RPG forum.

  5. LOL!! But seriously, did anyone even think that I'd delete a long term members profile? Especially Remo? Man, you guys are gaullible. Though I was going to use Dennymala as an example.

You may need an SVG viewer to see the jump lanes, and you can download it from the link in the first post on this page. ...and since Opera does not support ActiveX, don't use it. quote: Originally posted by Mordax Blyrr: First of all, Zane, I really like the initiative you're bringing to the community and I am very eager to see it finished! Traitor!!! quote: Originally posted by Mordax Blyrr: Why not having Fleet Action use the MP world. 7. Yeah, I gathered that. Besides, I was just going to back it up and delete it. That would've freaked him out to no end. Then I'd just restore it. So much for the best laid plans. /me evil
  8. quote: Originally posted by Mrxknown: Sir, Marvin uses his own server to host that image. Then it must be Remo's then. quote: Originally posted by DennyMala: I feel relieved.... this means that I can put it in again..? ..... J/k Yeah, you can put in a link to the forum, as long as you don't link to an image which has to be displayed.
  9. quote: Originally posted by Zoltan89: You should have checked that since I think that that is impossible to get by taking normal damage. I shouldn't have to do ANYTHING - especially not with a game that has a QS signature. quote: Originally posted by Ditto00: I have a similar problem. If a system is damaged just barely, the components will be repaired, but the system will remail at 99%. I keep trying to repair, but to no avail. The system will always remain at 99% It works as designed because 99% is a valid value for units being repaired or replaced. If they ever get to be 100%, it will be gradual and eventual. quote: Tested all kinds of things, seems to have started about the 2.00.10 or 11 patchIts always been that way. And had you read the manual, you would have known that even 98% integrity is not enough to flag a component as being damaged.
  10. quote: Originally posted by DennyMala: Fixed. Apologies again, didn't understood it was creating problems too since is inactive until you click on it. It probably wasn't yours but Marvin's sig image.
  11. Done, you're frigging kidding me right? Doesn't that training academny link point to primefleet.com? Maybe your profile should be the first I delete.
  12. Its in the How do I join a fleet section of the FAQ that is already linked to from that page.
  13. OK, effective immediately, if anyone using a sig image residing on the primefleet server fails to remove it when the server is down, I will DELETE their profile. I am frigging sick and tired of warning about this. If you people can't find a reliable server, DON'T RUN ONE!!! Why is this damn server down almost every two weeks or so? Just to show how SERIOUS I am about this and to show my anger, at 12 noon EST, I am going to pick a random profile to delete, if it contains ANY links to the dead server. My first candidate is your profile Remo. So, God I hope you read this before noon. Remo, as fleet leader, you are 100% responsible for this and I'm goddamn sick and tired of this. When I browse this server on my PDA, I don't want my connection to time out waiting for images to download from a dead server. And it is NOT fair to dial-up users either.
  14. No worries. It was worth checking out anyway. Better to be safe than sorry. You're one my trusted testers, so that should come as no surprise.
  15. Thanks. Make sure you re-download the patch as well.
  16. The ONLY explanation for the patch not deleting an invalid saved game (as indicated in those messages) is if (a) the patch files are write protected ( they are not found - and the only reason they would not be found, is if the patch was NOT run from the game folder. There is NO other explanation as to why it would delete it on some people's machines and not on others. So, if anyone wants to investigate it, I'm more than willing to hear it.
  17. Last night was fairly uneventful, until some n00b named Kryton showed up. You gotta read the log (search for "kryton") to appreciate the hilarity of it all because if I explain it, that would ruin it. Imagine showing up at a fight with a spoon and zero experience. So, when the "Player Kryton (NONE) destroyed" message came, it was fall-down-on-the-ground laughing time. Later, I did my Kamikaze run on Wolpax. Needless to say, that marked the end of my hour long session on SERVER 4. *G* It was quite fun and it looks like the MP servers have become a glorified chat room. I was quite surprised to find Grizzle there; and checking the logs, SERVERS 3/4 has a total of 12 and 14 people on at one time or another last night and the day 2.00.11 was released. While looking around the newly revised regions, I took some pics. Enjoy! image00 image01 image02 image03 image04 image05 image06 image07 image08 image09 image10 image11 image12 image13 image14 image15 image16 image17 image18 image19 image20 image21
  18. No need to have more than one thread for this. Please move all discussions to this thread.
  19. quote: Originally posted by Grayfox: i reboot my machine and try MP again... only this time i get the UC splash screen (the black screen with the UC logo) it hangs for about a minute, then i get this error message: The MP executable does NOT display a splash screen. So I have no idea what you're talking about. It seems to me that you have installed and patched the game incorrectly. And to make things worse, you are probably NOT using the "Join MP Server" shortcut. And if you are getting the no servers found message, read the FAQ because your firewall or router could be blocking the required packets. quote: Originally posted by jamotto: How long do you wait when you are loading the game? It takes me 1-4 minutes before I can move when I load a MP game planetside. Then you must be on dial up because that time is used to send your client all information about the mp game world when you logon. On my DSL connection, is takes less than 20 secs.
  20. quote: Originally posted by LostInSpace: Remember to back up your save game files I always warn people to backup their saved games if the patch will delete them for any reason AND if the version is compatible. Look at the VCF and you will see these warnings. All patch files since 2.00.00 are compatible with 2.00.11, hence the reason that none of the 11 patches since then, deleted any saved games. This patch looks for a digitial signature indicating a saved game type (each saved game type has a unique signature) and will delete it if found. There is no room for error, because its four lines of code that checks for one signature or the other. I did this to alleviate ANY future issues which would be incorrectly attributed to Quick Save because once you've done it once, thats it. If you had in fact backed up your saved games, then moved them back after the patch - and you had used QS - you would continued to have unexplainable problems which I simply do NOT have time to be screwing around with. I enabled the QS feature in non-debug/cheat mode because some were complaining about having to quit the game in order to save. I had no idea that it would be misused (I mean, the games I have seen, some were using it during all kinds of circumstances e.g. after being hit by a missile!!!) and cause me aggravation. So, I have now disabled it again. If you value your game enough to want to save it, then you should be prepared to go the extra steps. Its not hard and only takes about 2-3 mins to be back in the game after a resume. HOWEVER, in a future patch, I will be revealing the commandline cheat option (similar to the /cheat in BCM Gold) and it enables the QS feature. So, if anyone wants to use it, they will have to explicitly enable it. quote: Originally posted by Patrik Vanda: My save games were not deleted but when I tried to restore them the game seemed to lock in the startup phase. Again it's not a serious problem as I enjoy restarting after each patch and experiencing all the changes the patch brings about. Given that, the ONLY reason they would not be deleted, is if you did NOT run the patch from the game folder as you are SUPPOSED to. So, the next time you even think of posting about a problem. Don't.
  21. quote: Originally posted by Zane Marlowe: I'm going to finish it and let people judge the finished product. ZM out. Sounds like a plan. But remember, if you make it too complex - and nobody uses it - all your efforts would have been for nought. Imagine having to go back and make a ton of revisions in order to make it playable.
  22. A measly $1.2m...when Bill Gates and his ilk are throwing money around (and at charities as well) like they had a license to print it. B*stards.
  23. $ilk, didn't I ask you to check your email and clear out your PMs?
