  4. I have started selling tickets to a special event, currently being dubbed The virtual hanging of Hellbinder. Reserve your seats now as seating is limited and already filling up. As soon as I set eyes on him, he's going up on a rope.
  5. OK, who else finds this a tad odd?
  6. quote: Originally posted by Whispers: I got patch from fileplanet on 1/4/04 and I checked the size was correct (8.25) ... This is not corrupted? I should leave it be as is? Did you see the part where I said some Fileplanet servers?

  8. It has come to my attention that some Fileplanet and the Avault servers are hosting corrupted patch files for this version. They have been notified. The other servers (e.g. 3D Gamers) have the correct patch. The patch size after download should be exactly 8,654,733 bytes which is 8.25MB as indicated on the patch downloads page.
  9. I was able to reproduce this on one machine. It seems to be a timing issue (depending on the speed of the machine). When the shuttle lands, its not firing the event which triggers the personnel deployment. I am moving this topic to the tech support forum. Should have a fix later this month. Until then, use the transporters for troop deployment.
  10. Anyone have any idea what he's talking about?
  11. The game requires a dedicated server. And if you are attempting to run both a client and server on the same machine, it has to be a powerful machine and one that is running either WIN2K or WINXP. This is all covered in the FAQ. If the client is disconnecting, it is because of scheduling due to the strain on the machine attempting to run both a client/server. You could try running the console server mode. But since that version is probably buggy (since it wasn't fully fleshed out), you might have other problems.
  12. Thats what you get when you buy any used item.
  13. ...and another
  14. Yet another leak
  15. This might be interesting to those of you who do not have access to MSDN.
  16. You can find the discussion over here. Well, expect to see only WIN2K and WINXP listed as supported OS for games coming out later in 2004 and beyond.
  17. Good article for those of you who have not yet done this and would like to.
  18. Ars Technica has their review up
  19. heh Now UBI is going to have to pay this git a fortune for the domain, so that they can remove the porn.

  23. Please read the FAQ for UC When the publisher decides to announce a Gold date, you will know about it.
  24. You can't manually switch. If you complete the ACM scenario, it will automatically revert to ROAM mode since there won't be any further ACM scenarios. *topic moved*
