Heh, this was particularly interesting Anyway, I'm glad they caught him alive. Killing him would have been the easy way out. When he goes to trial, public humiliation - and subsequently the death sentence (if tried in Iraq) - would be more of a fitting punishment than just feeding him a grenade. Next up, Osama

Oh man, that was funny on so many levels.
-
Oh man, that just sucks. Sorry to hear that. Good luck with the job hunt!

Here we go again. Frigging morons.

hehe, nice story

Now that MS has announced their lifecyles for 95/98/ME, it looks like my next game will only support XP/2K. Thank God.
-
Yep, I just woke to this news on CNN. Brllliant!!

I had the guys look into it and it works just fine. Pugwash should be posting his results later today. In fact, he notes that Splad was able to connect to his test server twice. Which means that the problem is on Splad's end.

If it was not operationaly, you would get a warning when you enter it. Navitron does not work in IA/TA because they use a different galaxy and not the default one. Make sure that you are only left-clicking on a starsystem, clicking anywhere else won't do anything. *topic moved*

No, cruisers cannot detect cloaked ships and without the TMCD (which cruisers can't use, even if they have it), there is no way to detect them. If you come across a cloaked cruiser, either run or employ combat tactics to defeat it.
-
Well I just tried it and it works just fine, with or without a password. So, if you guys get together with the *same* version and more than two people can reproduce it, then we'd have to open up a tech ticket to have it researched.
-
Glad you got it working. You are running the latest patches (one was released today), right?
-
Yes, you are crazy.

Welcome! If they don't see a target, they will RTB. They do not regard buildings as high threat targets. You should also set more than one waypoint, with the last one being Repeat Actions. i.e. set wp 1 and 2 as SAD (at different parts of the area), then wp3 as Repeat Actions. They will then repeatedly fly the pattern and hopefully will find something to attack. To have them RTB, just change the order of wp3 to RTB and when they hit wp3 again, they will RTB. Yes, it is AI related. Depending on the AI of the pilot, he/she will not use missiles unless absolutely necessary. If their target is far off and they can launch and want to launch, they will. A low AI pilot will usually waste his missiles. Also their range to target is vital to their use of missiles. e.g. if they are too close to the target, they won't launch because they have to adhere to the missile specifications (e.g. the minimum launch range). btw check the appendix for missile stats. It depends on your preference. If you search for fatigue in this forum, you should see several hits discussing this topic.

If you have screwed up the ini file, delete it then run bcserverconfig and let it create a new one. If there is no string in the password line, the server won't ask for one.

If you downloaded this patch prior to the time stamp of this post, you need to re-download it. In the last version, I forgot to update the build number. As such, it will still say 1.01.01 RC9 on the main menu instead of 1.01.01.

I have released the final 1.01.01 patch. I had clean forgotten about this actually and the last version on the server was RC7. The mirrors should have this patch available later today. The VCF has been updated.

It will only ask for a password if you have this set in the bcsetupmp.ini file

quote: Originally posted by mudpuppy: Yes, yes, yes! Thanks, guys, and especially Spindoktor. Not only does the gate have to be targeted, it has to be showing in the vid. Not sure why that is, although it may be explained in the manual and I just forgot. I'll read up on it tonight before I go to sleep. Thanks again! It has to be that way because if it was automatic, then while doing combat near a jump anomaly, you could jump unintentionally. So, by targeting it and making if visible in the CVD, you know that if you are within range, you're going to jump. It is explained in the manual

Damn that sucks. Tell you what, seeing you had to go through all this darn trouble, keep the last copy you got (assuming you still have it), then send me your mailing address to [email protected] and I'll have Lisa contact DC Europe and see about getting you a replacement CDROM FOC. I'm sure they have contacts down under and can make it happen.
