  1. hehe, don't worry about those gits. In fact, here is the thread in question. As you can see, there is a huge debate there about taking things out of context etc etc. QT3 is where all the media and industry types hang around, in case you were wondering. And they have zero tolerance threshold for retards. [ 10-23-2002, 07:39 PM: Message edited by: Supreme Cmdr ]
  2. No You can in BCG but not in BCM It depends. In the final patch before the BCM mp patch, you will be able to deploy them into space in order to engage a station's SFMs. Other than that, they're just marines. No. But you have the Support Units tab in Tacops and on the Fleet CC menu. This gives you quick access to all your units. BCG has all of the above and then some.

  4. hehe, did you guys read the Wendy Wilcox one (above) all the way to the end? Man, its so funny and brilliant, no wonder it ended up in Wired. They actually got those gits on camera. Priceless! Here are two more, here and here [ 10-23-2002, 12:05 PM: Message edited by: Supreme Cmdr ]
  5. quote: Originally posted by $iLk: I'm sorry, Carmack isn't coding it, but he is heading up the design. No. He's NOT doing that either. WHERE do you get this stuff from? Repeat after me, ok? JOHN CARMACK IS NOT A GAME DESIGNER OR PRODUCER. Get it? quote: And two quotes from Carmack: "Doom III will have spectacular rendering and art, and mediocre AI and multiplay" -p72 December PC Gamer; John Carmack Revolutionary AI is low on the priority list for Carmack "because monsters don't need it." -p74 December PC Gamer; John Carmack Yes. So, tell me, how does this equate to him doing AI, as per your first post? quote: Oh and SC, your quote is on p50, from a post onI get PCG before you do. I saw the quote already. quote: Originally posted by Litvyak: Any non-human entity doesn't need the same level of detail in AI programming as a human based character to create a suspension of disbelief. Players are critical of human ai entities because they are familiar with humans... since after all most of us are human, and they expect them to act like humans. However since most non-schizofrenics don't deal with demons on a regular basis, it's easier to be more forgiving about how they act. After all, I don't think most people would think it's odd if the spawn of hell doesn't dive for cover when somebody fires a pistol at it. It doesn't mean the AI is dumb, either, just that there's certain corners that can be cut when dealing with monsters instead of humans. And also, from what I've heard there won't be any "hordes" of monsters in Doom III... they're more likely to be encountered one or two at a time. Of course that's just impressions of reviewers based on the E3 exhibit. Thank you. Thats exactly what the Doom III team is saying. So I dunno how $ilk managed to come up with his own particularly misleading synopsis of this. Thats just how silly rumours spread. quote: Originally posted by Dragon Lady: IÔÇÖm not sure I agree with you on that one, I remember playing Unreal back in the day and one of the coolest features was that the more intelligent enemies will dive behind cover and such not. Maybe aliens have to be smarter then daemons, I donÔÇÖt know, but it seams to me that quality AI is important in any game. You're confusing the issue. Read what he wrote again. 7. You were gone?!?! Gasp, I didn't notice!
  8. And whatever you do, check out Lowtax's email spam, especially the eNetappliance one. I swear he's insane. No, seriously.
  9. quote: Originally posted by Rm: Does anyone know if there are plans for a PC port? I've not seen anything mentioning a PC port (yet) There won't be any ports. Sony has the exclusive rights to the series now. I'm not even sure if there is an expiration on that (e.g. five years).
  10. Don't forget these two gems here and here
  11. LMAO!!! Lowtax takes on the Nigerians
  12. heh, I found this excerpt from MSN quite interesting quote: But Moore isn't ultimately gunning for the NRA or the State Department. What he's doing is actually braver and more valuable. He's directly posing the question: Why is the gun-murder rate so much higher in the United States than in so many other (not-at-war) countries? Europeans have a history vastly more violent than ours. Japan has a higher appetite for bloody movies and video games. Canada has as many guns per capita. But the murder rates in those places are low. In the movie's most hilarious sequence, Moore walks up to a succession of Canadian homes and discovers the doors unlocked: No one is scared.

  16. quote: Originally posted by Lotharr: " I am very happy and excited to tell you that this Friday, October 11, my new film, "Bowling for Columbine," will open in New York and Los Angeles. It is, I promise, the last thing the Bushies want projected on the movie screens across America this week. The film is, first and foremost, a devastating indictment of the violence that is done in our name for profit and power -- and no one, in all the advance screenings I have attended, has left the theatre with anything short of rage. I truly believe this film has the potential to rock the nation and get people energized to do something. " Michael Moore Yes yes liberal hack..... But you can bet this will be an interesting movie.... FOR THE LAST F*CKING TIME!!! IF you ladies are going to keep lifting stuff off other sites, POST THE FRIGGING LINK and give credit to the source. The NEXT FOOL who pulls this stunt is going to get banned from this site WITHOUT WARNING.
  17. quote: Originally posted by Buzz: oh happy days ok I reinstalled BCM and the reloading of saved games seems to work now I also turned down hardware acceleration 1 notch thanks for the help all and happy gaming ooops, I hit the edit instead of quote button. Anyway...I dunno what you're talking about. As long as you are running RC18, restoring a saved game is likely to crash at some point. Didn't you read my post above?
  18. quote: Originally posted by Remo Williams: Works just fine here too, so if you are having this problem its definitely system related. I've found and fixed this save/restore bug which crept up in RC16. It was random and depended on the system time. Which is why most people didn't experience it. Also, only the release build was affected, not the debug build. [ 10-20-2002, 09:17 PM: Message edited by: Supreme Cmdr ]
  19. uhm, wouldn't it be easier if you just posted a message in the Beta forum, asking me for the fuel calculations algorithm?
  20. Righteous fun!! If you're in the mood for a comedic action flick, go see this one. Its really quite better than I expected. 9/10
  21. quote: Originally posted by Tackbau: Yes a station that was destoryed will come back but I left the game running for sevevn days of game time and still was disabled. As I sayed the stations hull intergerty was 100%, and the other two were at 100%. To try to be clear the station when targeted has 100 on top full shields to the left and full armor to the right. On the vid 3 100s on top shields to the left armor two the right. Other than looking blownup its like any other station except disabled. Read what I posted above. Slowly this time.
  22. quote: Originally posted by Or: He's right though getting into space is'nt that hard, getting back down in less than ten pieces is the real trick. LMAO!!
