Real Time problem again - don't get upset
Supreme Cmdr replied to Gustavo's topic in Battlecruiser Series
quote: Originally posted by Eihort: If time out side the station is standing still... how come I have to wait real world minutes to repair my ship while docked?!!!!? Nothing is going on the the game world while I'm docked and it's not costing me anything if I'm at my own side's base so why do I have to wait? It's a waste of my time. You THINK nothing's going on while you are docked. You are WRONG. Its just not updated as often. But the game is still in real-time, which is why the time you spend at a station is calculated as such. Anyway, apart from removing this (already done actually) due to mp, the repair times will be significantly reduced for mp in BCM, but will remain as-is for BCO. -
Newtonian Physics vs. the SC's Physics
Supreme Cmdr replied to Thomas Braun's topic in Battlecruiser Series
quote: Originally posted by Charles Lindsey: I agree with you Menchise. Newtonian physics should not be present just for the sake of Newtonian physics. Yep. Which is why I'm never going to do it. Ever. The game is already complex enough as it is. -
quote: Originally posted by Hellbinder: no, now it crashed when while i was observing pluto and setting waypoints for my shuttles. The alarm did go off that hostles had entered the sector. There is NOTHING in 1.0.05 that will cause these crashes; because the fixes are minor and minimal. If you have an invalid environment, fix it. Start from scratch if you have to, but just make sure you have the 1.0.05 patch refresh Gordon mentions above. [ 01-28-2002: Message edited by: Supreme Cmdr ]

If anyone is getting a CTD after transporting the AE to a planet, it is related to the F1 view switch. Forgot to enable something. I am uploading the patch files again, with this fix. But if you already have the 1.0.05 patch, you will only need to install the 1.0.05 patch upgrade on top of your current 1.0.05 (full or upgrade) install. The 1.0.05 saved games are not affected by this I wouldn't download this until later tonite or tomorrow, since its going to take some time for the mirrors to update - today being Sunday and all. However, the testers who are hosting the patch, may have it available if they want. [ 01-27-2002: Message edited by: Supreme Cmdr ]

I deleted that thread about the CV&G review. Its actually the PC Zone review. I guess the PC Zone logo to the right of the screen wasn't a clue?

They are also working out the small bugs that come out.And not only that they also help folks in trying to solve their problems. And if people would just take the time to read the faq you would find most of your solutions there. This game is very complex to play and also to run.So one should have a good working knowledge of their computers. And i don't mean knowing where the power switch is.So count your blessings that they do help when they can. Don't worry about Duncan Idaho. 1. I deleted his post 2. Since he said banning him was not a big deal, I have revoked his posting rights Whose next?!? When I say ZERO TOLERANCE LEVEL some idiots think I'm f*cking kidding around. Thats exactly the reason why I flagged supply stations as indestructible. And if you don't get EPs for capturing a station, read the appendix.

The downloads page has been updated with the links, but you'd have to keep checking until the mirrors themselves have been updated. The VCF has been updated.

Strategy to destroy enemy ships easier
Supreme Cmdr replied to Gustavo's topic in General Discussions
quote: Originally posted by Tac: Still chief, Epsilon 5 has a good idea there. No 'e doesn't. And I don't remember asking for ideas or wishlists either. And you just regurgitated the same thing, pretty much. I'm NOT sure which part of my statement above, regarding the server handling the configuration, was unclear. I don't remember ever saying that putting in mp for free in BCM, meant putting in new features and/or functionality. Outside of the mp implementation, BCM is done and finished. NOTHING new is going in; especially not some resource management nonsense. [ 01-25-2002: Message edited by: Supreme Cmdr ] -
quote: Originally posted by Rm: Ok, will do... No need. I found an instance (pretty rare) where the DISABLED state flag wasn't cleared if this state was set for the station, prior. Its fixed now.

It would be nice if I at least would be able to read the posts but if that piss you off too then it is your call. Rubbish but fair enough, I'll help you : your posting rights have been revoked forthwith. Who's next?!? FYI. Apart from posting off topic, in the wrong forums (which end up having to be deleted or relocated), not having your sys info in your profile etc; here is what your posting record looks like [ 01-25-2002: Message edited by: Supreme Cmdr ]

quote: Originally posted by xierxior: sc, i thought smp was os dependit, as in certain programs are optimized for smp but will use it reguardless? Dunno what you're talking about. Unless a program makes use of SMP and the OS its running on supports SMP, the program won't use it. BCM doesn't support SMP. Which part of my previous post was unclear? Strategy to destroy enemy ships easier
Supreme Cmdr replied to Gustavo's topic in General Discussions
quote: Originally posted by Epsilon 5: I thought the FC were supposed to get get asset distribution sheets of some sort and set fixed assets for each member of a fleet...? example : each member of a fleet adds 100 ship alloc points to the fleet, and 1 heavy cruiser is 50 points, 1 super-cruiser 75, a bc/violon is 100, a megaron/nightstar 125, an Aëstrom 150, a Firestorm 175, and a StormCarrier 200. Dunno where you got that idea from. You must have been hallucinating at the time. Thats NOT how it works. The server is configurable. The only person allowed to handle configurations are those with password access to the server. e.g. admins or FC. At which point, the person sets up the params for the server. And yes, you can change someone's asset on-the-fly, even after he has launched. e.g. some idiot takes off with a craft he shouldn't have (e.g. Sunflash), the next thing you know, he's in a MK2 shuttle. There are several rules I have to setup and once I've got it all hammered down, they will be in the VCF for the first mp patch. Now is not the time, nor is it the forum. They've removed the link to the forums from the review, as we requested. So now Shirley can yap all he wants. Anyway, he should just be ignored.
