  1. No worries mate. I just don't want any false rumours floating around, thats all.
  2. I have added the scanned pics to my first post Gamestar: yeah, I heard about that one. Don't bother translating it. They were probably reviewing BC3K 1.0.
  3. quote: Originally posted by XenoZohar: Silly question, sure, but that page also indicates it will have 9x/ME, along with 2k/XP. I was just making sure that you hadn't removed compatibility with 2k as well. Forgive me if it came out silly. oh come on, this hole is getting deeper and deeper. Unless you haven't been paying attention (most likely), you would have seen SEVERAL messages in which I CLEARLY point out that support for win9x/Me would be removed and only win2K/XP would be supported. With that info, the products page lists win9x/me/2k/xp in the requirements section (I have not yet updated it) and the recommended section clearly lists 2k/xp. Extrapolating from this amount of data, your original question is still a silly one even when the products page is updated to remove win9x/me (when my decision is final). To wit : Quick question: XP1 won't have 98/ME support... What about 2k? I'm not willing to move to XP (the os) just yet, for the sheer facts that: As such, I don't see HOW support for win2k could be removed when in fact, it is listed in the min and rec requirements - along with my posts in this and SEVERAL other threads.
  4. Its airing here on 1/19 at 9pm and 11pm EST. Got the VCR already programmed to tape it.

I'm not sure how this could solve the problem of dieing when materializing. Perhaps approaching the ods from differant dirrections would help with the materialization problem. All units have a blind spot What 'dying on materializating' problem? Why is it a problem exactly? If you're dumb even enough to jump directly to a hostile ODS (or any threat for that matter) that probably already had you tracked prior to your ingress, you deserve to die.
  7. I have to agree. In fact, I have friends who can't even play my games and when they ask me for a copy, I just autograph it and give it out with the usual warning about the type of game that it is. As for the media reviews, heh, I'm doing a soapbox about that right now. Should be published by Wednesday.
  8. quote: Originally posted by Gavor: Those VIA drivers are for 98 and 2000 so they should still be functional. I guess its not a problem to run them again just in case . Thats pure rubbish. You MUST re-install ALL drivers under the OS upgrade.
  9. quote: Originally posted by has: I gonna stick with Win2k Pro for now. I┬┤ve had it for past 6 months and no BSOD yet. Very stable, I see no reason to upgrade to XP (~$400 retail!!). If you already have win2K there is no reason to upgrade to XP...unless you want the new look 'n feel.
  10. The name is a string and has to be enclosed in quotes. Lemme know if it works or not [ 01-13-2002: Message edited by: Supreme Cmdr ]

  12. quote: Originally posted by Epsilon 5: It's better than the 47% you got at that other site... what was it called again? Dunno, check the reviews page for the link
  13. quote: Originally posted by rockinit: Game still crashing to desktop... anything else I can do? I am planning on upgrading my OS to Xp and buying a new video card in two weeks. Any recommendations....... You are already using win2K and upgrading to XP is not going to make a difference. Spend the money on a better video card and toss that antique TNT2. Then follow the steps I outlined above for someone else to follow. And judging by the diagnostics info you posted earlier, you're not serious about solving your problems or you won't be using OLD drivers (via, sound etc). *sigh* [ 01-13-2002: Message edited by: Supreme Cmdr ]

  15. quote: Originally posted by antaren4279: If anyone is running Win98 first edition and is capable of going for more then 2 hours without a single crash (not sitting overnight, actual play and transvers time) please let me know. Dunno about first edition, but I have a WIN98SE system here running BCM and I usually just resume a game I have had running since 1.0.04 was released. No crashes whatsoever, even when I forget and leave the machine on and the monitor goes into standby mode....causing me to forget that the system is even on, once I check it, the game is still running. In fact, thats the system I'm using atm to work on the GBS-II docs (checking scripts etc)
  16. quote: Originally posted by canusa: One thing is a little odd about the review. The reviewer did not score the game. Other Gamesdomain reviewers score the games they rate. Wonder why this guy didn't.On the other hand, given the time he apparently spent with the game and his emphasis on graphics, maybe we don't want his score. Don't look now, but he finally got around to scoring it (2.5/5). heh
  17. I came across this earlier today over on VIA Hardware.
  18. quote: Originally posted by Kush: As much as I love the OS, I am still a little PO'd about having to buy a copy for each machine. Installing the same copy of ANY OS (or any program for that matter, including BCM) on more than one machine is a violation of license agreement. Pure and simple.
  19. quote: Originally posted by XenoZohar: Quick question: XP1 won't have 98/ME support... What about 2k? You might want to check the product page before asking silly questions.
  20. quote: Originally posted by Epsilon 5: Crap!! But xp pro is 250 oem, 500 retail! Where am I going to find that money???(and I thought I could last with 98 for at least 2-3 years more) If you can't afford it, you can't afford it. There are a LOT of things that most of us cannot afford. *****ing about it is a pointless. Besides, XP Home uprade (from any OS) is about $64 if you look around.
  21. quote: Originally posted by MyBOOboo33: Well peeps, I don't know what to do anymore. You could start by actually using the recent drivers for your components. I just looked at your profile and drivers for both your sound card and the mouse (I think) are NOT the current ones. And frankly, I don't know where you got that video driver from. As far as I can see, you need to re-configure your system PROPERLY by re-installing ALL your drivers (as indicated above) and then doing the same with BCM. And in the future, unless you have stabilized your system, quit posting about issues that only end up confusing yourself. The engineers work fine. If you don't know why they would repair a component 100%, read the manual or the newbie forum. Note: You will ONLY get saved game problems if you have NOT applied the patch properly or you are attempting to using incompatible saved game profiles with incorrect versions of the game.

  24. quote: Originally posted by Fendi: The problem with me upgrading to XP is that I have several computers in my house and as I'm a student, I can't really afford to buy several licenses. I'm not so sure if I'll go for 2000, but my friend too has told me that XP is better for games... Nobody asked you to upgrade all of them to XP. You should only be concerned about the machine you are playing XP1 on.
  25. quote: Originally posted by Fendi: Hmm If I read that post correctly, that means that XP1 will come out in two months? You read it incorrectly. You have the delusion that XP1 would be released on the day he puts away his sixtieth dollar. ...of course, lets forget the fact that the release period is Summer.
