  1. OK great, I'll kill the links and let them know its ok to publish that patch. The non-D2D patch for UCSE should be coming along sometime this weekend, along with the 1.00.03.01 patch for UCCE as well.
  2. OK, D2D sent over another version. I asked them for us to test it before they put it back on their site. So, here's your (or anyone who has the D2D version) chance to be that guinea pig we all hoped you've be. Download one (depending on your UCSE version) of these, copy it into your UCSE game folder and run it. If it doesn't work, just re-apply the previous version (which you can now download from the D2D website) over it.
  3. This has nothing to do with the game; especially if after installing the latest DX9, you find that you are missing DLL files. Also, IIRC, this was also an issue awhile back and only on Direct2Drive builds (which we have nothing to do with. We provide them the unprotected exe files, they protect it). btw, that D2D build wasn't even supposed to be up because the non-D2D build is not yet ready, since I'm going to be removing Starforce ProActive support from UCSE, as I did with UCCE and all our future products. You can still use it though. ALL the running around you're doing related to fooling the game version is irrelevant since the Updater does not update the D2D version. All it does is point you to the D2D downloads link. I suggest you roll back to 1.00.03 until they [D2D] fix it. I've notified them this morning.
  4. uhm, thanks, but Dreamcatcher has nothing to do with this game. They were the publishers of BCM Gold and UC. Thats it. In fact, their rights to those two games expires this December. At which point they too will be released on the Net for free at some point in the future. btw, who did you order your copies from?
  5. Coming soon to an XB360 near you. If you blew your money on that travesty that was the Wing Commander Arena on XBLA, then you already know what to expect. http://pc.ign.com/articles/826/826262p1.html

  7. I have updated the links on the sales page to online retailers who currently have it in stock. Some may ship outside North America, but you won't know unless you try ordering it and going all the way to the checkout page. You could also check their shipping policy. Take2 informed me last week that EB Games Canada placed a large order. So they're probably getting quite a few inquiries. I suspect that it will start appearing in their stores sometime next week. Unfortunately, since Take2 has the sole distribution rights, BMT Micro, which ships our other games worldwide, will not be carrying it. However, since they still have some copies of the printed UCAWA manual (in which only one or two insignificant pages are different from the printed UCCE version), you can still order the manual (comes with the printed keyboard sheet/map) and the digital distribution version when that goes live later this year.

  9. Thats correct. Take2 only have rights to North America and Canada distribution. So, whoever they sell to, is not allowed to ship outside those territories. So, your best bet is to have someone in the US buy it and ship it to you. Or wait for the digital distribution version due out in late November or early 2008.
  10. It has been canceled. The last season is next year. Compared to how long others lasted, it failed. I know that some people like it. I have nothing against that. I just think its over-hyped rubbish.
  11. The boxed version is being sold in North America and Canada only. There are currently no plans to make it available to other countries. For that, there is the digital distribution version.
  12. Its still over-hyped B movie rubbish. Which is why it didn't last.
  13. Is anyone else watching this? Its not a comedy, but the situation that Dan finds himself in, have me laughing my ass off right through the show. If you haven't already, go watch the season premiere as well as the newer episodes. What cracks me up is how his wife is resigned to the fact that her husband is a time traveler (she calls it an out of body experience). Usually in these shows, the spouse is usually either in the dark or is portrayed as some stupid git. But Dan's wife is a supportive and intelligent (and obviously trusting) spouse Watch the latest episode and you'll just die laughing in the first fifteen mins. But in usual network fashion, a show this good and intelligent, probably won't last long if the ratings aren't high.
  14. Geek Squad trip lands child porn "trafficker" in slammer for 10 years
  15. I finally got around to taking pics of the game materials. Note that the keyboard sheet is on the reverse of the game map.
  16. Thats right, SecuROM does NO such thing. And I checked before deciding to use it. It was either that or use Starforce again. And I don't do anything fancy either because it will just screw up the timing and thus the game's AI - which requires real-time processing that is far more sensitive than graphics frame rate updates. All it does is check that you have the DVD-ROM in the drive. Thats it. I have been meaning to change the DRM on the previous games (UCG, UCAWA, UCSE) to SecuRom (they also have an on-line activation), but it costs too much and I can't be bothered. Since this would be only for the BMT Micro and DigitalRiver versions (since Direct2Drive uses their own, based on Macrovision's ActiveMark copy protection), I can't be bothered.
  17. Hi Gummy!!! There used to be a page re-direct from the old forum to the new after we closed it. But then we discovered that porting the old UBB data to IP.Board did not update links to post within messages. So if you were to click on a reference link, it would go to a 404 (since the UBB site was closed). So we re-opened the old UBB board, but marked it as read-only so that the embedded links would still work.
  18. I have the two new episodes on my DVR but have yet to watch them. I was going to get around to that, Prison Break, Journey Man, Torchwood, Life, K-Ville...and about six other regular which recently premiered shows, this weekend. Anyway, I'm bummed that Burn Notice is done until next Summer. I l_o_v_e the show! At least 24 will fill in for it I hope.
  19. This should come as no surprise. I know what the deal is, but can't talk about it in open forum either. Just want for the news next week.
  20. Word from Turner Game Networks (operators of Gametap), the release has been pushed back to November, though the demo is already making its rounds with the various media outlets. My guess is that the delay is due to the fact that the multiplayer servers (handled by parent co AOL and nothing to do with us) are still not yet up. Anyway, we delivered the game months back, so we have no control over any of this.
  21. This is to let you guys know that the boxed DVD-ROM version of UCCE is now shipping to stores this week. Usually EB Games get games quicker that most other retailers. So I'd check with them first. Though the ESD (Electronic Service Distribution) versions (Digital River, Direct2Drive) won't be ready until sometime around the end of this month (with the possibility of a delay, giving the time of year), I think most of you hardcore fans should pick up the boxed version since its the last time you're going to see a BC/UC based game, let alone a boxed version at that. There will be a minor patch released next week, but other than that, we're done with BC/UC. The end.
  22. If you were paying attention, you would have noticed a new Support link at the top right corner of the main board options. This has nothing to do with IP.Board. It is a link to our new ticket based tech support system. The main site page is also undergoing minor revisions and that link will be there by the end of the week. Tech support related discussions should still be conducted here on the boards and a support ticket should ONLY be created when requested to do so or if other avenues fail to resolve your problem. Since you have to register in order to use the ticket system, any form of abuse will be met with the usual consequences : you'll be banned Both of the games (UCCE and GES) coming out in the next week or so, are based on established technologies. So it is highly unlikely that anything new will crop up.
  23. It should be in some stores (e.g. EB Games) later this week. It only came out of manufacturing last week and got to the warehouses yesterday. Take2 called to advise me that I will be receiving some boxes today. I'll post some shots when I get them. Anyway, by the end of the next week, all the stores that have their copies will have them for sale. Usually EB Games gets games quicker than most retailers. Check with them. The digital distribution versions won't be out until around the end of Oct to early Nov due to the additional work involved (on their end). e.g. the DVD-ROM uses SecuROM copy protection, so that version cannot be used for the ESD (Electronic Service Distribution) versions because DigitalRiver, Direct2Drive etc all use a different copy protection scheme. Also, for those of you buying the ESD versions, BMT Micro still has some printed UCAWA manuals in stock. Apart from very minor changes (art, updates due to some version updates etc) the printed UCAWA and UCCE manuals are functionally identical. Since the game also has the PDF manual included, you also get that in both the boxed and ESD versions.
  24. So, besides myself, who else bought into the hype and picked this up on day one? I have yet to play it. I'm setting aside an entire day this weekend to start and finish it. What did you guys (who have played it), think?
