  1. pah, Check these ones out http://www.evilavatar.com/EA/Reviews/Demo/M7963/default.htm http://www.oldmanmurray.com/realnews.wcs
  2. ROTFLMSAO: Rolling on the floor laughing my sorry ass off. ROTFPMSL Rolling on the floor pissing myself laughing. IIRC: If I remember correctly WTF: What the ****?
  3. I don't think it has to do with the old forum, its probably something to do with the UBB software depending on which version was running when you registered. I don't think earlier versions supported that feature.
  4. quote: but I simply think that there is something terrifically misguided about going on another developers forum and posting about how much their game sucks. This only serves to make you come off looking extremely petty and invidious. Perhaps that is the reaction that is desired, but I think that the wrong outlet was chosen, thatÔÇÖs all. papamarx: I take it you missed the fact you lot came to my doorstep? Did I, of my own accord, woke up one morning and decided to flame HW players, who, in my opinion, deserved to be flamed for that stunt? Going over there was my decision - and like you, I voiced my opinions. Deal with it. If you are going to post drivel, at least make it factual drivel. In the URL above, I quote the entire email. Here it is again for your reading pleasure. quote: Would you really like an interesting flame war? With numerous opponents in a public internet environ? Many of us at the Relic Message Boards have been holding you and your opinions in contempt for quite some time now. You should never have flamed Homeworld like you did. Most believe you're a failed, hasbeen, wannabe game developer taking joy at lashing out at those whose successes remind you of your failures. For six months now you have been the bane of the core Homeworld community. And I think it's about time you faced some of your most ardent critics. Here is the address http://www.relic.com/cgi-bin/Ultimate.cgi?...n=intro&BypassC ookie=true Begin a new post for an interesting war. But for the sake of authenticity use the word "authenticity" in your first post. Just so I know that it's YOU posting and not some 13 year old dimwit trying to impersonate you. (Many are already waiting with baited breath to 'chat' to you) Be wary though. Many of us have.....teeth. [This message has been edited by Supreme Cmdr (edited 04-23-2000).]
  5. They just ran out of material. For one thing, they didn't even include Falcon4 in that round-up, as well as dozens of other games. Well, they're out of business, I'm not. So there. anyway, here is my email to the EIC when I got that copy ========================================= Hey ladies! I have a bone to pick with whoever was responsible for those screw-ups on page 35 and 41. Lets get started, and Mike, quit staring at the clock, this won't take long. Eric, wipe that 'huh?' look off your face; after all you are the art director and should've caught this. First, let me say that I have nothing against the piece. As usual, the magazine continues to live up to its premise: the whacked out target audience that PC Gamer doesn't want. page 35: That screen shot was blatantly ripped from my web site or, someone ran the demo from the PCXL issue # 20 disk. What the joker who ripped it failed to realize is that it came from BC3K v2.0, released by Interplay in 12/98. The subsequent v2.08 derivatives released by GT Interactive on 10/99 and Jack Of All Games on 2/00, share the same interface, hence, the screen shot. Fleet command and control, along with all the options you see on the right side of that TacOps computer screen, never appear in the original Take2/Gametek release of BC3K v1.0x in '96 are unique to v2.0x. The command to fire weapons has always been the same, since BC3K v1.0x and has not changed. fire laser - ENTER or joystick button1 fire missile - SPACEBAR BC3K v2.08 was a damn fine release and not a single review has said that it is as crash prone as this article tends to suggest. Several print and on-line mags, have reviewed it, with very good marks. Go to www.bc3000ad.com/reviews/index.shtml For one thing, it has sold more units that several of those multi-million duds you ladies give high scored to. It is quite obvious, to me, that whoever put that piece together, was thinking about BC3K v1.0 and just wasn't brave enough to find a copy of it to take screen caps. Heck, they even muddled the product name: Its Battlecruiser 3000AD. Get it? I can't imagine why you guys completely ignored Falcon 4 which should've taken the Silver award, with BC3K v1.0x taking the bronze. :-) Therefore, this information is misleading and incorrect. page 41: LOL!! Again, that screen shot came from BC3K v2.0x and sports the same 'clean screen' mode of the TacOps computer. The only interface for that screen, is already ON the screen in the form of the dialogue box on the top left and the selection list on the right. It is clear that this person hasn't played the game. Either that, or they already had worms in their ears prior to putting that piece together. In conclusion, hey Mike, if this is your new dream team, we're gonna have a lot of fun spending quality time together, pal! And if you ladies don't post a small correction and say something nice about me, am bringing my mom to E3. She packs a mean punch! ps: This email, while it cites factually incorrect issues, was written using the same tongue-in-cheek premise as the PCXL magazine, anyone taking this too seriously and flaming me for it, is in for a world o' hurt. Heh, obscure GALCOM cult huh? Just wait. [This message has been edited by Supreme Cmdr (edited 04-23-2000).]
  6. hehe, hi James. This reminds me of that Rodnet Dangerfield joke. Anyone know it?
  7. heh, I doubt they are my prints, probably the person I asked to burn the CD-ROM
  8. And btw, the site was down today because I was doing a massive backup and installing some security tools. So, the site being down today, had nothing to do with this hacker. I have been putting off moving this site for over month now and just need to get it done. So, now I have it backed up, I can have it installed on the other ISP and then down this one. So, expect the site to be up/down at random and don't send me emails or ICS about it please. Thanks
  9. In another bit of warning. I've alerted the FBI last night about a potential site hack. I received this headsup from the folks at Relic yesterday. In fact, that idiot posting as HOMEWORLD USER, actually used the Relic's admin's email when he registered, so I ended up booting the wrong person. I'm gonna close registeration for a few days until my ISP finishes their monitoring tools. I'm determined to catch this ******* if he makes a move on this site. quote: If you haven't revisited the Relic boards in the past day, an AOL h4x0r kiddie got in through a loophole and made himself administrator, booting out the previous admin. The homeworld community has been busy flaming his ass off for the past day, but from reliable sources, his next target will be the BC3K boards. I thought I would warn you in advance, unless he is in your boards already, to give you a better chance to catch the wanker. He goes by AmazingSkill (At least that was the alternate alias he used when breaking into the Relic boards). If you want to see the original of the thread where he declares his intent to target the B3KAD boards next, go here: http://www.relic.com/ubb/Forum1/HTML/004243.html
  10. OK, I'll put it back I upgraded the UBB software yesterday and was experimenting.
  11. hehe, you need the other half to play BC3K btw, its nice to see that not all the HW gamers are morons. Since you guys started this farce less than 24 hrs ago, I've had to delete 4 threads (just did 2 more), several posts, ban 2 people etc. See? thats the kind of disruption I was talking about and those are the kind of HW players that just gives the serious ones a bad name. They're just acting like a bunch of juvenilles. You don't see any of us doing it over there. Why? because we're Commanders and behave more responsibly. You may want to have a talk with your crew because its just giving you guys a bad name. One particular culprit, goes with the email addy of [email protected] and I just banned him about 5 mins ago.
  12. It is a bit quiet and slow right now because everyone is patiently waiting for BCM. After all, BC3K v2.0 was first released on 10/98, so, we're just whipping the newbies, like you, into shape. You want to see posts? Set the view criteria back as far as you can. You'll be reading for the next few years.
  13. Looks cool!
  14. There are lots of v2.0x reviews on the reviews page here. Go to www.bc3000ad.com/reviews/index.shtml
  15. What issue did they say is the final? I just got thru the May issue and saw no such notice. Did I miss something? OK, I just saw the news posted. June will be their last issue. Bummer. [This message has been edited by Supreme Cmdr (edited 04-20-2000).]
  16. You'll wake up soon and snap out of your dream state.
  17. boolybooly, there is a demo on the downloads page and all over the net. Check it out first.
  18. Borgkilla, welcome! Anyway, looks like you have the old v1.0x (Silver box). You need to get a hold of v2.08 which has been on sale in the UK since 10/99. Check the Game or Virgin stores. Or go to the GT site at www.gtvalue.com But before doing that, why not try the demo and then see if you like it or not?
  19. And those of you relic guys used to creating numerous pointless threads on your board, all saying the same thing, please don't do it here. Already two threads have been deleted. Here, we do not condone that sort of behavior. There is a single thread (this one) regarding this issue that you fine folks instigated. So, keep it in one thread. Thanks.
  20. I see we have some civil posters from the Relic boards. Fair enough, my first impression was to ban the whole lot because I didn't invite them here (they came and disturbed my morning coffee break ) - But I won't because I always like a healthy debate. But its one thing to start a debate and its another to actually send someone email, inviting them to a flame war. At any rate, with the amount of moderators and admin personnel we have here, I would expect posts and threads to get nuked if they get out of hand and start looking like the Relic board. Keep it civil. Keep clean or just the hell off my board. ps: I'd like to apologise to the intelligent HW players for my off-the-cuff comment. After all, HW is complex enough to warrant one-half of a brain to play it. But then again, I'm taking The Fifth because looking at the BS on the Relic boards, you wouldn't put anyone past the age of virginity. ------------------ Derek Smart Supreme Commander GCV Warmonger - Prime Fleet [This message has been edited by Supreme Cmdr (edited 04-19-2000).]
  21. I guess they won't be pulling that stunt again. http://www.relic.com/ubb/Forum1/HTML/003032.html
  22. Hilarious read: http://www.gamespy.com/top10/cheap_a.shtm
  23. I don't even know what to say. My sincere condolences.
  24. Funny thing is, I had nothing to do with the ad campaign that Take2 and Gametek cooked up.
  25. It is probably activating a lot of regions. Why don't you try following it and see what the heck is going on?
