Kalshion, I swear I'm going to delete this thread if you don't correct it.

Personnel only use line of sight for detection at short range and radar (like you DIE) at long range. So, why would you want to see them (on radar) but you don't want them to see you? There is no cheating in my AI. Go prone if you don't want to be detected on radar or by line of sight. Yeah, its in the manual.

Why an Audigy4 instead of X-Fi?

Did you actually watch that movie? You did? Then go watch the Space Force 2 one again. -
The date from hell

Wow $800 bucks huh? /me takes off in search of credit card

I don't see how the trailer shows that this game is more advanced than X3.

I have uploaded a GBS-IV refresh for UCSE. It contains the Playmod and PTEstudio tools for the standalone and add-on D2D versions.

I'd never heard of the first one, so imagine my surprise when someone sent me the link to the trailer for this one. It looks like yet another space sim shooter in the vein of Darkstar One, albeit this one looks a lot nicer. Are space sims making a comeback or am I just jumping to conclusions again?

Wait'll you see this new trailer. It'll blow your mind. I LOVE this new, darker, Bond. No more Mr semi-nice guy. Man, he looks fracking crazy.

Oh man, I can't even begin to describe this movie. If you liked Ong Bak, nothing will prepare you for this martial arts masterpiece. Its easily the best hand to hand combat movie since Bruce Lee - or anyone else - for that matter. The 30+ minute end battle which is choreographed similar to Bruce Lee's Game Of Death, is so ferocious and brutal, that it will leave you squirming long after its over and done with. A must see for all martial arts fans. 10/10

If you liked movies like Final Destination etc, you'll probably like this. The special effects were quite good, though the way battle scenes are, well, stupidly comical. Its good if you have nothing else to watch and is immediately forgettable. 5/10

Its like....I dunno what its like. But from start to finish, its one hellacious adrenaline rush. It is senseless in its premise, but fun nevertheless. I dunno why they didn't have Statham use his l33t martial arts skills in this movie. It would have been a lot more fun; especially being that he is a hitman. btw, its gory in some parts. 8/10

They've got working 'combat' code, yet nothing to show? heh, yeah right.

There are no D2D compatible tools for the UCSE version of GBS-IV yet.

Multiplayer Servers Status

Servers are back online. -
Figures. You don't even have enough memory to be running FSAA that high. This is exactly what I'm talking about. People who go about changing things (e.g. the default game configuration) are only going to end up littering the boards with stuff like this. Anyway, we're done here I think.

Exclusive development update If we see this before 2009, I'll eat my socks.

Multiplayer Servers Status
Supreme Cmdr replied to Supreme Cmdr's topic in General Multiplayer Discussions
Hypernia moved - again. The server IPs have changed. I have updated the domain A records on our 3000ad.com servers (hosted by Pair) but they have yet to fully propagated. UPDATE: The Metaserver server hosting the CD-KEY authentication and GameCQ lobby/browser has been updated. However, the mp servers are still not up and am waiting for those fools at Hypernia to remote boot the machines so that the new IPs can be used. For now, I can't even connect to those machines. So, any of you wanting to play on those mp servers this weekend, may not be able to do so. Which means that you'll just have to setup your own mp servers. I don't think that's the case anymore. Just because you may think you have a top of the line system (which you don't), doesn't mean squat. A myriad of things (memory, drivers, config etc) can all contribute to cause problems for you which nobody else would be having. quote: The spacestar's right engine glow (when in bitmap mode) is angled incorrectly I think, might wanna take a look at it. I'll get right on that, y'hear? quote: I picked up an Audigy4 and running on full accereration now. It is generally stable now, but I still occasionally get CTDs in FPS mode. Do you know what those acceleration bars do? No? Then why not try each one first before thinking that just because you have an Audigy4 board, that you can run it a full acceleration mode (for any game).

quote: Originally posted by Adm. J.P. Hanson: Hm, found another thing. I'm missing the large green oval in the center of the screen(the one that has SVI/VMI, AID and SHI/FPI in it) as shown in the manual. The rest of the ITD is showing up correctly though. Didn't see anything about toggling it on/off. It was removed from the game. It wasn't important enough to edit the manual and that annotated image over it. quote: If I were going to buy a soundcard, would the latest creative model work? I know there's been issues in the past with those and know of your preference for Turtlebeach, but the shops around here don't carry the more exotic sound cards. Any add-in sound card is probably better than an on board sound card, but if you buy a cheap no name brand card, you'll get what you pay for. I can't give you advice on what to buy. quote: so PLEASE help me get it to work. As I said, you're on your own since there's nothing wrong with the game. Known issues are documented in the VCF.

To compare BCM and UCSE is just plain ludicrous. On board sound are - and always were - rubbish. Just like on board graphics (e.g. Intel). You get what you pay for. If you want to play an advanced game that requires top of the line components, then you need to ensure that your system meets such a requirement or face the consequences. As for being defensive, look around you. Do you see any kids around here? No. We're all grown ups who tend to look first, then post later. Unless you learn that, your posts will continue be deleted or you'll get less than desirable responses. Sorry, but thats the way we are around here. We have rules which everyone has to abide by.

KillerNic - Network add-in card
Supreme Cmdr replied to Supreme Cmdr's topic in PC Gaming & Technology
The machine they used is quite capable of running FEAR. It doesn't really matter what type of machine they used since the test is to see how the NIC performs. And since FEAR is a sys hog, them using that sort of machine config in fact proves that the NIC works as advertized since FEAR is purely CPU (not GPU) bound. Finally, since the NIC totally bypasses the Windows networking stack, there is no reason why it should not be faster. Thats just pure common sense.
