Tried the 27.42's, they were nice. The 27.51's are also solid it seems, that's what I'm using now. Oops. Time to update my profile again. Thanks for mentioning those Gallion. Idaho

Hahah! I actually made a Megaron with flames over the back like an old souped up '57 chevy or something. Looked more like a garishly painted Volvo though, so I didn't keep it. Idaho

SC, There could be something to this Perscan/Intruders issue, I was just boarded in Pluto 2 minutes ago, Aestrom entered system, , CO informed me we had intruders, first I powered down launch control. Then hit Perscan (from the bridge view), and I was staring down my PC's wallpaper. Heheh. Could be a fluke, but thought I'd mention it after seeing the above. I'd send a save, but my save is from prior to the Aestrom's entrance, so is rather useless. Next time I get intruders, I'll save first just in case. Back to the battle! Take care! Idaho

Heheh, I'm still working on them, been playing around with colors, but the latest I did was the Starwarrior, and you can probably tell I went for a more 'military' appearance on that. I'd have to say my other favorites are the BCMk2 and the Questar. Those shots are heavily compressed, so they don't do the actual skins justice I'm afraid. ^^; Anyway, if anyone wants any of those, or the others I have/am making, send a shout until I find someplace to put them. Viewing intruders in Perscan also works fine here. Just dealt with 5 myself. The patch is remarkable SC! I'm having a ball learning new trade routes to pay for those extra pricey OTS's now. Guess there's no more 'Walmart' prices on OTS's. Idaho

Xeno, Sent what you asked for. Hope you like. KreKol, I'll send those screenshots there. I'm lacking a few, so I'll send what I have. I reinstalled BCM to patch tonight, and forgot to save my other shots heheh. I'll get the rest of the screens to you as soon as possible. Thanks, too! Idaho

So you like these new drivers SC? I'll try them I think. Idaho

Hahahah, I had missed that line, had to go look again! For the record, I misread the topic here, and thought it said CGW. Learned my mistake less than 20 minutes after my above response when I checked my mail and found my copy of Computer Games had arrived. Idaho

Hello, Just thought I'd post up this little bit of info for anyone who may have some of the save game issues some have mentioned: I found one thing that does make this problem happen less often: Drivers for the SBLive!. Here's what I found: I had the problem pretty hard a week or so ago. After reading around here, I dug in and read through every old post I could find, and I found an oldie by Soback where he mentioned new SBLive! drivers on Creative's web page. I knew about them, I had them, and had installed them. But, here's where things may have worked against me. Using Windows XP now, I foolishly let Windows Update decide it was okay to 'update' my SBLive! drivers to 'newer' ones. Well, putting it shortly, they MAY have been newer, but they sure didn't fix some problems that the drivers from Creative's website did. So lesson learned: Sometimes 'newer' doesn't equal 'better', and between the last two patches, and those SBLive! drivers, I've had FAR less trouble, and only 1 save I couldn't load at all in the last 2 weeks. Big improvement. Hope this helps any who may be dealing with this one. And thanks to Soback for that little gem he posted here God knows how long ago. It made me think. Thinking is a GOOD thing! (Once one get's used to that burning smell) Idaho [ 02-28-2002, 00:01: Message edited by: Duncan Idaho ]

How can I get these screenies to you all? And, for the record, pink and blue or not, I actually use my 'questionable' Sunflash. As for the skins, I've zipped them up, so they're ready to roll out for anyone who wants a look. I've also done a number of 'drop in' crew replacements. One is all supermodels (Michelle Behennah, Karen Ferarri, Aurelie Claudel and others), another is all Anime characters. (And for the record, Resnig looks pretty dumb in all of them, appropriately). Ahh well, back to the game! There are STILL insurgents on the moon, and I mean to fix that. Heheh! Idaho

Hiya, Mentioned to SC I have some skins I made for ships, some colorful, some with more detailing. I'm pretty proud of a few of them. He thought I should mention them here, since I don't have any webspace to offer them up on. Of note: I haven't really changed the ships, all details are there. I just added color, and darkened some panels and stuff. You'd have to see them. They look very sharp! (Although maybe the purple megaron wasn't that great an idea, or the pink and blue Sunflash, but they are among only a few questionable ones I think heheh). Anyway, if anyone has any interest, drop me a line, or respond here. I do have some screenshots if anyone wants to see them. I think I have about 10 skins so far, including 2 Megaron skins, a BCMk2 skin (blue and grey/silver, wicked beautiful), 3 Starwarrior skins (one of these is my current favorite), 2 Questar skins, 3 Solnar skins, and one (questionable) Sunflash skin. Seems a pretty good review. I'd rate it higher, but then I am THOROUGHLY addicted to this game. Idaho

Wow, you actually won one? Patch is nice. I'm learning a few new trade routes right now, and having a genuine blast. Idaho

SC, Yeah, I understand pandemonium. Heheh. Okay, who knows, perhaps this base was already fixed, since you'd already gone over them. Actually, the only reason I had pointed it out was because when you click on the square, the base isn't centered in the view like in all the other bases, but a little mousework will bring it into view. And really, since I can still blow it up, doesn't matter at all. Heheh. (DIE, Insurgents, DIE!) See you! Idaho

Blerm, Heheh, you sound like me. I've always thought like this: If you cannot win in Multiplayer games, learn to vigorously enjoy losing! I know, I'm the biggest loser at Starcraft I've ever met. But I sure have fun at it! Idaho
-
Yes, thanks Blerm, wicked fast dl from there. Nice of you to put that up like that. Glad I'm ready to restart my characters, I'm all fired up to get going! (Heheh, but I'm sure I'll be working hard to learn new trade routes lol). Oh yes, and thanks SC! Can't wait to put this one in and let 'er rip! SC, Okay, at least my info was correct, just from a different place then you were looking. Had me worried there that something was different about my files or something. No worries. Take care. Idaho

SC, Please! My information is accurate. I just reinstalled to be sure there isn't some sort of corruption in my files, and just rechecked, when I mouse over the areas on the Earth's moon, (I'm sitting there right now), mousing over one box in one Terran Insurgent area brings up this dialog: Mission 19 (moonp26) It is within the first Insurgent area in the middle row. I did tell you the 'scene' as well, it's one of two marked: SCENE scene_mbase08 I feel bad now, I know I gave accurate information. Perhaps my past remarks deserved the last response. Idaho

quote:Originally posted by Duncan Idaho: Mission Zone 19 (moonp26) SCENE scene_mbase08 SC, Sorry about pointing to one from the VCF. Don't burry me yet. Okay, you asked what 'moon number', guess I was unclear. It's Earth's moon, and it's Mission Zone 19, (if you are in Tacops, observe moon, mouse over the Insurgent areas, you'll spot that one when you mouse over the box, near the center of the map). In that "mission area", you'll find the one base all the way against the right side of the map seems to be built upside down, underground. You mentioned wanting a screenshot? I have one, took one when I found it last night. Should I send? Where should I send it if you want it? (Note: I just looked at this screenshot, and you can't tell much from it, other than that a bugnor went all the way through the targets and is now far below the buildings...and you can tell a few of the APC's and SAM's moving around are not actually near the base, but seem to be 1 or 2km below the buildings). Keep up the awesome work. Hope I've helped this time. Idaho [ 02-26-2002, 19:44: Message edited by: Duncan Idaho ]

Hello, Well, going on 5 days without much trouble here, so that's a good sign. I have had a few saves give trouble, but nothing changing some graphics options didn't get around. Thanks for the effort SC, seems to have helped some of the problems I had. Here's a thing I noticed, I took care to note details so you'd find it easy enough if you think it's worth a look: On the moon, (where I've spent a considerable time the past 2 or 3 days), one of the Ter/Ins bases seems messed up somehow. It's: Mission Zone 19 (moonp26) huh? Whats that moon number again? Anyway, I need a screen shot. I recently fixed a few mzones which were off because I listed the co-ords incorrecty. One of the two areas that read: SCENE scene_mbase08 In particular, it's the one at the right edge of the screen. Something seems wrong with this base, it seems to be built on the underside of the terain, or far under the terrain. The view does not properly center on the area when you click it. You cannot even see the base until you manipulate the mouse holding the right button and rotate the view so you're looking up. If you drop an OTS, you will see the bomb drop right through the buildings, then proceed 'up' into the ground for some time, before it finally blows up. (using a Bugnor does destroy the base however heheh). REMOVED PLEASE refrain from posting about issues already addressed and listed in the VCF FINAL WARNING Two minor issues, just thought I'd list them as precisely as I can. Take care, SC. In fact, now that I think about it, that problem could also be a possible cause of some saved games not loading - especially if the game didn't crash when this problem occured but you saved anyway with that incorrect information stored. Dunno though; so am just guessing. In fact the new failsafe triggers in the saved game were implemented for especially this kind of problem.SC, You just might be right. I won't say too much right now, but I'm on my 3rd day with the new patch, and that makes precisely 3 days without an unloadable save. Let's hope, man! Idaho

Not from me so far. Been problem free since I stuck that new patch update in. Idaho

Alright. Now, I thought I was having fun with this game before. But I just had more fun in the past so many hours than I had had before, (and again, I had a LOT of fun before). I cleared one whole plot on Earth's moon of Insurgents. I now look at my 'huge' pile of money and realize it's not as much as I thought it was. Hahah! Just popped in to thank you Gordon, I just made Fleet Commander, and am working on another rank before bedtime. Okay, two ranks. No more! Idaho
