Hey GaryW....is part 3 coming along pretty soon?
-
Ok, I'm hooked. Looking forward to furture chapters. Cheers.
-
Nice job!!! Looking forward to more.
-
Also, the power level of the engines will affect the ammount of thrust you can produce. By default, it's halved. You can go into Logistics and adjust it.
-
Welp, gotta say it's the Megaron for me. Love that ship. Fast, reliable....deadly! A close second is the MK III.

Hi all, I'm pretty sure this is the correct forum (hopefully). Anyway, what I'd like to do is import the officer pics from BCMG to UC - yet - give them the green/black green lines of the current UC pics. I only have Adobe Photoshop Elements and the MS Paint. I know where both zip files are located. Anyway help is appreciated. I searched but to no avale. Gary

Howdy all, I don't usually post much in the forum but I just couldn't help myself this time. SC, can you and your remarkable dev team come up with any more software to keep me up all night, get lost in another world, lose lots of weight? I am bustin a gut here waiting for UCAWA. I've been a customer of 3000AD ever since the Take-Two days. This just keeps getting better. Because of the supprt and attention to detail, I get MORE than what I pay for. Great job! Universal Combat Tutorial Discussions
GT123 replied to Supreme Cmdr's topic in Universal Combat Series
Great tutorial, SC. IMHO, it makes the game seem less daunting to first time players. Heck...I learned quite a bit from it and I've played for a long time!! What's so nice is that there is always something new to discover. Again, super job. Gary, Houston, TX -

I have to agree with ya, Fallout2man. I must say that I don't support what is happening in the various cities in the US. We have laws...and laws can always be changed by working within the law. Citizens have always been discouraged from taking the law into their own hands and that applies here as well. Many countries in Europe (from what I hear) have separated the marriage ceremony and the civil ceremony. Thus, if you have a religious ceremony, nothing legal is implied until you have a civil service. I do ponder something. Athiests are allowed to "marry" and no one seems to object. They certainly don't have it done in a religious institution. Civil ceremonies are becoming more and more common place (heck, go to Vegas and get hitched). So I don't really see the "beef" about letting a loving couple (meaning 2 consenting adults)enter into a legal aggreement/partnership.
-
Welp, as a gay man (and living with my partner of almost 18 years now), neither of us want to "marry". However, it would be nice if we could be legally recognized. I don't give a flip about the religious aspect of it (your religious beliefs are just as personal as who your "sleep" with and I don't think religion should crammed down anyone's throat). How many "marriages" are performed by civil servants (outside of a church). In all the years that we've been together, we've never once encountered a problem. He was in the hospital for an appendectomy a few years back. The doctor's and staff treated me well. The doc came to me after the surgery to discuss how it went and the like. But they aren't legally bound to do that like they would be with a man/wife sitch. I don't see the need for "marriage" but civil recognition would be nice.

MP in Enigma won't be released til after March. They are having some kind of convention/seminar type thing in Eugene this month and the MP will be previewed and played during that one day event. Oh yeah...Gal Civ is great. I tend to stick closely by these indie developers.

I think her name shoulda been *snip*(KNOCK IT OFF!! LAST WARNING GUYS!) ...not Gaming Babe. Is it just me or does it seem like some of these reviewers write after seeming a few minutes of play? I mean, the resources are ALL there to provide the player with info to play the game. I see ABSOLUTELY nothing wrong with the graphics!!!! I'd better stop....I'm getting abit testy..... I agree with ya on both counts, Bandus. Have you gotten the update for Enigma: Rising Tide? Really makes MULTIPLE improvements.
-
Interesting. I didn't care for Outpost II. I certainly enjoyed the original Outpost (especially after they patched it to take advantage of features that were advertised).
-
Geez...maybe I should check out SFC III. I certainly enjoyed SFC and SFC II. If I'm not mistaken, SFC III is set in the NG timeline???
-
Wow...other GalCiv players! It seems like I'm getting to the point of ONLY buying software from independent developers (3000AD, Stardock, etc). Another good developer is TesserAction Games...they made Enigma:Rising Tide. Great game. I guess the reason is that I feel safer with my purchase in that the software will continue to be supported and the developers are interested in getting the feedback from the users. I can't recall many of the "big name" companies doing that.

Crash Landing During Planetfall Without Waypoint
GT123 replied to scorchedearth's topic in Universal Combat Series
I'm not quite sure what the hubub is about landing without waypoint setting. I've landed my CC repeatedly on planets without as much as a scratch. I must be doing something right. Granted, the waypoint setting is better. Come on people....just practice!!! -
Universal Combat - First Impressions
GT123 replied to Supreme Cmdr's topic in Universal Combat Series
Okay, I've been playing UC for a few days now and I have to say, "I love this game". I really enjoy the crafts and vehicles, the flora and fauna on planets, and the overall feel like I "got a brand new toy"..YAY! It didn't take much to get used to the new controls. One thing that I found that I miss is I can't seem to zoom in/out in F10 view of my ship or target. But no worries, I can still do that in TacOps. As with the BCM and BCM/G, UC has NOT presented ANY stability issues. The entire Battlecruiser series has been (and continues to be)a delight to learn and play. The dev team did an excellent job. Good on ya! Gary -

In answer to your question, Goat, what I LOVE about BCMG is the vastness of the game. I think the "steep learning curve" is vastly exaggerated. Granted, it's most helpful to RTFM but that goes for ANY game. Some gamers are vapid. They expect to have their hand held. This game won't do it. Actually, if it did, you'd miss out on, for example, the exploration of the unknown. Many of us get our butts kicked when starting out. Heck, I still get crapped on by the AI but that's all part of the game. That's fun. For me, after playing for long periods, I get quite attached to my crew and ship. I enjoy trying to upgrade. I enjoy watching and helping my crew to grow in experience. I love to explore and poke around here and there. I love the combat! Although I respect your opinion, I do have to disagree with you. No worries. If you've read much of the media about this series, it is touted as already a "cult classic". This game is not for everyone but what game is. I've been playing computer games on PC every since the Starflight series. As you can imagine, I've played A LOT of games. Of all of them, this game is the most unique I've encountered. It remindeds me of the Starflight games and goes WAY beyond. Sorry you feel this is a "mediocre" game. But believe me, after playing the BC series from the beginning, it get's in your blood. Welp sorry for being so verbose, it's just that when it comes to the Battlecruiser series, I tend to be quite passionate. Cheers!

How Long do you play Battlecruiser?
GT123 replied to Extinct_Reptilia's topic in Battlecruiser Series
LOL....I completely loose track of time. I've been known to play for 23 hours, only taking "nature" breaks or to get a soda. Don't ya just love addiction????? -
Wow!!! It's been a LONG time since I've been on the board. I named my ship GCV - "Sojourner Truth". Named after a former slave. She became nationally known as an advocate for equality and justice. There is a house named after her on the main campus of the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor (where I was born and raised). Great names out there, all!
-
Oh yeah....I've followed this game (and was VERY excited) since I first read the preview in CGW many years ago. I still have everything from the entire series (from BC3K to BCM Gold). I must say it's been an amazing journey watching and playing this game as it developed. The game series as always exceeded my expectations. In closing....I LOVE BCM Gold!!!!! Thanks for a great game!
