I thought I made a post about this before a couple months ago.. but now I can find it (deleted?) Anywho, bought the game... didn't bother to look at the box cause I thought it was for cd-rom I pop the disk into the cd rom... nothing... I come to find out the game requires a DVD DRIVE So that's my first gripe about this game. It requires you to have a dvd drive in order to play Luckily I had one in my old computer, so I just salvaged it and got the game working First off, the graphic sare DAMN IMPRESSIVE however the game is a RESOURCE HOG Even on my alienware system, a 3000-5000 doller system with the most advanced graphics card, 4 gb of ram, couldn't keep up But here's the fun thing Even if you have you're graphic set to there lowest the game is still fun to play The plot is a tad confusing You play as 3-4 different 'frames' (factions) each with there own 4 special units The first few levels are more like survival levels for each 'frame' you fight an enemy called the "Scourge", a bug like force that's comprised of spiders, land sharks, red ghost like heads, and fire breathin dragons The spiders and land sharks aren't really a problem unless they come at you in force HOWEVER The dragon's and ghost's (red one's) are a major neusance if you don't have a good defense, primaryly because they can chew through you're laser and rocket turrets in under a second As you progress you're the campaign and play as each 'frame' you soon realize that ... "Who the hell is the good/bad guys?!" It's impossible to tell who's good and bad in this game. One minute you might think some side is good and find out that there bad... or vica versa The level's themselves are very challenging because of the way the developers have set up the level's themselves You might think you're safe then out of no where the ground will split apart and spiders will come out and attack OR You might start off on a level pratically right next door to the enemy, the problem with this is that you need to SPEED BUILD. Build up you're power, get a laser lab down and build some laser turrets Sometime's you might be able to get it up before the enemy manage's to get it's first wave to you From what I've noticed though, the enemy hardly ever use's there special units and there is a reason for that On easy, they will NOT use there special On normal, they will sometime's use them On hard, they WILL use there special's all the time A break down of difficulty is this On easy the game is almost a walk in the park except on some of the more hairy levels On normal the game is not a walk in the park, but it isn't hard either.. a mission that took you 2 hours on easy might take you 4 on normal On hard... well... the 5th and 6th mission for me took me 2 hours on easy... on hard... 6-7 hours.. due to the constant wave's of enemy Scourge -- On easy you can preatty much lay back and relax On normal.. you can sometime's lay back (if you have enough defense's up On hard.. unless you've got super man type reflex's... I wouldn't suggest this Some of the level's make it so that you have one choice to make and if you make the wrong choice.. well... so long The AI is also very competitive, they'll try anything to avoid whatever unit's you have on the map (if you have air units, they'll attempt to go underground to try and get you're base) However, funny thing is.. all you need are two squads of units (One for air) and another for ground (one that can attack ground and underground units) and you're preatty much set I'd suggest this game to anyone craving a challenge

Tac I've beta tested the game since Phase one ok? I'm not stupid.. I know damn well that the game went wrong because of the devs Although, beleive it or not, they ARE finally listening to there players.. so there may be hope yet Edit: Commando?? BROKEN? yea... right.. and I'm Leia's husband Commando's can take down a turret in under one minute sometime's two as long as they have medic/doctor support, where before hand they COULDN'T The only special currently broken on Commando is Firecone 2, and I know cause I have guild members who have said just that.. but they have also said that everything else is fine except that attack The dev's are giving JEDI there TEF back when they bring out a light sabre (anyone can attack them, covert or overt) They've also said something about putting PERMA death back in after JTL is released, I'm hoping they do cause quite frankly a jedi should be peram death Right now, I've killed well over my fair share of jedi's. Look in my house and you'll see the robe's of every jedi I've killed (I craft the robe's and put there name's on it.. sorta like a momento) I've been playing this game since phase one, so I know what is going on, I keep up to date on the updates and what the developer's are doing. To be honest SC, I believe JTL will bring more people to this game AS LONG as the developer's continue to listen to there players, which like I've said, they have. Installed it both on this computer and on a computer back at the school I attended before graduation So far, no problem's on either (then again, I havn't checked the one at the school.. suppose to next week on monday *first day of school*, to make sure nothing went wrong) Only problem with mine here is that the pop up blocker doesn't seem to work, it's enabled but it still won't block the ad's

Dupying credits is a huge offense when SOE in involved guys They had already forewarned players IN the TOS that the punishment will be severe.. they even warned players in the news In my opinion.. banning that many is a small price to pay for the future of this game.. which, by the way, this game still has a lot of players.. my server alone (Eclipse) has well over 900 players on weekdays.. and 1600 on weekends (explains the adnormal lag and sudden ping spikes on some of the more peaceful planets) Although, keep in mind, the succes of "Jump to Light Speed" will determine how much longer this game survives If JTL manage's to pull more players into the game then perhaps it'll last another year.. but if JTL is a flop then we can kiss SWG goodbye in a matter of months (which from what I've seen from beta testing, it isn't a flop.. although I can't say any more.. sorry NDA)

Lastly, Ambassador Richard Butler, the former head of the inspections team, warned that inspections were doomed to fail if Saddam succeeds once again in what Butler calls the ``shell game--phony inspections, more deceit, more concealment.'' ``That would,'' he concluded, ``be deeply dangerous, providing an illusion of security.'' Third, a variety of witnesses, including Secretary Powell, agreed that containment of the Iraq threat, our policy since the end of Operation Desert Storm, is no longer suitable. Secretary Powell told the committee that the box that contains Saddam Hussein's murderous ambitions cannot last much longer. Secretary Powell, said, ``[saddam] continues to bounce against the walls of that box. And one of these days he'll have a box cutter and he'll be out. And we don't want to wait and see that day.'' Ambassador Butler also suggested that containment no longer works. He told the committee, ``we also need a specific solution to the specific problems posed by this particular and, I suggest, unique outlaw.'' Former Secretary of Defense Caspar Weinberger, National Security Advisor Robert McFarlane, and Dr. Khidir Hamza, former Iraqi nuclear weapons designer, all noted Saddam's absolute commitment to the development of weapons of mass destruction , especially nuclear weapons . Secretary Weinberger also noted that Saddam's ability to smuggle goods in and out of Iraq , despite U.N. sanctions, earns him billions of dollars per year--money that goes to develop weapons of mass destruction . quote: Some say the way was justified even if WMDs are not found nor their destruction explained, because the world is ``better off'' without Saddam. Of course it is better off. But unless one is prepared to postulate a U.S. right, perhaps even a duty, to militarily dismantle any tyranny--on to Burma?--it is unacceptable to argue that Saddam's mass graves and torture chambers suffice as retrospective justifications for pre-emptive war. Americans seem sanguine about the failure--so far--to validate the war's premise about the threat posed by Saddam's WMDs , but a long-term failure would unravel much of this President's policy and rhetoric. Saddam, forced by the defection of his son-in-law, acknowledged in the mid-1990s his possession of chemical and biological WMDs . President Clinton, British, French and German intelligence agencies and even Hans Blix (who tells the British newspaper The Guardian, ``We know for sure that they did exist'') have expressed certainty about Iraq having WMDs at some point. A vast multinational conspiracy of bad faith, using fictitious WMDs as a pretext for war, is a wildly implausible explanation of the failure to find WMDs . What is plausible? James Woolsey, President Clinton's first CIA director, suggests the following: As war approached, Saddam, a killer but not a fighter, was a parochial figure who had not left Iraq since 1979. He was surrounded by terrified sycophants and several Russian advisers who assured him that if Russia could not subdue Grozny in Chechnya, casualty-averse Americans would not conquer Baghdad. Based on his experience in the 1991 Gulf War, Saddam assumed there would be a ground offensive only after prolonged bombing. U.S. forces would conquer the desert, then stop. He could manufacture civilian casualties--perhaps by blowing up some of his own hospitals--to inflame world opinion, and count on his European friends to force a halt in the war, based on his promise to open Iraq to inspections, having destroyed his WMDs on the eve of war.
